A man can make you feel good for a night, but a real man can make you feel good for life
The late great Teddy Pendergrass on lead vocals, the reason Harold Melvin was jealous! 😂
Big facts
Jealous, on all their albums TP is pictured front & center plus the album would have the tittle : featuring Teddy Pendergrass.....Harold Melvin was the manager.
@@carlitosortiz2870 Only ONE album ever said "Featuring Teddy Pendergrass." The last album Teddy did with Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes (Wake Up Everybody) did NOT say that. Teddy ultimately left because of fights with Harold Melvin over credit...and MONEY. Leaving was the best thing for him, because he absolutely blew up when he went solo, and this group eventually fell off the face of the earth.
@@ProfitPathTV-zf6je Who's in the middle of all the album pictures, just cause TP made a business desicion that don't mean Harold Melvin was jealous, greedy yes but jealous?
@@ProfitPathTV-zf6je the reason TP was the lead singer was because Harold Melvin put him at lead singer...you're statement about jealousy makes no sense. TP didn't write the songs that made the Bluenotes famous.
Teddy P is a legend! One of the greatest Lead vocalists to ever walk on this earth! Rest in Heaven Teddy P!!! Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes are a truly great R&B/ Soul group!!!!!
Definitely not an over statement...dude was......well no words for now.
Nice video. I liked your reaction. The person singling lead in this song was Teddy Pendergast. I highly suggest listening and /or reacting to more of their songs. They had some great songs. Also, Teddy eventually went solo and had some great songs of his own, including Close The Door, Turn Off The Lights, T.K.O. and many more. His looks, music, and voice drove the ladies crazy. This group and era of music influenced me greatly.
Teddy PenderGRASS!
Teddy had a process in his hair, almost fooled me as to who he was.
You are 100 percent correct - we have to put our women on a pedestal in our music like the past.
different women, different times
The women back then knew they were women, possessed genuine femininity & respected men & masculinity & all that entails. Blame the "strong independent don't need a man" women embraced for men ceasing to sing this way.
@@BegodeEx30 - I would agree with you for the most part, but I still blame us men for glorifying dominance, money, and power over women. It's not what a man is all about.
@thuizar Besides the already greedy wealthy who are destroying this world the average man doesn't glorify money nor seek dominance over anyone, feminist minded women do that. Intelligent men only seek to be the very best man they individually can be, not in competition with anyone but the man in the mirror & only desire women to respect that. With that said, men will be wise not to pedestalize women, none are worthy of being glorified, glorification belongs to God Almighty alone, not some mortal flawed woman, nor mortal man.
The lead singer on this song is Teddy Pendergras. You should react to Teddy Pendergras song called... "You're My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration".
Lloyd Parks sets this song off with the falsetto. Gives me goosebumps every time
teddy bear, is teddy Pendergrass, he used to be the lead singer for them before he went solo
Teddy was the best male vocalist of the seventies. His voice was full of Soul and power.
The LEGENDARY Blue Notes featuring THEODORE PENDERGRASS aka the voice
This called soul music & lyrics
YOU ARE ON FIRE TODAY ASHLEY ❤️
Imagine Teddy was only 22 years old when he sing this song.
for your old school playlist, make sure you put the studio [long version] on. You will be beyond satisfied. And than start reacting to Teddy Pendergast who is the lead on this song. keep up the good reactions.
Babygirl this is why we called it baby making Music!!!!!
The whole towns laughing at me is another good song
Love your content women like you are worthy of music like this
The Lead singer was Teddy Pendegrass, now deciest. After going out on his own he was in a car accedent that left him without the use of his legs. Later after learning to drive a van with hand controls, he was in another crash that paraized himdown from the neck down. He died a few years after.
Teddy is singing lead on this track, every man back in the day had this on 8-track or cassette, we would play it after we messed up!
You have an "old soul". God bless!
That’s Teddy Pendergrass honey. Harold was the low life that stole from the group so Teddy Pendergrass went out on his own. Classic tune, and the soundtrack to my youth. I love your reaction videos, they’re so authentic!❤
Hi Ms. Ashley,
You've won me over. Your channel is lit. You know how to talk that talk. I feel your vibe to the music's message. Keep up the good work. I will tell others about you. Enjoy your day.
Nothing like that 70's R&B
Theodore (Teddy) Pendergrass was the lead singer of the Blue Notes prior to his excellent solo career.
One of my favorite songs by him which I still listening to often is "The whole towns laughing at me".
