GTA4 was the 3rd Grand Theft Auto I’ve ever played, It holds a deep place in my heart. The story, characters, and game overall are phenomenal. I am currently re playing it now, it’s been probably 4 or 5 years since I’ve played it. It’s now 2023, it takes me back, an overall amazing story, in the franchise.
Why are you being so toxic to deadman walking, he was just making a joke about rdr1 reload and then you goes mad for no reason? But good thing you deleted your comment tho haha.
GTA 4 will forever have a special place in my heart. This is my ALL TIME FAV one, even with BOGT and Lost and Damed. The storyline, characters, the depth of each mission seriously made me fall in love. I even named my cat after Niko and have shed a lot of tears throughout playing ❤ I really wish they’d bring this type of intensity and detail back. I really wasn’t too impressed with 5 like I am with 4.

I remember when this game first came out. It was during my senior year in high school. That summer I got my first job, and bought a PS3 with my first few checks. I was blown away at how good the physics and graphics were. Being able to go into buildings, drive the taxi, and use the cop car to find wanted criminals. Truly ahead of it's time! Great nostalgia!
Because new york in real life which liberty city is based on is as same bad level as this game but gta sa created a perfect gang 90s atmosphere it actually kind of followed the real life events like riots bloods n crips gang wars crash and corrupt cops a lot of these events happened in real life the rest of the game is inspired from hoovers and the atmosphere changes when you go from city to city or city to country or desert or country to desert and in reverse i understand your opinion but i thought of telling you this because almost every gta games have an criminal underworld it's just that it didn't teach the player a lot about it unlike gta 4 please respect my opinion but the thing rockstar can take really big steps in any video game they made since their existence gta sa had like 3 cities a countryside and desert a mix of style we never saw in any gta game not even gta 4 featured this giant open world gotta respect all of these games they do so much hardwork

"When you walk into a village, and see fifty children sitting neatly beside the church wall with their throats cut and their hands chopped off. You realise that the creature that could do this doesn't have a soul" ~ Niko Bellic/2008
This game perfectly sums up the 2000s. Technology was evolving and the economy was doing great (this is before the 2008 crash), the internet and social media was there but it hadn't yet taken over people's lives. It was actually a very nice balance. I also visited New York from the UK a year before this game came out and it perfectly captured the atmosphere from what I experienced. So this game is a perfect reminder of what I really enjoyed in the 2000s. I look at the past decade since, and think sometimes we should have maybe slowed down. Everything with technology accelerated so fast that we allowed it to just take over our lives. People have gotten too materialistic and the internet (especially social media) was allowed too much of a free pass in free access to our private lives. Now we have a situation globally where people across the world now believe that they will only be happy if they live like those shown on Instagram or have the perfect body, or the perfect home. We need to take a step back and slow down and rediscover what truly makes us happy. The 2000s and the 90s were the right balance of mankind evolving technologically and economically, but without being slaves to it. Let's rediscover that balance.
Absolutely spot on brother! Technology can be good but people are becoming slaves to it! Everywhere I go people have their faces glued to the screen with pieces of plastic in their ears. Such a shame people don't want to live in the moment now, they would rather waste their lives staring at screens thinking they are some genius just because they read an article and start "debating everyone that they are so right and other people are wrong" 🙄 You are right, we need the right balance between good 'ol school living and this tech that is evolving way too fast to the point we may not be able to control it in the future. And I'm writing this comment with a 10 year old laptop, why?? It works and still does the job for me, unlike most people I am not concerned about the latest gadgets in fact I could care less because I'm not interested in buying new things just to impress people or be "part of a crowd", nor do I want to throw things away like most people do, since we live in a materialistic "throw away" society. (I also carry a basic feature phone with me when I'm out, yes I do have a smartphone but I leave it at home). Just thought I would give you my 2 cents 🙂
The 2000s was a great era, I wish I could go back to experience it just for a day again. There won’t be a time like that ever again, it was a golden era
This game was ridiculous when it was first released. I remember playing it as the first ever game after I got my ps3. The graphics, the engine physics, the music, story, atmosphere; everything about this game was incredible. I cannot believe how old this game is. To think this was released 14 years ago. Back when I was 10 years old, it seemed like it was just yesterday. Now I'm going on 25, my daughter was born May 22', and this video made me feel like a kid again.
Aye bro hopefully your wife is loyal and caring towards you and isn't some iNdEpEnDeNt, eMpOwErEd feminist clown cause that'll always end in a divorce.
This GTA had the best physics of them all. It might’ve not been the most colorful but it was the one that lived up to the hype the most imo. I want a 4K/60 PS5 version.

