Best review I've seen also, a lot of information in not too long a vid, thanks much! Btw thks for noting the proprietary battery & taking a look inside.
Well explained, I'm thinking about purchasing this light. Just not crazy about the angle bracket, seems a bit weak, I would just use the blue cable. Thanks for the video.
I put my bracket in a convenient location in my workshop. It has held up well. Mounted with included screws, though. Agreed.... even the instructions say the adhesive isn't intended to last long.
Might still be a good time to buy the S2 Pro at half hte cost of the S3 Pro. They still had stock last month. Does pretty much everything the S3 Pro does (less 1000 lumens, and a proximity sensor...not important ...to me). Ever to see what Olight does (or doesn't) if/when they put out the replacement for the S3 Pro this year....they just put the B3 Pro Max on sale today (Jan 10th, 2023). Grip--something worth mentioning. Matters almost as much as hving the "right UI". why I prefer lgihts with a "long body length" of about 5" plus....I'd like to see 5.5-6" in the S3 Pro Max....like lights tail to extend slightly past the ridge of my palm for my size L glove hands. Odd most manufacturers are staying under 5.5" for their "lrger hand-held" lights. ...I don't know if this is because everyone buys their flashlight bodies from 1-3 suppliers in China....who only makes bodies of a certain length. Shrug.
Great video to watch and very good review. Is it still worth buying if you own the seeker 2? I've got the Olight Seeker 2 and just wondering if I should upgrade. Some say seeker 2 is actually better than pro. This one does look very nice and compact size. Both seeker 2 and pro look stylish so an upgrade is needed? Longer turbo times is what people want and I hope Olight will do that in future. Like a 15 min turbo would be alot better than few mins.
While it is true the olight seeker 2 has a negative post on the same side of the battery for charging, That is only for the charging. It still uses the much stronger negative connection near the head of the light for the negative post during use. Those little negative contacts on the cap side are not good enough to carry the amps used during light operation. This is important due to this one fact. I can verify that the 21700 protected 5000mah button top battery from orbtronics will run this flashlight just fine. As long as the length of the battery is the same, and the button top is pronounced enough, a protected, button top 21700 battery will work with the button top pointing toward the cap. A lot of chargers are not capable of charging these batteries due to the 75mm length but some will. A Hometech Homeschool 4 bay usb charger will, and it is 18 bucks at 18650BatteryStore. The 21700 orbtronic protected 5000 mah battery are 11.99 each at the orbtronic website. You can not charge those batteries in the flashlight as there is an insulator where the negative is on the modified 21700 batteries. This is not unsafe, but the battery must be the same length, and most protected buttontop batteries will be. So in spite of what some believe, you are not forced to buy the 26 dollar olight modified battery. Underneath the cover the battery used by orbtronic is probably the same battery. Orbtronic likely soldered a thin washer on top of an insulator to the side of the battery to get the negative there for their fancy magnet charger. One more advantage is the hometech charger will be at 2 amps on the outside bays if that is the only battery being charged. PS::: I just tried, and the Hometech charger will also charge the Olight modified battery...just unplug the usb until the battery is firmly seated, and that will also give you 2 amp charging in the outside slot.
I just was pointing out the turbo runtime is exceptional. In the vid you seem to express that the turbo runtime is below par. Everything I have that is above 3000lm turbo has considerably shorter run times on turbo. Meant no offense. Your reviews are generally among the best on RUclips.
Proprietary battery (replacement costs over 30 Euros), proprietary charger and the charger takes very long to charge and no real moonlight-mode as well as clip... all that for 160-ish Euros. No, thanks.I rather pass on the lens cleaning cloth and get a proper flashlight that doesn't have such nice looks, but an Anduril UI for a fifth of the price.
I just test charging my S1R baton with old charger and MCC 1A it works. Same charger same light with MCC 1A/1.5A/2A doesn’t charge. Both on PD or QC charges don’t charge. Stop telling bs and just try it
I have tested it, the MCC2 charger is backwards compatible. You don't get the speed benifit on the older lights. None of them are qc or PD (only a USB-C thing) compatible. Best of luck
@@jonrubio2993 Paul has no idea what he's talking about. All high Lumen flashlights have a step down after a short amount of time. That's to protect the light! These things get really hot and will destroy the flashlight if it maintained that Lumen level for very long.
This is the best review I’ve watched on this flashlight. Good job! I just bought one and waiting for it to ship.
Thank you!
Wow, super detailed description and photography. Thanks!

Great review..i agree with you, glad you mentioned the PWM nobody seems to say that..it makes me dizzy looking at it.
Ya I only notice it when I'm moving it around and see it but it really sticks out
@@LiquidRetro Even if you move it allitle...Nitecore TUP is the same..glad you keep it real.
Great review.This Seeker 2 Pro L-Dock also is suitable for Olight S1R / S1R II / S10R III / S2R / S2R II / S30R III / H1R / H2R / M2R / Warrior X.

The bracket itself is fairly strong, I don't think it would work very well with just adhesive to the wall
I put my bracket in a convenient location in my workshop. It has held up well.

How would you replicate the electrical connection if you whipped up one on your 3D printer?

Probably not, thry are pretty similar. I did a video on both and compared them in one of the two.
Veeeerrryy nice review :)
How many recharges can you get out of this cell?
Should be over 1000

i have the seeker 2 pro and i would of loved it even more if it included a belt clip
A clip would keep this unit from rolling away. I still need an addition to my Olight family though.
I know what you mean
3200 lumens, that's cra . Nice description
No light this size runs longer on turbo! 2 minutes! Shouldn’t you know this?
I agree, not sure what your saying. Personally I would trade less lumens for a longer runtime before step-down

Olight magnetic cable is a piece of junk. No charging with PD or QC charger. 1A and 2A cables are not compatible
The different cables are cross compatible, almost no flashlights take advantage of PD or qc to charge.
@@LiquidRetro no 2A cable cannot charge smaller flashlights i tried it.
Test it .........

Magnetic tail caps keep me from buying one.
That's your loss man.
Curious to why having a magnetic tailcap is a disadvantage to you. I've found it extremely handy in my S1 and S1 Mini.
@@fpscrash1992 I've owned them but screwed with my compass and magnified things in my gear.
Basically design is pretty crap when it comes to light output. 3200 lumens only for 2 minutes on turbo this is nothing special at all..
What’s a better choice then... that runs longer... at that level... and at that size?

And it comes with pocket clip. Well u have to buy it but they sell it for 5
It doesn't come in the box so it wasn't mentioned. At the time of reviewing a clip wasn't a reality yet.
