    I think japanese outdoor sunscreens are underrated yet technologically way ahead of korean sunscreens. It's because in Japan the weather is more humid so the sunscreen must be durable yet lightweight. Yes korean sunscreens tend to have more bs skincare ingredients, but from the provided protection standpoint, japanese products are superior and more trustworthy.

    I just bought the Kose Suncut again. I used it 3 years ago and liked it. I needed toget to my shipping minimum from Yesstyle, so I added it! I'm very sensitive and have had no issues with this! I also have the Kao Nivea Sun Protect Water Gel, but it's so waterproof/resistant that I have a difficult time removing it😆For whatever that it worth to anyone 🥰Have a beautiful day💗💗💗🕊

    Since I can’t use chemical sunscreens because they irritate my skin, the best body mineral sunscreen that I’ve tried so far is the Md solar science spf 50 and for face the cotz spf50 tinted one.

    Hi Sarah you missed my absolute favourite out😂. Ultrasun has been my brand of choice for a decade and I still trust it completely. Even my rosacea and eczema prone skin tolerates it without issue (the same cannot be said for the others in this list I have tried unfortunately 😢). I use the fifty plus in the warmer months under makeup and top it up with the spray (I also practice sun safe behaviours). It’s just as longwear as P20 or Evy but for safety I top up as required (depending on how long my day is or if I’m sweating etc). I don’t get pink or more freckles as a Fitzpatrick one with it. The corresponding lip balm is also excellent btw and doesn’t taste terrible 🤢 - it’s actually moisturising which many spf balms are not. Best wishes x

    My go-to sunscreen brand for tough conditions is Ultrasun. Especially their Extreme spf 50+ stays put like nothing else. Doesn't have to be reapplied either which is a huge plus for me. On the minus side the Ultrasun Extreme would leave a white cast on melanated skin (their Sports line is completely clear and otherwise excellent too but has quite a bit of alcohol) and it's a Swiss brand so I don't know how accessible it is for US folks.
    Another water and sweat resistant favourite of mine with more elegant formulation but has to be reapplied is the new (came out last year I think) Bondi Sands Hydra UV Protect SPF 50+ Sunscreen Lotion. I don't like it on my face because it has Avobenzone in it and that stings my eyes like hell. Stays in place super well so I _have_ succesfully used in on my face on occation. Just don't like to take the risk so I use it more on the body (comes in 150 ml/ 5,1 fl oz tube).
    Both of these are alcohol and fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin. I feel these would be good for all skin types but I have dry skin myself so I'm not super confident on suitability for oily skin.

    Of the ones you mentioned, which one is the lightest feeling on the skin, best to use under makeup and doesn’t make you “glowy”?

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  23 дня назад

      The Nivea one is great! The lightest feeling one would probably be the Evy Technology Face Mousse, feels super light and sets to a completely natural finish. The other one is probably the Skin Aqua Super Moisture Barrier SPF, and then after that would probably be the Allie Kanebo UV Gel. Japan makes some great sunscreens!

    Most of the sunscreens you mention here I’ve tried ( tho sometimes a different formula). I wear Asian sunscreens in the winter and EU in the summer (after a DISASTROUS summer of wearing only US tinted mineral sunscreen!). The last of the Asian was a Skin Aqua and a different Biore (blue tube) than I’ve tried. I super love the Biore and I’ll get more next fall. I’ve started with the Summer EU. I do love the LaRochePosay 400. I used it last year whenever I wore makeup. It played well with both my Korean BBCream and American foundation. This year I finally got my hands on some P20. Since it’s for summer I only buy the 50+. The one I wore last weekend was the Sensitive Skin one. It came in an air pump (100 ml). This spf played super well with my skincare AND my makeup! I was out in the sun for 4 hours. No color! I wear mostly black and I didn’t notice any staining. I think I got 4 different types of the P20 including a kids body one but I haven’t tried the rest. I always get Eucerin and I enjoy their sunscreens a lot too. I feel like this year I got enough EU sunscreen to last me the summer!

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  19 дней назад +1

      That is extremely impressive to hear being out for four hours and no color at all! What is always sad to me is thinking of how many great, innovative sunscreens brands in the US could be making but legally they can't. I don't think that is going to change anytime soon. I'll have to try some of the other P20 SPF's because everyone seems to have such good luck with them.

    • @eonarts
      @eonarts 19 дней назад

      @@NOBSBeauty yea, I’ve completely given up on US sunscreens. I did buy a bunch of supergoop dupes at Trader Joe’s for the spring rains but we really didn’t get much. I gave some of them away to my Buy Nothing group and now that I have the water resistant P20 I can give away the rest of the Tader Joes spf. I mean US sunscreen is better than nothing….

    i recently tried the new prequel multi quench and it stung upon application and i woke up with very dry skin both days i tried it. i skipped it the oast 2 days and my skin was fine again. im going to try it again to see if it was a fluke but wondering if you think it was an allergy (ive never had a reaction to a product before) or possibly just too much moisuture? i did use multiple toners and serums afterward. ive read there is a thing as too much hydration which can damage your moisture barrier..but wondering if you know how to tell when that hapoens or how much hydration is "too much

      Have you had issues with chemical sunscreens in the past? This SPF contains Butyloctyl Salicylate, which is actually a chemical filter. It also has silica, tin oxide, and mica in the formula. I've found those ingredients drying myself. Some mineral Sunscreens feel nice at first then end up drying my out.

  • @sfkat
    @sfkat 22 дня назад +1

    A mineral favorite of mine is MDSolarSciences Mineral Creme spf 50. It's blurring and may be a little light but it sits on the skin beautifully. And I think it has 17% zinc oxide, which is great, but the finish doesn't look like it.

    I've tried some of the sunscreens mentioned in this video, and unfortunately, they weren't strong enough for the summertime. I learned the hard way with a sunburn. Now, I stick to US sunscreens that have provided excellent protection against the harsh summer sun, from brands like Neutrogena, Coppertone, and Banana Boat. While I prefer the texture of some foreign sunscreens, they just don't offer enough protection during the summer, and I've ended up with a sunburn using them.😢

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  22 дня назад

      Have you tried either the Evy or the La Roche Posay ones before? From my experience those are the strongest two on the list.

    • @heavenknows4857
      @heavenknows4857 22 дня назад +1

      @@NOBSBeauty I tried the La Roche-Posay sunscreen and unfortunately got sunburned after walking for about 15 minutes. I applied it twice, waiting about 20 minutes before going outside on a very hot, sunny day (after 4 pm), expecting it to protect my face and neck. While I appreciate its light texture, I found it wasn’t strong enough. I wonder if the lighter texture of these foreign sunscreens makes them less effective. I had similar results with the Biore sunscreen. The Skin Aqua UV barrier doesn’t sting my eyes, but I noticed I get a slightly darker tan and sometimes a little pink. The Suncut UV gel (2024 version) protected me, but I ended up with a light golden tan and sometimes a little pink, and it irritated my eyes after a while.
      I also have the Avene Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+. It doesn’t irritate my eyes but it doesn’t protect well in the summer. My face got dark pink while wearing it to the store. It seems like all of these sunscreens lose most of their effectiveness on humid days. On the other hand, the US brands I mentioned still protect well in humid conditions, so I typically use their sport versions. Neutrogena Beach Defense works well for me in the summer. I primarily used it on my body, but then started using it on my face. It is lighter and more moisturizing than other US sunscreens I've used, but it has fragrance and caused eye irritation after a while. I avoid applying it too close to my eyes and usually use the Avene Ultra Light Fluid or the Skin Aqua around my eyes instead. I wear sunglasses so I don’t get sunburned around my eyes.