@@kruger2511 I guess it "looks" and "feels" better because the game is also less "heavy" on the GPU/CPU than GTA5. I'm a console gamer, so a remaster would be nice. I'm talking about a remaster and not a remake! Which are two completely different things! I think for console, at least to have the compatibility with PS4/PS5 (because the PS3 wasn't compatible) would be nice. I love GTA4! It was my first GTA game that i really got into. So i wouldn't be mad. But i'm happy i own it on PS3 still. And it does look good and (imo) it feels good as well. But like i said, a remaster, even if it is to just be compatible with PS4 and PS5 would be nice!
I nearly cried watching this. I played GTA 4 as a kid and after lots of times just messing around as a child in the game i finally beat it this was back a few years ago tho. I used to play it on my xbox 360 before i got the ring of death then that was the end of my childhood games. I remember waking up on a cold saturday morning and going upstairs to play video games all day. I also remember in the holidays when it was sunny i didn't wanna go outside bc i had made some friends even tho the xbox 360 servers were all old then i remember the day they shut down the servers but I was too young to know what was going on. The nostaliga of this game and the physics brings back so many memories.
I absolutely love the little details in the story. Everything is meticulously crafted and even one person in the comments mentioned that Niko's accent begins to adjust to the area's accent as he settles, And that's brilliant. Not to talk about the thrilling graphics, Physics and overall engine of the whole game being just on point. This game is really great.

From the music to the cutscenes to game play to the story.. this is not "just a video game". I'd say this is the best GTA game right alongside SA, VC and 3. I'm glad that I got to play this when it came out
Grand Theft Auto 4 is still a timeless classic, everything just works for me, the characters, the storylines, the side missions, the gameplay and etc, it’s all just so captivating.
I have officially watched the entire 13 hours 12 mins and 13 seconds of this entire video. It took me about 5 days to watch the whole thing. GTA 4 will always be a great game. To watch and see how niko did everything and tried to please everyone and then screwed over in the end is just how life goes in the real world. 10/10 game and I hope they create something like this in future games.

Man, I always felt so bad for niko. He really portrays the hopelessness we all feel at our low points. He feels like he's done everything he can to do right, yet he still gets wronged in the end.
I just don't understand where the passion went. The level of detail is intense. Really felt like there was still this overwhelming sense of hope. Not knowing where technology was going, you pushed what you had to its limit. Miss the early 2000s to the mid 2010s. Fucking golden.
@granttodd3118 no, Dan houser left the company. That's what happened. Old devs sold out and became sellouts, or life happened... In the end, the irony of it all was capitalism, capitalism itself made the video gaming industry greedy. People nowadays cannot control their greed

