This is a knife that was requested /polled on the Spyderco Forums that snowballed out of control...even beyond the wildest expectations. Amazing to watch...great video with helpful info. Good job
That is why Spyderco is my favorite knife company. The Customer relation to the company is incredible.. The fact that he browses the forums and they listen to their customers is so amazing. I actually have two Chris Reeves that I'm about to sell or at least one of them and other than that my whole knife collection is Spydercos. They are pure performance, newest, highest performing steels all the time. They are an unbelievable company. Great video Found your channel a couple weeks ago. Awesome content.
Couldn't have said it better myself, Pretty much sums up my feelings on Spyderco. I started out (in this hobby)buying from most of the top brands, But now 8/9 out of 10 are from the Golden company Thank you for watching and your comment!
I agree on all your points Evolancer. I am going to sell my Medford’s, and most of my others to concentrate on my Spyderco collection as well. Totally sold on the brand.
That is a beauty, for absolutely sure! Thanks for making the video. I love seeing it, over and over again. It's my very first Shaman. I'm glad I waited. On all of my knife canvas Micarta. I now always put a light coat of food grade mineral oil on (laxative section, in the pharmacy:) It keeps the dirtier hand oil, from soaking in. Plus, it keeps the 'under the pocket-clip area'. Matching the rest of the knife. 👍🔪🍺😎
Thanks for everything Steve! I'm pretty impressed with the Micarta, Definitely has a nice "feel" to it. I'm looking forward to seeing which direction(steel) Spyderco goes with the second run! Also the Rex 45 Rosewood Shaman should be another winner. I'll try the mineral oil , Thanks for the tip. Have a great weekend sir!
Awesome video! I'm almost 3 years late but Knife Joker has there exclusive Shaman with the DLC blade in Cruwear available again for $234. Had additional points from a previous purchase which lowered the price further. Surprisingly they are still available 7 hours after I received the email from KJ, it's not selling as fast as the REC Shaman did but I'm truly happy with my purchase. Thanks for sharing and hope your doing well brother!
I got that email notification too, Think it's 3rd time in stock. Congrats on your new Shaman D N, That exclusive is one of the best. Hope you and your family are well. Thanks for watching
Watch the Blade Forums exchange and other forums as these come up from time to time! On secondary market they average$300-$350ish. Thanks for watching Tom
There is no B.S. on this knife , They only made 1,200 of these Shaman in Cruwear for the entire U.S. population and any buyers overseas of this knife. That is not a lot of knives ,so they are in high demand ,that and the excellent steel and micarta combo is very nice as a EDC and field carry knife . I was lucky to get mine after waiting a month on a pre order to get this Shaman , it is a very nice knife I like it very much. Even if someone buys this knife on ebay for a higher price you are getting a collectible knife that was made in limited numbers that is rare and a great user knife .
I've bought many exclusive /sprint run Spyderco knives! What I meant about the" BS" is the whining and complaining people on the forums (spyderco /blade forums ) about not getting this beautiful piece. The "idea" of a Sprint Run IS it's limited availability. Congratulations on your knife and thank you for watching.
@@knifevideochannel4657 I understand , Yes people will complain if they did not get a chance to get this knife , I did not mean to say anything negative on your comment in your video, Great video review on a great knife . The Sprint runs are very nice with the different steel and handle combinations. Keep up the excellent videos I subscribed , Happy Thanksgiving .Thank you.
I started out carrying Large, Heavy folders like ZT0909! I mostly wear cargo shorts and don't really notice the Shaman when carrying. If your used to a Bugout or other lightweight blades it may be a problem for you. Thanks for watching
Yes Sir, I talk about it at the 5:04 mark of the video. Probably Carpenters PD1# (99% the same as CPM Cruwear ) 3V, Or 4V. The run is getting doubled too, So most likely 2400 pieces! Thank you for watching
One question : mine arrived last week. Love the knife overall, but i have a flaw on the blade that i never had before : if you put it next to a proper light source, you can see that the grind of the blade ( not the edge, the full flat part) is uneven. It has a " bump" on it... Very small one, but because of the highly reflective satin finish is quite visible. I see something like that in yours too... Am i right?
Are you talking about the uneven grind lines(about where the flats stop) on the blade two thirds up the blade from the pivot? I've seen these on other spyderco knives! Mine is not reflecting (changing ) light , So no bump just grind line irregularity. If you watch my video on the Bow River (a few videos earlier ) that knife, Has a warped blade and a bump/bent section towards the tip, That redirects light. Thank you for watching
@@knifevideochannel4657 yeah, possibly we are talking about the same thing, but when you hold the blade between your fingers and move it you can feel a slightly bumping section. Really small one but its not perfectly even. No problem just strange.

Spec wise the shaman sounds big but how does it carry? Does it feel as big as it sounds on paper?
