It's like being mad about not being as good as Messi at soccer but you've never played soccer before. Just kinda stupid lol. Practice practice and you might just be one day

Peter Hook tells a really cool story in an interview with The Guardian (a British newspaper) about being on tour with Moby and him asking Peter and Bernard to play New Dawn Fades with him. They told him they couldn't remember it and Moby got the Red Hot Chili Peppers (presumably Flea and John) to teach Peter and Bernard how to play it again!
It takes a lot to pull off that iconic bass riff with a guitar but this is how you do it ❤ RIP Ian Curtis, thank you for the comfort you’ve brought to those is us suffering even though it’s been decades since you left us ❤
On my birthday. I was not aware of Joy Division till I heard them 6 years later. I do remember the album cover of UNKNOWN PLEASURES being displayed prominently for many years prior to hearing it.
@@virginiaknighten4687 Ian Curtis was the lead singer of the British band Joy Division who sadly took his own life in 1980. This is a cover of their song, depending on where you’re from you may have heard their most popular song - ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ If not, I’d absolutely recommend you look at their 2 albums: ‘Unknown Pleasures’ and ‘Closer’. There’s some absolute gems on both of those records!
@@rucky1419 thank you for your response...I definitely will check them out. I only heard of the RHCP about 2 months ago. And John has really moved me to no end. He learned all sex pistols song on the acoustic when he was young, to show parents that he's passionate about music, and they bought him electric guitar
Caleb Johnston. At sections he is playing both the rhythm and lead parts simultaneously that Bernard Sumner played on two separate tracks on the recording. When JD played the song live, Bernard would play the leads in their specific sections of the song and then switch back to chords/strumming sounds during the singing(he kind of varies between them). You're absolutely correct that the body of the song is quite simple, but to play the two parts as an folk arrangement for one guitarist is a bit trickier overall. John did a good job with the arrangement actually.
Got here because I was listening to the John Frusciante cover songs compilation without the video. By the time it hit the chorus or something, thought it was not one guitar playing right? So I'm here now and confirmed once again why he's my favorite guitar player of all time ❤❤❤
I love how at the end he says "This is a sad song from my new record... It comes out tomorrow, I think", like he doesn't really give a shit about it coming out.
Every time I see this concert I feel like cutting my head off and bury it under the ground. I can't believe it. It's the best show ever. Fuck. I wanna be there. I love you, John.
Yess, ever since i saw him doing this version of joy division in vienna, I wanted to hear it again, and here it is. Great!!! Coool version in Amsterdam.
This means so much to me man, possibly my two greatest musical loves and inspirations coming together here on a song that already holds meaning to me. "A loaded gun won't set you free - So you say"

Beautiful cover of an amazing song! but more importantly... played the guitar solo, bass line AND sang simultaneously!!!! Amazing!

Seems sloppy to most people but when you see what he is trying to do all at once. Wow....
He listned to the song
He understood the lyrics
He somehow could relate to Ian’s pain
That’s what makes this beautiful
Yes you"re spot on - it's like he's inhabiting the song
Taher Boujneh you’re right man. That’s gotta be it. You can tell he put in so much into making this cover as good as he could. Above and beyond.
Word man: I hate when anyone play a Joy Division cover, anyone but him.
I almost heard what you wrote in the rithm of the song
"He heard the song
He got the lyrics
He could relate
To Ian's pain"
Joy Division one of the greatest bands of all time but Johnny's cover is amazing he can capture all the sounds without having a band behind him
And it's on the acoustic guitar! They say it right, it's not the guitar that plays, but the fingers and the mind of the performer.
