#115 Echo Fix - EF-P3 Chorus Vibrato
It's a treat to work with most brands and I consider myself lucky to have the opportunity, but to do it for a brand that I've made afriends with and meet in the flesh, is even better. The team at Echo Fix are some of the sweet people I've had the pleasure of meeting, and Shane, the owner, is a true gem.
So, to the demo, the Echo Fix EF-P3 Chorus Vibrato is an excellently crafted BBD analog circuit which has been painstakingly designed down to the last component. There are zero bad sounds in this thing, and although it doesn't get quite as crazy as some of it's contemporaries, it always inspires and makes you want to leave it on way too much! Enjoy!

#114 Kodex Audio - Lux
Просмотров 796Месяц назад
Sometimes, with minimal controls, maximum effect can be had. The Kodex Audio (formerly Ground FX) Lux is a perfect example of this! The Lux is a plate reverb with two switchable modes, each with independent Mix and Decay. It can be subtle, or it can go on for minutes, it can be the cream on top of a good tone to add a little space, or it can be a massive wall of complex, dense ambience. Everyon...
#113 Diffractor Soundings - Chromatic Journey
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.Месяц назад
My first foray into the works of Diffractor Soundings was their feature rich Tremolo, the Arboretum, which was a heap of fun. Today I'm blessed with the Chromatic Journey, a phaser with so many features and ways to control parameters that it really is a near bottomless pit of phasing delight. As is my current trend, this film is quite a long one with a lot of nuts-and-bolts info up front, but i...
#112 Pladask Elektrisk - Etterslep
Просмотров 3,6 тыс.Месяц назад
There are no days quite like Pladask days... and today is one of those! It gives me extreme joy to showcase the excellent Etterslep from my friend Knut of Pladask Elektrisk in Norway. This 'big brother' to the Baklengs is a granular synthesis delight, which hosts a suite of effects spanning ambience, granular delay, tapped delay line, looping, pitchshifting, octaving, time stretching and more! ...
#111 Earthquaker Devices - Silos
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.2 месяца назад
Today I have my first opportunity to demo for one of my oldest brand loves, the ever prolific Earthquaker Devices! Their latest release, Silos - Multi-Generational Time Reflection Device, is the next offering in their new ‘preset’ format, and features a suite of classic delay/echo flavours, with simplistic controls, flexible expression assignements and of course, presets! Lots of repeatedly ple...
#110 Chase Bliss Audio - Onward
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.2 месяца назад
So, rewind a few months, I had built the latest version of my pedalboard which I thought was the utter pinnacle of creative pedaling. Lots of sections that acheived special tasks, but at its heart was a 4-pedal ection that I relied upon for multiple purposes. It comprised of the Cooper FX Signal Path Selector, with the EHX Pico Deep Freeze, set fully wet, running into the Fjord LOKE on one side...
#109 Great Eastern FX Co. - XO Variable Crossover
Просмотров 6563 месяца назад
With the popularity of parallel blending it nice to see an offering that comes from a different angle, blurring the usual lines as well as blurring some frequencies in the process. The XO Variable Crossover from UK based Great Eastern FX CO. is a new take which involves splitting the low frequencies from the highs, feeding them to two fx loops which can host whatever pedals or processors you li...
#108 Glou-Glou FX - Flancher 5B & Flancher 5D

It's a happy day when Olivier from Glou-Glou sends you an email and says he's been cooking up four new pedals for the last two years and he'd like to send you a couple to work with! The French pedal builder is known for creating devices that cover a conventional need but also go well beyond the bounds of what many other pedals on the market can offer. Enter the Flanchers!! I'm lucky enough to s...
#107 Diamond Pedals - Tremolo
Просмотров 7785 месяцев назад
Greetings! Diamond Pedals were one of the first, for lake of better word, boutique brands I ever had first hand experience with, and that experience was with the original Diamond Tremolo. It brings me much pleasure to showcase this new version from the reincarnation of Diamond Pedals, brought back to us by fellow Canadian pedalsmiths SolidGoldFX. Check it out in all its glory! Enjoy! Lossy. It's a thing that most of you, if like me was unfamiliar with the Goodhertz plugin, didn't fathom needing, nor immediately differentiate this from the likes of Gen Loss and similar pedals. But oh my, after listening to the first few clips to surface I was an instant convert and couldn't wait to get my hands on one. Thanks so much to Scott from CBA for sending it downunder! So, Lossy is a...
#105 Kodex Audio/Ground FX - GFX 91W Digital Delay
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.Год назад
When Ben from Kodex Audio in Hamburg let me in on his upcoming delay release I thought it looked cool and assumed it would sound great, but boy was I unprepared for just how deep and unusual this pedal is! Up to ten full seconds of delay, with tastful, slighty random modulation, and repeats that don't runaway at max but instead behave more like a looper. Like I nicknamed the LOKE the 'Dirty Dec...
#104 Bleak District Electric - Tapescape
Просмотров 4,1 тыс.Год назад
If you're unaware, Bleak District Electric is a small, homegrown brand out of the UK, and Phil, the guy at the helm, creates some really unique and quaint noise boxes ranging from gnarly fuzzes to lo-fi glitch effects. Today we explore Tapescape - Magnetic Ambience Generator, Phil's recreation of the darker and frankly more messed up side of tape delay. There's an absolutely beautiful palette o...
#103 Fjord Fuzz - Loke
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.Год назад
Y'all know I've been a fan of Fjord Fuzz from the earlier days! While fuzz isn't my number one effect I've always been drawn to Daniel's aesthetic and his meticulous approach to pedal building. But when the whisper came to me early on about what LOKE was going to be I just about lost my shit! All the aesthetic appeal of Fjord Fuzz surrounding an engine that I've affectionately called the 'Dirty...

