✂️ love learning new things!!! It bites when the fabric is crooked!!! Just started cross stitching this year and I thank you for the tips and tricks on your videos.
✂✂ i don't have access to a serger so after i cut my aida (or linen/evenweave) i take the time to do a really basic blanket stitch with 1-2 strands around any of the raw edges. it's not pretty but it prevents further fraying, which preserves the fabric at the size you'd ideally like it to be when you're ready to use it 😊
✂️✂️✂️ checking the straitness is so important important. I took a class making a sampler stitching Etui. The side band wasn’t cut strait and I saw that I wouldn’t be able to finish the band and have enough linen to actually finish the piece. I was in class and pointed it out to the teacher (not a newbie but an experienced one). She said oh well - things happen and told me to frog and restart with smaller margins. Needless to say I was quite frustrated and haven’t picked up the piece since. Maybe some day.
I will never use a rotary cutter to cut Aida! I have tried it twice with disastrous results 😮. ✂️ it is for me. But I do have an unrelated question. Is there a front side/back side to Aida? I can never figure out. Thanks for all you do.
I enjoy your banter & I learn something new about cross stitch with every one of your videos. Thank you! 🙏✂🕯
✂✂✂ Y'all are adorable! And hilarious! Would love to be a fly on the wall or hear what y'all edit out! LOL!