@Jokūbas Varanauskas no, GTA SA is generally more fun, the goofy physics are good imo, there's a bunch of weapons and cheat codes for hours of fun. GTA IV isn't bad, but you just shouldn't stereotype me because I prefer SA.
@Jokūbas Varanauskas GTA 4 dosent have nearly as much content as san andreas. the gameplay was seriously downgraded in GTA 4. the map was smaller, no unique weapons, character customization was very limited, very little vehicle variety, no planes, no car customization, almost no variety in the police dispatch, mission design was repetitive, 100% completion had almost no rewards, etc. I am not blinded by nostalgia and I think san andreas is a better game. the only ones blinded by nostalgia are GTA 4 fanboys
Summer 2011 : I was 5 years old. My father had an Xbox 360, filled with racing games and sports games. But among these, there was one Rockstar Games game : GTA IV. I loved playing that game every weekend when I didn't have to go to school. My father would play the missions, and I would just lurk around Liberty City destroying cars, firing rockets, jumping off a cliff, and shooting in the void, casually hitting other NPCs. I still didn't know the true story of this game at the time. When I grew up, I understood what this story really was : Sad, Brutal, Dark, Unhappy, Realistic. It was inspired by reality. GTA IV is the most mature chapter of Rockstar's saga. In my opinion, it is better than GTA 5, though GTA 5 is too a great game. I bought an used Xbox 360 just to replay GTA IV, plus The Lost and Damned & The Ballad of Gay Tony, the expansions of GTA IV that I didn't play when I was younger. They were amazing games too. They added many weapons, many activities, especially TBoGT with the parachute jumps, plus the tanks. But still, my favourite will always be GTA IV. The physics, the story, the character, everything was amazing, maybe even perfect. Rockstar really succeeded in making a masterpiece back in 2008. Now GTA is flying bikes, shark cards, paywalls... Yes I'm listing stuff from GTA Online, because, apparently, nobody still plays offline GTA V, except me. They say rockstar games only thinks about money. Many others say the same about GameFreak. In fact, everybody in 2022 complained about glitches and problems in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Back in 2010, we had Black and White, that were perfect. Same goes with GTA. GTA Online, everybody doesn't care anymore, and most people hates its paywalls. GTA IV, everybody loves it. Including me. The GTA chapter that made my childhood. The GTA chapter that has a special place in my heart. The darkest GTA. The most realistic GTA. Not only the physics, but the story too. Based on real life. Plus, TLaD and TBoGT took a perfect game and turned it into even more perfection. Even the music is perfect. The theme of GTA IV, Soviet Connection (and the Pause Menu Song) is enough to make me cry. I cry for nostalgia. I cry because it's a sad theme that perfectly reflects the game. It sounds dark and depressed. It takes me back to 2011-2013 when I would play this game a lot. But back then, I didn't realize how tragic, sad and dark this game really was. It always has been my favourite GTA game. San Andreas is great too. GTA 5 is great too. Vice City is a masterpiece. But IV is the superior GTA. The superior Videogame. THE videogame... of ALL TIME. And the third best game EVER according to metacritic. But for me, it is the first. I will never sell my Copy of GTA IV. And when I'll be older, I'll tell my children a great story. A story of how and why this game is and will always be my favourite. It was something different. So thank you, Rockstar Games, for making this masterpiece of a game. And thank you, GTA Series Videos, for uploading this video. Love you GTA IV 🇮🇹❤️
The day of release I played this and remember spending atleast an hour inside nikos apartment just admiring the details and how it was the first time in a game you could sit and watch tv and flip through the channels. As a 11 year old, it was perfection

Damn when IV came out, fans were complaining that it was too serious and they want fun GTA game like San Andreas back that's why we had V. And now that we have V, fans are now complaining about it not being dark and serious like IV.
@@chowderchowdown There are many fans, I'm sure there are many who dislike IV as there are many who dislike V. Personally, IV felt like the natural progression for GTA to me.
GTA: V was like Michael Bay movies, action/fast paced, has better graphics, guns, character customization, better vehicles, & bigger map.. but the map felt empty, the story felt rushed, & it got boring... GTA: IV, was more Martin Scorsese, Sopranos, Goodfellas like, had the darkest atmosphere, well-written protagonist, interesting characters, the map was small but felt more lively & it was mature.
Year 2010, I remember playing this game during summer vacation from school and at the same time it’s rainy season... those were the days sigh simpler times
I remember going to a friend's house and watching him play it for the first time on the Xbox 360. I can never forget it. It was so different. Definitely shock value for me at the time. I wanted it so bad. He let me try it out for a bit and man the driving felt so realistic and everything was a big step up from the 3D universe. What a transition Rockstar made at the time. Very innovated and i want to add that the driving still looks more realistic than GTA 5. How did Rockstar take a step back when it came to driving mechanic/physics? Great games tho love them all 🙏
@@fredster594 they’re were not realistic, yes, but it felt realistic due to the fact that you actually feel the weight of the car, and you need to accelerate/brake with caution, where as on GTA 5, there is no such thing as “weight” of the car, so you can just accelerate all the way and turn as hard as you like. It’s hard to explain but I tried my best to explain my point

