When I buy a car I usually look to see how hard it is to replace common parts (alternators, sensors, hoses and batteries). I think I am convinced that I will never buy a BMW. I bet the labor cost on this at a dealer is expensive. You done a great job at showing how to do the job. Appreciate how you pointed out how you made a mistake and took out the wrong bolt.
You did a great Job I wish you lived in MD or close. :) I have a 2011 328xi drive and went to start it and it starts and then dies after let go the foot pedal but lights and radio came on but after me trying start it so many times now there Nothing on .blank .my key fob was starting act up would not lock or unlock cqr door until on day stopped working as well .Do you think this could be a problem? A few ppl said Mass Air Flow sensor
I don’t think it’s a mass air flow sensor, honestly haven’t seen one go bad before on that model. Not saying it couldn’t be but unlikely. If it was bad you wouldn’t have electrical issues that you’re describing.
@@beaterboxgarage Do you think its the starter ? Like I was saying car would start fine no clicking or anything just start stay starting and then die and lights and radio and everything came on ? I appreciate your reply back too :)
@@melanieeggers9667 if the car starts fine then its not the starter. The car wouldn't crank over if its the starter. Its something else wrong, it would need diagnosed.
@@beaterboxgarage Well its started and then died and then start then died so you mean there was a crank ? But, now there nothing no start ,no lights no nothing completely dead. My key fob started dying weeks before and would not lock and unlock the car and u wondered would that have anything to do with it. ? I have mechanic who wanted put starter on it he said that they can take a dump at anytime but u said you been putting these things on for years. I dont know what could be wrong its had a new gasket cover and pvc something and spare plugs and new oil cap and so on. So you dont knkw what it could be ? I am gonna have it towed to the guy fix it last time through my AAA he just so so busy. But I appreciate you always replying:)
@@melanieeggers9667 A started on this engine can be diagnosed in all of two minutes. Looking through the intake runners you can see the starter solenoid signal wire. It can usually be unclipped using a long prybar. From there a test light can be used to see if its getting a start signal. If its getting a start signal and the engine doesn't crank over, then its a bad starter. If its not getting a start signal, you need to work backwards. I would start with making sure the battery is good (12+ volts). There's a host of things that could cause no start issues. Is it a bad remote key? Is it the access/start control module? General electronics (junction box control unit)? Unfortunately diagnosing cars requires hands-on to do so I could guess a million things over the internet but the correct thing to do is get it in the hands of a capable mechanic that can test the basics. I re-read your original post about it started then died, then nothing now. I would check your battery and make sure its good.
