- Lossy. It's a thing that most of you, if like me was unfamiliar with the Goodhertz plugin, didn't fathom needing, nor immediately differentiate this from the likes of Gen Loss and similar pedals. But oh my, after listening to the first few clips to surface I was an instant convert and couldn't wait to get my hands on one. Thanks so much to Scott from CBA for sending it downunder!
So, Lossy is a museum of digital audio artefacts that anyone of my generation remembers from the turn of the last century. The early days of duplication digital versions of music, filming video on the first generation of phones that allowed it, and trying to have a coherent conversation on Skype, were all frought with badly compressed audio, dropouts, sound smearing and all around poor quality. Little did I know that one day I would find all those sounds endearing and want to splash them around my tunes!
Lossy encapsulates the overall sonic scape of these sounds and lets you combine moments from them together to make a musical tool out of disturbance, interruption and digital failure. Enjoy!

Aww, that closing track is another tearjerker, and the perfect case-use scenario for Lossy. The opener was great too, very much your sound, and it took me a minute or two to realise it was in 7/8. I liked the visuals this time too, evocative and well-suited to the sounds. Seriously, this is the first video that has made me actually want this pedal. Thanks... I think?
Thanks heaps, it was one of those sessions where I didn’t need to have very clear paths to tread for each section, just kinda rolled with it. The end piano bit deserves some fleshing out into a real track

Fantastic video that really showcases how this incredible effect can be used. I wanted to mention though that you made a mistake when listing the "modes" switch around 3:50. Left on the mode switch is "Inverse" and middle is "Standard". Otherwise, great video all around!

CBA just discontinued 4 “normal” pedals and keeps digging deeper and deeper into this glitchy bloopy blippy style toy sounds. I hope that pays off for them. Just got a used Brothers and it’s great.
The discontinuation was somewhat forced, there is a component in the 5 pedals that were cut that has been deemed non compliant in the EU due to it having a toxic element at its core, so Joel made the decision to discontinue now before more are made and other parts of the world rule that component and anything containing it to be a hazard. I imagine we’ll see some more conventional pedals from them moving forward.
I'm going to wait for a non pink version for now.
