This work of art has a wonderful rugged beauty. I love the inclusion of a crow who would probably enjoy playing with cardboard and string. Thank you Lydia, you never fail to inspire me.
Wow girl, you are good!!! I am almost always dissatisfied with this type of videos because most people overwork their canvass -in my humble opinion-, but you are a natural, I think. Congratulations!
Wow so beautiful how it all comes together! Very inspiring. We have a lot of ravens where I live. They puff their feathers up this time of year because it's very cold out which makes them adorable
This looks wonderful. And I always appreciate a shoutout to the startlingly intelligent corvids which we're only scratching the surface of understanding :)
I just love your editing style and your art! Thanks for sharing your process with us. I’m sure you’ve inspired a lot of artists. Also nice to find another artist that loves texture. I usually use it for an accent, but it’s so cool how you push it so far.
Hello Sunshine! I have been away for a while, and just today I was thinking about texture and using some of the modelling paste I have, and I was recalling a painting of yours from quite some time ago! So cool that this showed up today. I love it!
New subscriber. I love you painting, its what I had in my head for the birds in my yard . I love the birds and have lots of photos . I'm very much into abstract and mixed media. Looking forward to looking at the rest of your videos.
Love this❤ actually I’m enthralled with everything you create.🤩 when the silly season is over I’m giving this a try. 😮 Happy holidays Lydia and wishing you a fun filled arty 2025 🧑🏻🎄🎄🎅🏻🥂🥳🥳
Wow! The texture and colors on this are absolutely gorgeous! I usually am not a fan of things that are dark in color like that but I absolutely love this!
Thank you for the inspiation, absolutely love your texture and crow. I needed a new direction for the new year and you have inspired me to make use of all stuff I know I'll find a use for! 😅
I absolutely love this! The crow is stunning, and I really appreciate you sharing your reasoning for not going too detailed-it adds so much character to the piece. I tend to get caught up in adding too much detail myself, so I’m working on finding that balance, and your approach is so inspiring. You’ve got me itching to pick up my brushes and try some mixed media techniques! I’ve never ventured into this style before, but your work has my creativity spinning with ideas. Keep being amazing-you’re such an inspiration!
I love how you go with the flow when you are creating. I do enjoy making art with crackle paste but its becoming so expensive and I use quite a bit. Would you mind my asking if you would share your recipe with your fans?
Hi Kate! So, I use a mixture of Powertex 3D flex powder and plain white gesso. I don't measure it out, I just get it to a consistency that I like for whatever project I'm working on. Once it's on my canvas, I mist it with water then blow dry for 5 min. The cracks start to form. More cracks will form as it continues to dry. I prefer the organic look of this mix to ready made crackle paste in certain compositions. And like you said crackle paste gets pricey. I mix what I need and cover what I don't use with plastic wrap.
Just a few questions: do you sell your paintings? Or have you done any exhibitions (not only galleries, but have you displayed them anywhere for a good period of time? Have you ever done murals? Thank you!
My goodness that is awesome! I love mixed media! You know I always like the Raven. That is really a wonderful piece. I do not get to the patron. Is there a direct way to join and cost information? Merry Christmas and happy new year of painting!🤩
Yes... Cardboard is acidic. However the cardboard is sealed. I figure that if cardboard is good enough for artists like Rubens (Miraculous Fishing c1619 oil on cardboard), El Greco (Portrait of a man c1586 oil on cardboard) and Edvard Munch then why not? It's all about using what you have on hand and creating.😊
This work of art has a wonderful rugged beauty. I love the inclusion of a crow who would probably enjoy playing with cardboard and string. Thank you Lydia, you never fail to inspire me.
Thank you so much! ❤
Fabulous piece. Love the textures and colors you used. You did such a great job on the crow!
Wow girl, you are good!!! I am almost always dissatisfied with this type of videos because most people overwork their canvass -in my humble opinion-, but you are a natural, I think. Congratulations!
This piece is really unique. Love how my eye is traveling all over the details. ❤

Wow so beautiful how it all comes together! Very inspiring. We have a lot of ravens where I live. They puff their feathers up this time of year because it's very cold out which makes them adorable
Thank you so much! They are so cute when they fluff up!❤
Simply beautiful ❤
Love, again! I started using textures a few years ago. In still playing with what I like. You help me so much with ideas. Thanks for what you do!

Thank you so much! That means a lot! 😊 I had to train myself to not get too caught up in detail. I still struggle with it sometimes! Thank you again.❤
