She had a potential of being a good villain but at the same time she’s likes to keep secrets so much that’s why she don’t want to talk about Rick even if he died. Same things applied with Miles she didn’t want to tell him something after he got the cube. Miles is a super hero where he’s allowed to keep secrets. I know Phin was mad at Miles when he lied about joining the underground. It wasn’t his fault that was his uncles plan.
Yeah I really wish the game was just a little bit longer not only to fix up the story but also because the gameplay is so good. But I understand they wanted to be a shorter game to hold the fans over until Spider-Man 2.
Completely agree with u on this. She had a lot of potential, but she got fumbled from the start. Loved your analysis, really in-depth and entertaining!
19:20 I actually don’t agree with that. Idk if you played it but inFAMOUS Second Son is around the same length as Miles and Augustine is a fantastic villain. With understandable motivations and even to a degree sympathetic but the game NEVER paints her as a sympathetic villain. Yes what happened to her sucked but how she went about it is bad and Delsin (the protagonist) never agrees with her. TLDR Augustine is a villain done right in a shorter superhero game and Tinker is a villain done wrong
I bought this game when it was on sale and I’ll say it was a really great experience since i don’t have a PlayStation I loved it, but also this game kind of follows story beats from the first game which you talk about like how Phin wants to get back at Roxcon for what they did. Otto tries to do the same as well but I feel Otto’s reasons while still hurting and putting many people in danger are understandable, Otto has always wanted to help people he even helped Spider-Man and even when he found out who he was he held back because Peter was his friend in Miles they take grief shrunken villain to 10 and make them illogical with her plan. From the very beginning we’re told Phin is smart and she made her own equipment how would she not know that what she was doing wouldn’t hurt people
I know villains who turn good gets boring but I honestly believe Simon should have been the end villain while Tinker and Spider-Man team up to fight him, I think had it been Spider man and her together it could have made her sacrifice even more important because not only she lost her parents, her brother and she almost lost Miles due to her actions. Though I would have preferred if she stayed alive and later become another friend for miles to lean on
Looking back at the Miles Morales game, yeah, Phin really isn’t that much of a good villain. Which is why I like replaying the first Spider-Man game *more* because it has more memorable villains than Miles’!
I wanted your opinion on mister negative’s redemption arc from Spider-Man 1 to Spider-Man 2 I feel like that’s a well done arc and want to hear your opinion
First I agree, second after listening to you I almost feel like your gripe with the character is intentional by the writers, it feels too intricately woven for it not to be. Here me out: She’s an amateur who is driven by rage and vengeance, finds out her best friend is an obstacle telling her she’s wrong, her adversaries are constantly mocking and benefiting from Rick’s death, her mind is clouded the whole game, I think she was meant to be a walking contradiction because of her connection to Miles and her role as Tinkerer
@@PrinceOfKings55 I can understand where you’re coming from. I can see where Phin sees herself doing the right thing, exposing Roxxon for what they did to Rick. And I definitely see the parallels with how Miles grieves the loss of his Dad. I feel like there’s so much depth that could’ve been explored with Phin but the Miles Morales game was too short. I really do wish the game was longer so we got more time with Phin.
@ for sure I agree with you especially with having the flashback even be an intro, maybe even explore more on how Phin got the connections she ended up getting, I also felt she was too hasty on wanting to kill Miles when nothing was exactly personal between them on her end besides the lying bit if you can even argue that since she wasn’t honest either so it should have been no love lost. Miles had a better reason to be angry with her after the rally attack and he never brought it up after the fact it happened.
I completely disagree, if you're going to talk about how they "nerfed" Peter then you just didn't pay attention to the game. Because I hear that being the constant complaint despite the fact all the villains in the game being far stronger than the 1st game villains whilst at points in the story being weakened or mentally nerfed. Kraven is a good fun villain, Venom is influenced by Peter and Harry in healing the world believing the way to do so is to be a Hive mind with Venom constantly trying to convince Peter to join them in healing the world in a twisted way. Peter after the death of May feels the weight of her death making Peter slowly doubt his capability in saving others. He feels like a screw up that fails his loved ones and clearly grieving over Mays death even before the symbiote began to enhance his negative emotions, when Peter was on deaths door he just apologized to MJ for what he feels like he fails in when it comes to his relationship with her. In the Lizard fight Peter isn't just talking about Connors mistakes but is emotionally projecting onto Connor on Peters doubts and what he's been feeling. Miles has his own overcoming his darkness and thirst for revenge. The story emphasizing and showing us that it's worth always trying to see the good in others and giving them a chance to redeem themselves like Mysterio, Tombstone and Martin Lee. Lessons on mental health, grief, vengeance/hate and overcoming all that for a better future. Spiderman 2 isn't as amazing as the 1st but it's by no means even close to as flawed as Miles Morales with its villains.
The Underground is also the most boring and stupid faction in the series. The Demon gang served as a much better faction because everything they did connected to futher the story. The Underground just commits crimes just because they want to.
My thing is that she’s a genius and she knows her best friend is as well as her brother And both tell her Nuform is dangerous and she still tries to use it😂😂😂😂😂😂
Phin fells like modern activists. She thinks she is cool and rebelious, but her action and behaviour are just dumb and egocentric and hurting the very cause she claims she is fighting for. Sadly had a lot of these in game development and in general real life. Only thing I'm wondering if these people even realize they are pushing people to the right with their actions or if this is their actual goal. Like in germany we had people that glued themselve on the street as "protest for the enviroment" and it was speculated if these where hired by industries to make the cause of fighting against cliamtechange bad.
Okay first off I just wanna say I really liked this video and I agree with what you say about the villain of spider man miles morales! I really loved this game SO MUCH because not only was the gameplay fun and the graphics were great! But I got it along with the new PS5! I was very excited about this new console (it’s been a dream to get a console at launch!) I got this game along with sack boy a big adventure and then a few days later I got demon’s souls (probably the most I spent my time on during winter break!) and call of duty Cold War! I’ve been watching old game console commercials from when I was born (OG XBOX and GAMECUBE!) Some of these teasers were WEIRD!!! The OG XBOX’S teasers has a green orb with bees flying around flowers and you hear voices saying “go outside get some air watch the sunset” “Boy does that get old fast!” Another for the GameCube is where they’re showing people inside a cube (they had a slogan called “born to play!”)

