U described Mike mentzer training style which he was doing when he was a bodybuilder. Later on when he became a trainer his approach to hit was completely different. He preached to do only one set while u r saying 1 or 2 set. He said going from 1 set to 2 set is the biggest mistake you can do. Also he said as u r growing stronger the chances of over training also increases so he advised to increase the rest period from 3 to 4 days , 4 to 5 days and so on. He said some of his trainees were showing phenomenal results in training once every 2 weeks

It is heavy duty 2 explanation...this is the style which I been training and it works like magic...but complete failure is necessary & ofcourse a good diet...its great to see our Indian brothers keep an eye on it..

First i used to do high volume like everyone then i shifted to PPL still i followed a high volume as i was still learning about training then i reduced a bit of a volume after 1 and half years i started to see muscle growth....then i started to high intensity training where i just do 2 to 3 sets max for a muscle group...and i saw a better growth than high volume training....i pushed each set to complete muscle failure by keeping time under tension of 3 sec positive and 4 second negative.... maybe my body handles low volume training with a high intensity ofc i didn't know this earlier but im glad that i found out this method of training

yes!✋️Because of my work schedule and time with family. I was doing the same schedule without even knowing same kind of exercise. And I'm 31 now. But I'm carrying almost the same amount of muscle That I was carrying when I was fully dedicated to fitness in my early 20s. so it works for me..

One things about this training is that you are really close to injury, reason being pushing even beyond failure. At a bad day if your muscle was not engaged enough at the end and ligaments and joints took over, its game over. Again, this was the reason he emphasized sucha long rest

back when i joined my first gym anytime fitness in Gujarat, my trainer rolled very similar mikes heavy duty type workout for 3 months straight and when i returned to my hometown after that no one was able to recognize me because of the amount of mass i had filled in my body. my weight was only 70 kg when i joined and after 3 months i was at 79 kg with massive gains in power and size. (i was lifting weights at home before this and did endurance cardio at home before this.)
Dorian Yates 6x mr. olympia was one of the examples of Heavy duty training approach on the other hand tom platz ( quad father) and jay cutler too were high intensity trainer but with high volume

I think we need to try both type of training method. And check which one work for us, That one become your core program. And use other programs for interchanging or something new for the body.
