Naledi Pandor is so right - how could anyone say anything against her? I have full empathy with the people of Palestine, and nothing will stop the people of the U.K. continuing to protest about injustice, racism etc. - whatever the government of the day has to say. The word ‘terrorism’ is used how and whenever it suits the establishment here - in the same way that they have changed laws, and ignored high court judgements when it has suited them. It’s a shame we can’t have a sort of world government in which ministers are drawn from all over the world - I do hope that if this were ever to come to pass, Ms. Pandor would consent to be part of it. How lucky South Africa is, to have her.

I'm white, with a little bit of Cherokee on both sides, but can't trace it yet because it used to be illegal to be Cherokee outside the reservation in Oklahoma, so nobody broadcast their genealogy if they wished to remain "free". My maternal family has lived in northeastern Alabama, southern Appalachia, for 194 years, & I've had a love/hate relationship with my homeland my entire life. Despite strip mining & companies pouring chemicals in our streams, our rolling hills & mountains are still beautiful. There has always been racism here. My maternal grandfather, who once spoke out in favor of African- American civil rights, which resulted in a cross being burned in his yard. I am proud to say that my daughter, who is in university now, is participating in the Pro-Palestinian movement on her campus.
