'Godzilla vs Hedorah was released in Japan in 1967. 1972 was the U.S. release. And if the film crew was dropping acid on ANY Godzilla film were 'dropping acid,' it was this one.
The summary of 'Giant Monsters All-Out Attack' was a total misread. Godzilla represented the souls of innocent people killed by Japan's WW2 aggression and brutality, which Japan has struggled with since the end of the War.
