Wearing belt after 1 year postpartum helps? I have a DR and so sad I have not wore when I was early postpartum, can I wear it now? Will it help?

Does this help if I have had a DR for 9 years?

Do you know if you have a functional or non-functional DR? Abdominal separation is usually the norm after pregnancy with the likelihood of them return to pre-pregnancy distance very minimal. So you can always have a DR, but we can train it so that the connective tissues have tone and integrity making it a functional separation.

Do you wear the band all day?
Edit: I have doming, and look 8-9 months pregnant even though I gave birth 4 weeks ago. I’ve had this condition for over 6 years back when I gave birth to twins. I was huge, 14 pounds of baby combined alone, not counting two placentas and fluid sacs. Im tired of looking pregnant in every photo and I’m tired of getting asked when I’m due. I get conflicting opinions of wether I should wear a support band all day or just for these little workouts. I realized waist trainers aren’t good, bands can’t be too tight (made that mistake) and I need to be careful with lifting and breathing.

Chances are there is issues with the function of your inner core muscles. When the belly has a pregnant look long after pregnancy it’s a type of pelvic floor dysfunction. There are issues with the transverse abdominals and pelvic floor muscles not functioning properly, in some cases their weak. Sometimes the pelvic floor muscles can also be tense. Both cause the ongoing look of a mummy tummy. I do have information on my website about retraining the core when there is diastasis. Visit www.kdfitness.ca for more information.
