It would be great if we could try the feature before we could purchase the upgrade. I can’t even see a sample of an SVG digitized then stitched… this is exciting though as there isn’t a lot of options for Max users. I will definitely watch the progress. Great work!
Thanks for your feedback! You can try SVG imports, although without the "StitchBuddy Creator" purchase only the first path is imported. But be aware that by default only stroked objects are considered, and e.g. Adobe Illustrator is often using a filled object to outline: There is an option in StitchBuddy's "Open Path" dialog to include all objects - then you might need to delete irrelevant paths after the import. - Stay tuned as this feature will be enhanced, although I wouldn't expect StitchBuddy to compete with $$$ embroidery suites. Merry Xmas!
Your problem might be related to different ways graphic programs are handling objects which are either stroked and filled in their SVG exports. Here is an FAQ article with details and how to handle the different scenarios: www.stitchbuddy.de/mac/support/faq/faq31.html
Hi Marthis how to use stitch buddy to create text and aligned underneath each word to make it centered, also have a lot of jump sttiches, the sentence i want to do "With God All Things Are Possible" thanks
Text alignments need to be done manually, there is no tool to align an object relative to another. Depending on the stitch direction and shape complexity various jump stitches are required (there is no „smart traveling“ hidden behind stitches). These jumps can be massively reduced by adding single words or even letters one at a time.
LG Sven
Hi, I just paid the $90 for both parts of this program and it still won't open my svg files on mac. not sure what i'm doing wrong. i'm a graphic designer so I know what i'm doing with files, etc.
Did you watch this video tutorial about SVG imports? If not I highly recommend to do that: SVGs are not opened from the "Files" menu, but using the toolbar item when adding shapes - as only their paths are imported as shapes to be contoured with running / zigzag stitches or filled with Tatami patterns. Please also consult the app's help and FAQs on its support website - and maybe join StitchBuddy's user community (although it has just started and will evolve) 😊
There are a couple of video tutorials addressing different aspects of StitchBuddy and a lot of FAQs on its web site - and I'm happy to respond to genuine support needs by mail.
Unfortunately StitchBuddy can save Brother PES files only with a max. size of 130 x 180 mm (5" x 7"). You can select all stitches and then resize +/- 15% (without stitch reduction the design would become too dense). A better solution is a different file format without size limitation: Many Brother machines accept e.g. PEC or DST files. Please refer to this FAQ for details: www.stitchbuddy.de/mac/support/faq/faq26.html
You can always request a refund at Apple - but maybe it's worthwhile to look into the FAQ regarding SVG imports at StitchBuddy's website: Depending on the program exporting the SVG you might need to adjust import options. Or contact me by mail with the SVG in question...
Sooo. I downloaded the app and was messing around with it. I had a simple 6 letter logo I was messing with and tried to save it. 6 letters... and it said I was over the stitch limit!!! So I thought I would see hoe much to get the paid version. 50 bucks. Okay not bad...but that's to just upgrade to unlimited stitch. If I want more than two fonts another 35 bucks?? Come on!! I'm going to give 80 bucks to not even know how well it will work?? Help me understand the low stitch count. Maybe to trial stitch two letters??
I can understand that you'd like to test larger designs with the free version. But even w/o purchasing StitchBuddy Pro all "internal" handling of letters - creation, fill & stroke types, path manipulation, alignment etc. - can be evaluated with the two test fonts. You can check the result to some extend by closely investigating the structure view and using the stitch simulator. Not as thorough as a stitch out, but with the 1,000 limit when saving, small designs can be transferred to your machine to ensure the stitch files are working. Yes, these are limitations, but offering features for free is a tricky balance...
@@EmbroideryOnMacs thank you for the timely response. What you have to understand is there is a bunch of us out there like me, that borrowed a machine to dabble a bit, maybe put a wording or two above a shirt pocket, or put a name on a towel for a loved one. Not to make a living off of it. I think the reason companies like Wilcox can get away with a several hundred dollar software product is they are selling it to someone that is production stitching. Hats, shirts, and ext. Not a weekend warrior like me. You could have it set up to where its unlimited stitch, select five fonts all for twenty bucks. Maybe better to get $20 from us part time sewers on your hard work, that no $..
@@StevesBeyondRepair I got your point ... But we are not talking several hundreds of dollars, but 50$ - if you're fine with using Times New Roman / Helvetica or 80$ if not ... Quite a bargain for embroidery software and not even close to reflecting my development efforts. You might want to look into open source tools like InkStitch to spend even less - but potentially invest more time and it's less macOS-ish ... Everybody has to decide about personal preferences.
I prefer "Graphic for Mac" (www.graphic.com) which offers for me the right balance of features and affordability, but you can use every graphic program exporting SVG 1.0 or 1.1.

Is there a way to curve text, I want to embroider on the. back of the hat.
Unfortunately the only way to curve text is a manual alignment of each letter ... StitchBuddy cannot align text by curves / paths. Sorry!
