The story mode is way more fun and in depth. In multiplayer you can only have 4 friends in a session, no cops, no side bets, no night time free roam. Its so underwhelming for me. All you do is race and without thenlore of the story or side bets or cops it just falls so flat in comparison to Heat. Really hope we get updates soon.
They fucked up with multiplayer. You can barely get people in a race and atleast in Heat it filled the missing slots out with bots. Why cant we have a matchmaking pool? Why cant it match people from other lobbies in your race? It's incredibly boring. I'm just sticking it with the story mode aswell

Totally agree with you, I hate multiplayer, I just cba with it because it's boring asf. Races are shit because you can't get anywhere near enough people to do races. It's so fucking stupid limiting the lobby to 16 makes it really hard to get enough people to join races. I played for the first time a few days ago because every race I saw available had 1 person in it and the game just kept saying not enough players to start the race and then I went back to the lobby to upgrade my car but was getting very irritated because I couldn't see any of the details on them because in the top right where the info is it was constantly covered by a stupid banner showing someone hosting a race and it's counting down and then immediately followed by another and it's just a never ending stream 🤦♂️😒😮💨 so stupid, criterion clearly didn't think about the ui layout in multiplayer.

@@richardprice4945I restarted the entire game and wow I fucking regret it because non of the rentals even match the player who started it so basically there has been zero chance to get 3rd place and there's zero point in playing singleplayer and literally 2015 was online only and they gave you the option to run races solo against ai 2015 and Heat
For me, the biggest problem with the farm is the entry fee for the races.
All the nights have a no buy in race u gotta start with that and build up don’t buy in with cash only risk money and resets charge u the buy in again

Got the game today and spent 5 solid hours in story which was fantastic and more difficult than I thought on manual. I usually don’t post on RUclips but you honestly gave easy clarification on story vs online. So basically I’m going to play online from now on because I like competitive gameplay
The multiplayer is really fun, really liking how the different tiers kinda make you create different cars for each category
Agreed I used to hate it but accepted what they made and it’s working for me now I have 3 B cars 2 A 1 S and 2 S+ I’m for sure enjoying the game
it works so well as forza messed up with that and made everything feel too boring by giving super fast cars and money too easy. having to grind a bit and be able to use lower class cars makes you not get stuck on just a few car builds and actually appreciate every one of your builds.

I bought this game today,I’m on PS5 got hooked from the beginning,couldn’t stop playing today.Always single player,knowing my progress will be pass to MP,so tomorrow I will just play online and will do all over again.

The grind in story is worth it if you want free cars to use in online then you will have cars to race in every class so you can really grind online. The cars that you earn are not loaner cars they are your cars to edit as you please you can choose to sell them but then you will be limited on the race types you can do or you will have to use actual loaner cars in races.
@badjuju991 I completed story without buying any cars and I wound up with like 15 cars in my online garage
Also fun thing... if u 100% the delivery orders of solo world... u get access to some of the most broken cars in the game... and dont need to do challenges... that being the pista, the countach (new) and the Vulcan... might be pricey being both are 350k and a 1.6 mil price tag... but holy shit they are FAN-FUCKIN-TASTIC

It depends on what you think is a grind. I think online is a grind in most games, I prefer single-player story modes; but to each their own.
Yeah I don' tnormally min dgrindin fo rstuff as I prefe rplaying single player and prefer racing against AI anyway Recently picked up Unboun din thesummer sale for £20 an dam looking forward to racing and playing the story.

Story mode is definitely worth doing before starting the grind online. Feel like it's all about the free cars, you can mod them and have a top class car for cheap instead of rental garbage. Definitely helps getting cash faster if you can win races.
I completed the prologue, then went immediately to multi-player. Upon coming back to the campaign to complete some missions, I came across the night races which offer vehicles. I won the car for the campaign such as the Barricuda, and it transferred a copy to my multi-player profile. I have sold 2 of the cars I won from the campaign on multi-player. Hope this helps as well!

The online mode being separate is the shittiest part of this. Breaks the immersion. I understand why they do it - they were in a rush and this was the easiest way to secure everything - by compartmentalizing the online stuff with the stuff that the Russians hack and make things worse for everyone.

I'm still slowly grinding the story mode, but I do spend a lot more time in online, way more fun, especially with the chaotic online races.
How you have chaotic races man? Nobody wants to paly this playlist and I feel this online if not supported will die like Heat. I played only with 1 player maximum and some of them didn't even compete, yeah it's good for earning money but it's boring but I'm kinda singleplayer person so but still I will prefer playing NFS online cause it can be chaotic and fun rather than boring slow Forza but when they can't just bring back speedlists seperate from freeroam sessions it's hard to do so
@@racingmaniac9037 get some chaotic races when get 7 or 8 people in a race and everyone seems to wanna bash each other lol, it is rare though to get those big races, it is unusually 1 or 2 other people. Online was a blast the first couple days but it has gotten boring now, good for money like u said but that's about it.