The one thing, ONE THING I repeatedly said about the original Slö, was that it was my fave mono reverb, except I wished it had presets... then along comes Slötvå, and the one thing, ONE THING extra I really wanted was to hear that baby in stereo... Well, all our dreams have been answered! Walrus unveil the Slöer today! The glorious chew ambient textures we've loved for years from the predecesso...

A purely gorgeous attempt at taking amuch loved classic effect, and turning it into something quite incredible. Arb...

#90 Intensive Care Audio - Recovery Phase
Too mechanical and synthetically glitchy for me... Habbit is better for more natural sounds...
I really think it depends on your playing and the application. The modifiers are the same algorithms on both so I guess it depends on how you interact with them. I use blooper all the time live and I don’t think it comes across how you describe it, but I find my playing style makes Habit sound very clunky, I have to adapt my playing quite drastically to gel with habit. Horses for courses 🤷🏼♂️
Everyone’s demos are different but yours are always beautiful performances. I save yours for last for inspiration
What a nice comment! Thanks a bunch, happy to provide inspiration!
What a beautiful pedal
It’s really fantastic 👌🏼
does this do compression when there's nothing triggering the sidechain?
Nope it’s just a straight up ducking machine!
this is dope
Thank you sir!
I love the concept of this pedal. Unfortunately no internal preset changing ruins it for me.
That’s fair, I feel like there could have been an option for 3 or 4
@@ponderersounds3172 having never used one, is pitch shifting to half step down (minor 2nd) an option?
Sure is
@@ponderersounds3172 good to know. 👍 So half step down tuning on the fly is still possible.
Hey man, thanks for the video. I'm doing sound healing and figured using this pedal as well due to its lovely sound. My question - is there an option to freeze the reverb?
No not really, you could loop some verb though
Great sounds. What are you ramping at 00:32 ? Thanks
Just the low pass filter I reckon… this was a looooong time ago!
Not super impressed. Sounds cool, but I'm looking for something a little more... Good video though, thanks.
Horses for courses 🤷🏼♂️
I just got mine a couple of days ago and gigged with it. Thank you for validating my purchase.
You’re welcome! But I’m sure it validated itself 👌🏼
This or the ambient?😊
One of each! And melt away into oblivion ✌🏼
awesome !!
Cheers!
The piano and strings piece is gorgeous. Fits with the Disasterpiece I was just listening to. Love the last track too.
Thank you! I like the sound of disasterpieces 🤌🏼
I was hoping that this pedal would get into your hands!
🙌🏼❤️
Oh man that guitar piece of music at the beginning of this demo is so fucking choice
Haha thanks, had to be a good one because I knew there’d be a chunk of time using it, 8 minutes worth in the end! Thanks for watching!

So much dr33my

Brilliant demo! Looks like a complex pedal with all the interacting knobs but the sounds are heavenly. How do you actually sync these delays to your playing tempo is it through the clock or the loop?
You’ve just gotta dial the clock in right if you want it synced, but I think it’s best when it’s asynchronous 👍🏼
@@ponderersounds3172 Thanks, I don't mind slight asynchronicity just needed to know it can be roughly controlled to match the song's vibe!
Awesome!!! Thank you!❤
🙌🏼
wish this demo came out before the last batch sold out!
They move quickly don’t they!
I bought one on round one last year and love it. This is the best demo of Etterslep I've heard, so far! If you're in to Eurorack, the module version of this is Dradd. It's amazing too.
Thanks! I did get into eurorack for a while during covid but I abandoned it as it just took me way too long to make music on and I don’t have a heap of time I can dedicate to it so I sold it all and bought a new guitar haha
Stunning demo for a stunning pedal. Thank you so much!
Cheers! Thanks for hanging around!
Nice demo! I may have missed it in the video, but is it mono in / mono out?
It’s a mono pedal 👍🏼