Girl I. Was 17 years old when I. First started listening to this. Song. And I 58 years old. And. Still listen. To. This men. Back. Then use. To. Cry. A. Real. Man. Will. Cry. For. Is. Women ❤ and. The. Man. Singing. The song. His. Name. Is. Teddy ❤️⭐️⭐️❤️
That's right! I'm a 70 's women back then you had to know how to sing or should I say "Sang!! Lol, both my dad and my brother had band back then and there was so much competition but I wouldn't change a thing ❤️ A good song for you to listen to is You're sweet, Fine and everything by Tomorrow's Promise, you'll love it!!
I can’t get over Teddy Pendergrass hair ! 😂
😂😂😂😂
That's my main man. Listen to this one by him. " Tell the world how I feel about cha baby "
Great request! There's so much great music from the 60' and 70's! We certainly slow danced to this tune holding each other close. There was a lot of baby making music back in the day🤗 By the way, that's Teddy Pendergrass singing lead. He went on to have a very successful solo career. You should react to Close The Door Teddy. Another baby making song 😊
I've looked at a few of your reactions and you really get it about how people sang from the heart back then. Like what Dennis Edwards (Rip) of The Temptations once said, "back in those days we sung about love."
You're absolutely right about how the men back then sang about getting their woman back no matter what it took. Some months ago I was watching a couple of young folks react to *_The Temptations Ain't Too Proud to Beg._* When lead singer David Ruffin sang the lines:
"If I have sleep on your doorstep all night and day just to keep you from walking away.
Let your friends laugh even this I can stand. I want to keep you anyway I can."
They weren't having it. They were like 'What? 'Sleep on your doorstep all night long?' Ain't no way. It ain't happenin.' Figuratively they just didn't get it. It wasn't so much about sleeping on the doorstep literally. The singer was letting his woman know that he was wrong and no matter how foolish it looked trying to get her back he's willing to go through it. So these young fellas today, not all of them, but a lot of them have no concept of what it means to hold on to their ladies.
I’m old timer, but I sure like your flow! This brings back memories.👍🏽
Lead singer Teddy & the one holding them notes Lloyd Parks I thank you from the depths of me ❤
I thought you already drinking it Ashley your reaction is priceless
songs from the late 60's-70's came from experiencing real heart ache
That was my jamm❤..yes I was 10yrs old listening to this.

This one is always nice to hear👍🏾
35 kids!!
Lovely...the groups name is Harold Melvin&The Blue Notes..but most amazing talent coming out of the group was the incomparable,Teddy Pendergrass---The M.J...from the J5s..period!!!He did most of the predominate singing and starter!
Hey Ashley, new follower here. This group is from Philly, my home. The lead singer, singing this song is Teddy Pendergrass. He was one of the best R&B singers of all time. Do yourself a favor and listen to these songs:
The Whole World is Laughing at Me.
Love TKO
Wake Up Everybody
Close The Door
When Somebody Loves You Back
Turn Off The Lights
Baby....You have no idea how that music calibrated men and women, and you are correct. We had to earn it back in the day, and we respected our women. AND, they respected themselves. Love that you're finding our grooves. Enjoy!
One of my favorite all-time videos featuring the incomparable Teddy Pendergrass🔥🔥🔥
I wonna feel like this made them boys feel good ❤ “O I”!
That singer is Teddy Pendergrass, Please check out more of his songs.😊
That falsetto from the start will blow your mind and Teddy comes in after and stank it all up❤️❤️❤️ Sangggg yall
🤣🤣🤣Lady… I love your reactions. They were live n direct and you funny as hell wid it too…
Keep it up.
I Love that you’re actually able to articulate what it is that’s going on in the heart n minds of emotional beings, being touched by emotional beings in the right way. You nailed it in so many levels. I was creasing 😅😂😂😂 Messing up his name n all, just added to the authenticity ❤️
One of the greatest soul singers of all time!...Teddy Pendergrass..periodttttt!!!
This is the late great teddy pendergrass, 😮 he had a outstanding solo career as well
Young sister I love your comments and your thoughts keep doing what you do it's refreshing to hear someone young with the old mentality
The Dells Stay In My Corner (Live circa 1972) - Great Vocals
Yes, we kill it, love making music.
That Teddy Pendergrass singing the song. He eventually went solo.
Girl you are feeling this music...that is Teddy Pendergrass singing
People wonder why I am the man I am today? Easy answer,I grew up on soul music like I became soul music literally.
Teddy bear Pendergrass n the bluenotes
OK. Ashley. Repeat after me. "Teddy P. Fooled Me".
Lol.
You had that right...they made a ton of kids back in the day. Sadly the only individual that lives till this day is the individual that starts it off with the vocals.