Some stuff carries over. The car you get at the end unlocks in online. Some collection cars you get in online. I haven't played a single race in online and I have 6 cars in my garage. All from collection rewards from playing story.

The one thing that makes up for it about the separate progression systems from SP and MP is that in SP you can do events that get you free cars, so these cars can transfer from SP to MP (but they only come in how you got them in the first place. A more tuned out version of the same car that you did won't transfer, only the stock build) This takes time tho, I played for 3 straight days (well I did a lot of events and didn't *skip* any of them so that I can have a good amount of money in order to play with some builds I had in mind) In the end, if you do all the events that get you cars (Grand, qualifiers, takeover, other racing events) you can have a pretty hefty amount of cars in your MP garage to play with. The only thing that matters afterwards is to grind bank and upgrade your garage.
Yeah people totally missed out these free cars and prolly whining about how hard it is to get any car for online race at all. He hasn't finished the game and should've done better homework before spreading info...
There're 25 cars that you can get for free from SP. And it's not even a grind
Since when do you get cars from takeovers? I haven't seen any takeovers that reward a car for doing them.
@@richardprice4945 You can get these cars on specific days. You can see from the week menu where it shows you can win a car and the class the car is.
A few takeovers can get you an Evo IX, Foxbody etc...

I just wanna say I watched this after grinding the campaign anyways, when I logged into multiplayer for the first time besides the car I chose, I still had every car I had won from the campaign (didn’t buy a car in campaign), they were just reset to stock ish, but I did get the m3 gtr from mw so that was a cool surprise, not sure if it was a loaner that I got to keep or I had it from the delivery in the campaign

Damn dude, u save my time soo much, i really enjoy NFS , and as a true fan boi, i pick the most hardest settings, and ye... kinda feels i get big problems with cash. So i found your vid as now and ye... story seeems really cool, but ye... my mustang boss 302 with 4 gears are redlined and earn some cash are struggle atm un till some AI don't do some stupid crash lol. on the bright side of the story mode. The cars u win from races and export missions for rydelle transfer to ur garage onto the online. theres i believe 6-7 cars u win from the 4 weeks that u can use online. i used those as base cars for certain classes till i got to max level n unlocked all the cars i was gonna use.

Thanks for letting me know about that. That gives me more information about the game. But the problem I have with this game are they going to put any more time and effort into multiplayer online as far as bringing more Contant into mp mode? or are they gonna focus on bringing more Contant to single player only that will determine for me and probably others what’s worth grinding multiplayer online or single player from what I heard multiplayer is not working right as far as it throws you into a server and you’re just gonna be racing those people over and over that’s gonna get boring especially if there’s no contact coming
Yea this game is definitely gonna make ppl grind. I like it tho. Reminds me of GTA 5 online I see they took some plays out their playbook.
The multiplayer definitely needs more content before I can commit to the grind.
At the moment I would say grind the singleplayer as much as you want because it is the fuller game experience. The multiplayer is fun, but after a few playlists it gets boring, I'll play 3 max in one session. It really needs a better matchmaking system, you end up racing the same people in the server constantly, takes ages to find races and they never get filled up because it is only open to the 16 players in your server.

This funny af! I just tried online today just because, and had $150k 🤔 so I bought my charger hooked it up, along with my garage ect... Played about 3 different races, came in last on all of them 😅but I had fun. I'll still play tha story just because it's actually cool. No rush just have fun guys.. Balance tha 2. I'm sure it'll be updates along tha way.

The cars you win carry over, so if you want money online easy do the week 3 qualifier multiple times and you can sell the Nissan you win as many times as you want! For anyone that thinks the money grind on this game is awful
Would be nice if the currency carried over to multiplayer but as for the upgrade it should be sufficient to do so.
Atleast the upgrade offers free cash , if not that would be tough
The cars you win in Story mode events do transfer to Online mode. I started with like 6 cars or something.

I think online is a great place for a beginner cuz it’ll help get you used to the game better and how it works. I have a read a lot of players complain about the racer AI and it can be tedious at times. In online, you don’t have that to worry with

Mine worked out different. Cars I unlocked in the story mode pop up on my online and I was able to either keep them or sell them to level up. Plus I got the m3.

What I noticed is that a lot of people quit online races before the 3rd race in the series if they are losing, which is dumb because if you finish the series no matter your place you’ll get paid
I just did all the speed traps in story mode and the reward for that was a Lamborghini Aventador, and I have it in online and haven't driven a mile in online yet
Pro tip, grind the story up until qualifier of week 3, do the money glitch with it a cpl times. Go online and sell all the duplicate cars you won, then buy the most expensive car you can afford with it, now do the sell glitch for that car until you can afford THE most expensive car. Then do the glitch with that car until you can afford every engine with every part for it, once you can, buy every part to increase the cars sell price. Currently at over 100 mil online thanks to this. Over 2 mil on story from doing the 1st glitch for those more intrested in story

I assume the grind is tough, but what about testing all cars, and builds for them. Basically play the story for the story and to create builds for those cars to have or want to have. This is how I would take it.
either way its a grind, i would say for car testing grinding MP is better because no cops atm, and No buy ins for races, so easy money!
It's basically... Don't bother with story at all--so the game has limited the replay by 70 % right off the bat. Absolutely stupid!

