I would be prouder of South Africa if they took the plight of their own people in the Congo and Sudan and all the other African nations that have suffered even longer than the Palestinians have, and offered them the same assistance you are given to the Palestinians. They have suffered longer and their needs have been totaled ignored. I don’t like seeing the Palestinian people suffer, but how come other Arab nations have not come forward and offered their assistance? They should be welcomed and taken in by other Arab countries. Why is this not happening? Africans go out of their way for everyone else except their own. And I have to say it, but these people don’t look very appreciative for the effort South Africa has put into protecting their survival. When people go out of their way for you, they at least look appreciative. I’m not feeling the love, from these people, that should normally come with such a hospitality extended out from another people.

As a South African, 100% agree with you on your statement about Africa. We're helping in Congo - working alongside the UN with SADC. However, where Sudan is concerned, it's gut renching. Sudan is facing a proxy war with the involvement of: the USA, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iran, Russia (Ukraine in the mix hunting Wagner mercenaries!) and France. The Arab Sudanese have been attacking our African Sudanese brothers and sisters. The violence faced by women and children is a horror on another level. Our former President Thabo Mbeki has tried to intervene, however, we cannot fight a battle on two fronts.
With regards to Palestine, we have a duty to them. The PLO supported our freedom fighters during apartheid and we are therefore honouring a promise we made.
Again, I must agree with you on your views regarding the Arab and Muslim world, they are a contemptible people and lack all honour. At the end of the day, we as a nation have overcome 300 years of brutal colonization and 56 years of savage apartheid, knowing our history, we had no choice but to stand up when the rest of the world was too afraid to do so. Whether we're thanked or shown appreciation for what we've done, is neither here nor there to us; the important thing is that we've behaved honorably when it mattered most.
12 February 2024 South Africa contributes troops to SADC mission to the DRC In fulfilling South Africa’s international obligation towards the Southern African Development Community (SADC) mission to support the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), President Cyril Ramaphosa ordered the employment of 2900 members of the South African National Defence Force to assist in the fight against illegal armed groups in the Eastern DRC. The employment will cover the period from 15 December 2023 to 15 December 2024 and it was authorised in accordance with the provisions of section 201(2) (c) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. The budgeted expenditure to be incurred for the employment amounts to just over R2 billion. This expenditure will not impact provisions for the defence force’s regular maintenance and emergency repairs. The obligation to contribute troops to the SADC mission in the DRC is borne by all SADC Member
