Mine was the same including the Gh National Fire Service Building Certification. But it's all good though. Keep up the good job. You guys are doing wonderful.
The electric system you had with the backups, Interest me. Can it be tied to a solar system? Would like to be off grid if possible.

Hey Amoaa, I’ll be in Ghana in 6 weeks & I’ll be there for a month! I wanted to buy land but more specifically, I’m interested in building something like this on the land I’ll purchase in the next few weeks. How did I get in contact with Kingsley? All that bribing is not helping the country.
The unfortunate thing is these were prices stated as official by the Assembly office before you paid them. They will even give you the breakdown on an official Assembly letterhead to make you believe that's the real deal just before you pay.
However, when it's time for the official receipt after the permit is ready to be picked up, they issue it for significantly less than the amount paid (in my case about one-third). At that point good luck arguing with them and getting your money back. You might ruffle some wrong feathers and end up being "taken out" before someone loses their job.
Sad but true but we learn to live today and fight another day regarding some of these transactions when building or doing business in Ghana.
@@deeeball As a American interested in building in Ghana, knowing I would have to deal with the situation is a real downer. Purchasing a pre-built house is so a turn off because if you are recognized as a foreigner, I am sure they will overcharge. As Ashe said it is better to build. I would love to do my retirement in Ghana, the people have been so nice during my visits. That is why I find it so hard to believe that some of the craftsmen have been so difficult to honor their contracts.
@@5504berry I think you are still better off building than buying if you want to save money. I have heard some horror stories about the pre-built homes sold by some of these estate developers in Ghana. Things start breaking down a few years after you move in.
Building on your own has its own challenges but like Kingsley rightfully said, it beats buying hands down. You get to customize things to your taste and, also control and verify the process. The headache is definitely worth it. It's a bittersweet experience to be honest.
Don't give up your dreams. There are definitely some qualified craftsmen in Ghana you can use. If you are even lucky to find someone who had formal training as a craftman that also helps a lot. There are even some craftsmen who were trained in Ghana by the Germans in their vocational trades and those are amazing.
Keep watching RUclips and keep a list of people who were used successfully on other people's projects. I did the same and so far it's been going great albeit a few hiccups.
Never give up on those Ghana retirement dreams!
