Love him! One of my highest moments on this earth was playing a solo in front of Fred and seeing video later of him smiling and diggin it. Grateful for FW!
How great to have video proof!
Wesley is the king of funk on the trombone. Excellent transcription.
Mad respect for FRED WESLEY, my very favorite funk trombone player
First solo I ever learned, still is a complete banger
So happening! And one of the sweetest people.
It doesn't get any better than that folks.

Is he playing a Bb trombone or a C trombone?
Regular Bb
is this transcription in Bb??
@@tired108 It's in Concert D minor, bass clef.
I wish I could say I was impressed…. But I’ve heard dozens of trombonists do just as good as this.
Possibly, but Fred did it first. He blazed the trail that others follow.
I’d hardly call it a trail. It’s funk pop music at best
It's jazz fusion bro lmao. He was one of the OGs of it, I don't get what you're hating on.@@jonburton1935
An intergalactic tribunal of musical Cluelessness convenes its Funk Advisory Panel once a year. I want to congratulate you -- they have decided to award you a special prize. Your complete inability to honor the Funk and denigrate one of the funkiest geniuses to ever come down the pike was particularly striking. You do know that James Brown only called out two people to solo --- Maceo and Fred. He also played with Count Basie. Once again congrats.
