  • In this episode I change the front brake rotors and pads on our main vehicle 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan.......a simple job but then I have to go back a day later and correct my mistake....... After using the new rotors the correct way for a couple of weeks now I can say that the brakes are naturally a little noisy on a hard application but I have better stopping for sure. In light applications everything is normal......success.

The drilled and slotted rotors are still noisy at times. It’s like every time I apply the brakes there’s a different level of noise depending on how hard you push. They work really good though. Will have to wait to see how they last though.

Well that's easy to do these days especially with YT.......As a mechanic I always check out the does and don'ts of others but not for brake jobs as I have done them so many times......Thanks for the comment.

Instructions, lol, they are not what they are made out to be. Who would ever want to get things right the first time? I would most likely have done the same thing. Like you say, the only thing that would happen is your brakes wearing out quicker. Nothing to worry about. Live and learn!! Beautiful view out over the water and I bet you would have loved to have FRILL out there. Another fine video my friends. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Play safe.

That's exactly Larry.......no big deal at all........they are still noisey and i am not sure that I would buy again.......we'll see when these are worn out..........may upgrade the van before that happens.......yes seening FRILL there may happen some day................we will see.........thanks for watching and commenting my friend.......you are soon off!

Usually the more expensive ceramic pads are the ones that cause squeaks. The cheaper semi metallic ones are usually better. One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is put hard grease on the brake slider pins. It swells up any rubber it's in contact with. Synthetic brake lube is the gear. And here in newfoundland they should be serviced every 6 months lol, terrible climate we got for vehicles. Great video buddy!

I’ve never installed drilled rotors. It makes sense that they are directional, but I would not have caught the problem. Who reads the instructions anyway. If they wanted you to read the instructions, they should have printed them in a large font. Lol. The first day was beautiful. Wow. Enjoy The Journey - Cheers

I'm not sure if I would buy them again......they are noisey especially on a hard brake on a hot day.......no warping yet........easy braking and they are silent.......the noise makes Holly question if there is something wrong or not.......oh well we will run em til the end now.......the weather was so up and down.......much like here on the boat now as we wait for less than 20 knot winds to leave the dock..........thanks for tuning in Bob and commenting..........we are enjoying the journey...

Never had a set of those types of rotors. No idea if they are any better. The thing I’ve noticed for years is, motor cycles seem to use the a lot. I never had a motor cycle either.
Nice day there. Universal tools. I know people that would have a stroke if they if they did that, with their tools.
Makes no difference to me, I do the same as you. Git it done.
      Have a great day.
Oh ya, Happy Canada Day. 🇨🇦💥💣🪵🪓🔥