Back in the days the quality was never in the video it was always about the music🎶💯❤️
Teddy Pendergrass 😍😍😍😍
Lead is Theodore Pendergrass. (Teddy, is what they call him😂)
You wasn't even thought of yet❤❤❤❤😅😂
RIP Teddy
Because men raised the boys, not the other way around.💯
Teddy Pendergrass was a beast (lead singer). He went on to have a legendary solo career.
Check out The Dells. Marvin Jr. greatly influenced Teddy P. Songs: Give Your Baby A Standing Ovation & Stay In My Corner.
I love both versions Teddy P & Mr. Ruffin
Btw thats teddy pentergrass singing lead
And you know it like a poet!
Fact check... That was Teddy Pendetgrass on lead vocals and Lloyd Parks , who by the way is the last living Blue notes survivor, I'm Michael Banks and I sang with the Blue notes, with Bernard Fullen jr. Out of Florida.... Thank you... I love your song selection...
Wow. That’s incredible.
I love your reaction to the music you like or should I say LOVE
if you can fund the full 20 minute broadcast......WHEW. YT took it down a few months ago. Beyond heartbroken. good stuff, Ashley!
A lot of the older groups of the 60s took the name of the founder, where as Teddy Pendergrass was a group member and the lead singer, but Harold Melvin tended to be more of the business man and the group was named thusly. Teddy was also not an original member of the group. If I remember correctly, there was talk of renaming the group to Teddy Pendergrass and the Bluenotes as they got bigger but instead Teddy set out on his own and had a fantastic career as a soloist and he is a must for future videos. Sadly Teddy had a car wreck after becoming a solo performer and was left paralyzed. He is one of the greatest singers of any era.
Love it...they had you making the stank face all the way thru. That's good music right there.
And we still treat them the same way.
I've never seen Teddy's hair like that. Try "If you don't know me by now" by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes. Also, the women with 25-35 kids were also listening to Barry White, just saying.
That was music music back then oh yes❤
The Teddy Bear!
That’s Teddy Pendergrass singing lead
I'm enjoying your reactions to old school music. I think you'll enjoy "Stairway to Heaven," by The Ojays, it's soul and raw emotion.
Lead singer was the legendary Teddy Pendergrass, who went solo in 1976, and was one of the biggest soul artists of the 1970s. Teddy would have ladies only concerts, and women in the crowd would throw their panties at him.
The high pitched cat cut that last teddy P holler 😂😂
Thats Teddy Pendergrass
singing with them.
He went solo afterward! He has some bangers!
The recording is even better
Teddy on the lead, I never knew that. Now wonder I love this song because of him. But that intro babbbbby! This is what I use to tell my ex all I been doing is drinking, crying and dying lol .
This is Teddy Pendergrass singing lead vocals. Harold Melvin is leader of the group. It's the Sound of Philadelphia at It's best. What blows my mind is the brother singing the high note in the background
If at all possible...Please do some live videos!!! You will enjoy them more!
Lady, you need to listen to "If You Don't Know Me By Now", by the Bluenotes.
Enjoyed this live version, but the album version is definitely worth listening to
Ashley, I had totally forgotten that Teddy Pendergrass had wormed his hair like that. I’m so glad you reviewed this one, and glad he cut his hair. He’s not Harold Melvin though. Great review. I love your authentic, spontaneous expressions.
Watch the SOULTRAIN SHOW either them singing this.
No that's not Harold Melvin. That's Teddy Pendergrass. Remember, at the beginning of the video, Harold call TeddyTeddy Bear. He was the lead singer of the group until he went solo. He went on to make hits like "Turn off the light" Close the Door' and "It don't hurt now" just to name a few.
The Free Movement - I found Someone of my Own
Hello Ashley-
Pendergrass career was suspended after a March 1982 car crash left him paralyzed from the chest down. Pendergrass continued his successful solo career until announcing his retirement in 2007. He died from respiratory failure in January 2010.
That’s Teddy Pendergrass singing, Harold Melvin is a singer too, it was Harold Melvin’s group
You have a new subscriber. You need to hear the 8 min version. That’s Mr Teddy Pendergass leading.
Harold Melvin and Teddy Pendergrass (I just murdered the spelling of his name) shared lead vocals on most of their popular songs.
The late great Teddy Pendergrass on lead vocals, the reason Harold Melvin was jealous!
No sweetheart, the lead on this and a majority of their songs is Teddy Pendergrass. This was before he went out on his own. Our music back then was DEEP and ROMANTIC👍🏾💯
Check out David Ruffin's rendition as well. Their both excellent!
The lead singer (with the hair) was the late great Teddy Pendergrass. Harold Melvin was the leader of the group.
We love hard and deep back then. I don't know what's wrong with the youngins today