Yup
Let's rediscover that balance.
although they captured the atmosphere, streets were half empty. GTA IV never felt as live as real New York.
This is one of the best comments that I ever seem, bravo 💗💗💗
Absolutely spot on brother! Technology can be good but people are becoming slaves to it! Everywhere I go people have their faces glued to the screen with pieces of plastic in their ears. Such a shame people don't want to live in the moment now, they would rather waste their lives staring at screens thinking they are some genius just because they read an article and start "debating everyone that they are so right and other people are wrong" 🙄
You are right, we need the right balance between good 'ol school living and this tech that is evolving way too fast to the point we may not be able to control it in the future.

No Rocostars mature with Rdr.
Fun fact: The GTA IV theme song was played before Liverpool FC walked out onto the pitch in Australia, 2013.

Lmao it funny to hear it in the football game.

The beginning was badass
The story the characters all perfect
The ending were sad

Love this game. Has the best sad, dark, disturbing moments, a villain you love to hate, and the funny moments too are some of the best in the series.

GTA IV is criminally under appreciated more than GTA V and San Andreas.
Agree
I think it would be more loved if it had better gameplay
@@cheeselover7368 honestly gta ss felt like there was always something interesting to do. GTA 4 there was plenty to do but not as interesting. And less customization options. No rpg elements either. Love this game and it has the best story in the series but gta SA was a different animal.
@@gh0rochi363 exactly gta 4 def had the best story but was lacking in everything else the missions sucked controls were eh the game didn’t look very good and my least favorite part was how niko would talk about how traumatized he was then you could blow up a street the story did not match the gameplay at all sa was a much better gta game
Yes. Gta 4 is way better than San Andreas. Niko is a better protagonist than CJ.
GTA 4 was one of the brutally underrated GTA game ever
Facts
Man both endings are so depressing. But...i couldnt choose kate. I dont care if people say love is "great". Its not worth losing family. I'd choose roman over kate anyday
same. Roman is just trying to be happy and thats why i love him
this is the one right here man i couldn’t stand to see roman die
@Sazil why
Kate is disgusting. Ending where she dies is happy ending. I wanted her to suffer.
You can’t even date Kate if you choose the Deal ending anyways, plus if I was Niko I wouldn’t work with Dimitri again
That cell phone feature was so revolutionary at the time... This game was amazing when it hit. Games just don't have these kind of vibes anymore.
yes superb
There was just something that made this game feel more like a real living world. I wish GTA V could have recreated that feeling.
This game is a snapshot in time, the better days. Will never be recreated
Gta V is a massive tribute to Hollywood movies etc it really never wanted to go a GTA4 route
I have watched this video countless times and never get tired of it.
Year 2010, I remember playing this game during summer vacation from school and at the same time it’s rainy season... those were the days sigh simpler times
As a ps guy, It hurts when gta 5 went from PS3 to PS5. But gta 4 isn't even available on ps4 Store😭🔥💯.

Great games tho love them all 🙏
gta 4 physics are not reallistic
@@sandeepc323 it is
@@sandeepc323 for the time they were
@@identity_undetermined They weren't back then and they still aren't. However it doesn't mean the physics are bad.
This was a great hit back in 2008, it had the best physics out of all the gta games and it brought us to the HD universe and i love Niko`s voice actor
You mean "Best physics out of any games" back then.