nice demo :) there really were not any "good" demo videos about etterslep prior, but I knew I wanted to try this in my own personal creative flow from reading about it, and I've had my eye on it. I was kinda glad that the previous demos did not do it justice so I would have a chance to get one! Also I love the color combinations on the new ones with the yellow and hot pink knobs...some of my favorite colors to paint with! And these types of sounds are my favorite to paint with too, thanks for this more than decent demonstration, It comes at the perfect time for me!
Thanks for the kind words! Glad my work was helpful to you ✌🏼
Very close to my heart your (guitar) playing is. Where can i find some of your music?
It’s been a struggle to find time to work on music, and I’ve attempted a couple of times in the past, but just recently I’ve sketched out a few projects and I’m working on getting some stuff together. Stay tuned and there’ll be updates.
@@ponderersounds3172 I hear you. Me too, have had a hard time this past decade to get anything done, only now got around to finally trying to get comfortable with daws and midi and all that, when it was so easy about 20 to 30 years ago, i recorded a new piece every other day or week on my 4 track and then hard disc recorder..... i'll stay tuned.
Great demo of a great pedal!
Thank you sir!
First riff alone is purchase affirming, thank you kind sir 🤝
Ah kind words, thank you! Hope you get one!
Glad I bought one today
Congrats!! I know a few that missed out so lucky you 🤌🏼
Fantastic demo! This thing conjures up such incredible forests of fluttering delays 😊
Thank you! It really does! Instant favourite ❤️
What a fun weirdo!
I don’t know if you’re referring to me, or Knut who built it… I hope it’s both ✌🏼
Knut is awesome!
A true legend 🎉
This is like a big bowl of cookie dough ice cream for my ears. :)
Haha great analogy!
Great demo!!!!
Thank you EQD crew ✌🏼
Sounds nice! How would compare the analogue and tape sounds to like a flashback or DD8? Looking for a simple delay with both of those sounds
I think the voices of all modes are EQed excellently, they sound really great and don’t overpower even when they’re busy. The only thing I wish it had was some modulation control but I understand the desire to keep it as simple as possible.
Unreal, far beyond an ordinary demo!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
I just asked another effects maker, on eBay, if they made an experimental pedal that's based on Delay effects. I didn't know the name for these types of effects, though. Now, as soon as I return to YT, I'm faced with a _Granular_ effects device. Tell me 'they're' not watching! 👀 😂
Oh they are!! Just say ‘birdcage’ 20 times in 5 minutes and watch the adds appear 😂
@@ponderersounds3172 🤣
You're the first pedal reviewer I've seen run a sample through the pedal. That's amazing. Keep it weird, my friend.
One of my fave things to do ✌🏼
best demo of this little puppy, nicely done!!!
Cheers! Thanks for watching!
Don’t tell anybody, but your writing is my favorite among the pedal demoers 🤫 great progressions and voicings, and a decent amount of odd meter thrown in. Thanks for being you! 🙏🏿🙌🏿
Aw thanks my dude! It’s all about alternate tunings and the accidental odd meter 🤌🏼
@@ponderersounds3172 Absolutely! I regularly go back and listen to the opening and closing riffs from your Type One demo (might be my single fav demo I’ve ever watched!) and there’s a chord you play at the close of this video that takes me back to that
I keep buying these format pedals from EQD, it's pretty great to have this kind functionality. Great demo. Would be happy to hear the Ledges next.
They’re equally simplified and feature packed, it’s a nice format 👌🏼
This riff set is so good. Such a great video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and for the kindness!
CBA just discontinued 4 “normal” pedals and keeps digging deeper and deeper into this glitchy bloopy blippy style toy sounds. I hope that pays off for them. Just got a used Brothers and it’s great.
The discontinuation was somewhat forced, there is a component in the 5 pedals that were cut that has been deemed non compliant in the EU due to it having a toxic element at its core, so Joel made the decision to discontinue now before more are made and other parts of the world rule that component and anything containing it to be a hazard. I imagine we’ll see some more conventional pedals from them moving forward.
Awesome demo!
Thank you friend!
I love it so much
Cheers guys! Your turn soon 🙌🏼
@@ponderersounds3172 ohhhhhhhh yeah ♥♥
Very good demo of the pedal's capabilities
Thank you, glad you liked it!
@@ponderersounds3172 my pleasure
The long opening track (starts around 0:30) is so dreamy and crystalline, I fell asleep to it after a long day at work. Reminds me of Twin Peaks a little. And the last piece is another one of your tearjerkers. Beautiful clean tone too.
Ah thank you friend! Those were my two faves from this session.
@@ponderersounds3172 Oh and this is Bette btw. You probably thought you had a new fan!
Nah I clocked it before the name changed 😁
great job!!!
Cheers! ✌🏼
I really wish we could see what you're playing vs what Onward is doing. Helpful though; thanks.
The stuff I played was fairly simple, all the Onward extras over the top is most of what you’re hearing.
@@ponderersounds3172For this particular pedal it would’ve been better not to have multiple layers going.
Great musical demo, I'm undecided on buying the Onward as I already have the Hologram Microcosm, Hexe Revolver IV, Mood MK2, Blooper, Habit, and several iOS apps that do glitching and stutter, This pedal combines many of them but I can't still find a uniqueness to it despite sounding cool
I too have owned or still own a lot of those and others too, but Onward is probably the most responsive of them all. It’s effortlessly musical where others require careful playing and massaging to get them to work best.
@@ponderersounds3172 Yes, that's what I've seen, maybe I'll get it so I can have all of the others in a small single unit for a smaller pedalboard 👍🏻