The challenges carry over. The cars you unlock in story mode carry over. I think that's it. I spent 20+ hours in story and realized I screwed myself. You get $$$$ for completing all those purple challenges on the map. I completed most of them in story then when I switched to online mode they stayed beaten and I couldn't beat them again for the money. Since your money doesn't carry over completing these objectives in story just screws you over for online. Don't make the same mistake I did.

this games feels like it was one step forward but two steps back, heat felt like a more cohesive and fluid experience. Just the way some game mechanics and new features were implemented wasn't quite right
I feel like that is why the cars you win in the story is available in online sessions. Just make them the tier you need with parts so you can compete with other People. Otherwise you will probably get hammered with the FREE loan cars they give you if you have No cars for specific tiers.
So do you recommend doing the story first for this reason?
Honestly, I was having fun even when I was losing with the loaner cars plus I saw a bunch of ppl using them lol. I just kept spamming races and running up a bag to upgrade & buy newer cars

Please note all the cars you win from racing in story mode carry over to multiplayer.
Buying cars will not carry over, winning high heat race cars will.
There is most definitely a reason to grind single player as you can get S+ cars by spending no money in multiplayer

I thought this was one of the worst need for speeds but the more I play it the more I get it, I like playing the story for the actual story. But you're right if you're trying to get money playing online is definitely the best way to go about that.
Bro I agree Story mode and the week low payouts and the constant taunting by the AI players is so annoying that you're right I went on online and I started grinding on there with the R 32 and so far I've been able to get three cars I'm making more money and I'm gonna do the challenge is to unlock those cars just like you said appreciate you going online and making that video and letting people know because other guys online like I won't say any names but they'll talk about the game to review and they're playing it and playing it and they won't completely tell you the truth about the game because EA is giving him a bunch of promos free stuff so they have to talk good about the game and they can give reviews on the negative part but not the real truth like what you just said oh and also on online I really hate that you can't just do one race out of the three tears you have to do all three tears and you know in the story mode once you do that race here for the day so you wanna repeat it again you can't do it until you finish the entire week or it comes back up again you can't grind in story mode even if you wanted to it's pointless you can't carry any cars over or cash or parts over so it's pointless Honestly aside from a couple of bucks here and there ghost did a phenomenal job on heat I think they got it right and I think that's why they fired him because they made all the cars unlocked you just have to grind and the payouts were high so there's a lot of things they did that we loved that he didn't that's why they fired him but kudos to ghost they will always heat will always be the best need for speed game that's ever come out in my eyes

Finally someone said it!!! Single player progression does not transfer over
if you unlock cars in story mode they transfer over to online, like the boss or event cars, getting the jump on online is easy in itself by just completing the story mode.
I been grinding the qualifier 2 to get 100k and car to sell for 45k. Imagine my surprise when I load up multiplayer for first time to get an achievement for having cars in my garage. Every car I’d won (30 Defenders and 50+ crown victorias) which I can sell. Also, I’ve done nothing on multiplayer yet there’s a yellow Golf R 211mph? I’ve never had good glitches like this before. I ain’t mad. 🎉

I finished the story a couple of hours ago and it was really good. I did play 80+ hours after it launched on nov 28th. It is a long grind but is very fun. ❤ I will be grinding online for now on.

The thing is, The cars you win in single player from events do carry over and u can either sell them or use them for races if you dont have a car in that specific performance tier, So their are still SOME things but yea!

so about 3 months in now, finally starting online, took a short break from the game and now here i am, realizing how dreadful this grind will be for me, ive been hearing its rather lackluster and im not just talking about the lack of cops, but ima gonna be honest here, i dont feel very excited about this, i already knew nothing carries over from story and i get why it probably works and sounds good on paper, but i dont feel like committing all that time to this game twice, i kinda just wanted to jump in multiplayer with my stuff from single player like i can in heat for a couple hours and then get off, i dont mind grind in my games, but i just dont feel like i have any incentive or desire to grind this game for online progression. I love unbound but this online feels like a wet fart
To be fair the payouts online are triple what you make in SP. But I agree, I didn't like the separate grind, I would have rather seen it set up where you only can use what you unlocked in sp, that would have given people an incentive to play it. Also co-op would have been a better move, where you could invite me to your week, or if I didn't have strong enough cars I could invite you to my week etc. It would also be cool if, when in co-op we would see each other car and characters in the garage