It felt like DLC that they turned into a separate game, and not in a good way
They need to give Miles his own villain who doesn’t even want smoke with Peter. My pitch: a crashout with the powers of technomancy
That's the tinkerer
@ you have no idea what technomancy ACTUALLY is
@@notproductiveproductions3504 explain it to me

Interesting, I’ve never played inFamous but I’ve heard a little bit about it. I’ll have to check it out sometime.
Fair
Nobody thinks its strange how a normal person can get spider powers 💀😭
That’s Spider-Man for ya
Well this was also handled bySweet Baby inc before they became famous for their atrocious role in Spider Man 2 PS5, Alan Wake 2, Suicide Squad etc.
yeah you can fell that. Modern activist who thinks shes cool and rebelious while actually being very dumb and harmfull
People liked Alan wake 2

If the turkey is the worst part man it must be cooked wrong.
Hah, that shot at Shameik Moore lmao
if they turned RIck into an electro variant, that wouldve been a better villain idea
Just noting
Spider-Man 1 - 44 missions
Spider-Man: Miles Morales - 17 missions
0.38 the length of Spider-Man 1 by missions alone
How many missions does Spider-Man 2 have

The writing hasn’t been the same since the first game makes me worry about the wolverine game
In the comics, The Tinkerer is a weapons inventor/smuggler for supervillains.
Spiderman 2 story is equally bad. Without spoiling I'll say both peter and miles storywise aren't better in that second game.

It didn't copy the first game not even remotely what are you saying
