Hi. Thank you for doing this. I am very new to embroidery. I have a macbook and a Brother SE-400. I need many tutorials. So I would love if you would do more of these. Are the older tutorials on stitchbuddy still valid to learn about this from the beginning? I don't know what anything means or what things are for or why I need them. I am very grateful for all of this because there is nothing out there for mac users and newbie tech-challenged sewers. 😂
Hi! Thanks for the useful embroidery app for Mac users. I have watched all the videos of StitchBuddy app tutorials, but still have a question. Is there any other tutorial for creating texts with rotating filled stitches? (not the tatami style) Since the options of fill type only include tatami style, the fill stitches will not rotate as the curve like letter "C". However, the zigzag stitch is only available for outline stitch. I cannot try out a solution to create a text and fill along with the dynamic rotating as the stroke. Or, is there any tutorial for creating the welcome file ("welcome to StitchBuddy" page)?
Currently StitchBuddy is only supporting Tatami fills, not e.g. the Satin fill you've mentioned (curving the filling stitches with the text). Satin fills are on my todo list, but requiring some major implementation efforts as the user Interface must be enhanced to include additional control points. The "Welcome to StitchBuddy" text is based on predigitized letters, actually pulled from my wife's embroidery machine years back.
Appreciate for the reply! Still I love this app because the interface is naturally designed for mac uses. Look forward to discovering all the features in this app.
Bernettes are typicially accepting proprietary ART and standard EXP files, the latter supported by StitchBuddy. But you should consult the machine's owner manual or your dealer for a confirmation.
Only a few supported file formats are really requiring a hoop size (and are saving it): JEF and PCS. For PES hoops are assigned based on the design size for an easier alignment, but not saved (as PES v1.0 doesn't support different hoops). For all other file types the menu item is inactive ... especially if - like in the video - the target file format is still unknown (the new file wasn't saved, yet).
I'm grouping 6 letters together into a word. Even if they are same color, the machine stops and asks for a thread change. The bottom says "Colors: 6, Different Colors 1." Is there a way to group those into "Colors: 1"?
robinepj22 Yes, you can remove the unneeded color changes by right-clicking the threads ... There is a RUclips video „Working with threads“ covering this topic.
I have a Babylock Accord Embroidery Machine, I was wondering if StitchBuddy would work with it? Or could i use One of the Machine types(example Brother) and put it on my machine to Embroidery what i need, or can that Hurt my machine?
I don't know your embroidery machine first-hand, but according to its owner manual it works with PES and DST files, so you should be fine. Be ware of StitchBuddy's size limitation when saving PES v1.0 files, a bypass is covered in an FAQ article on its website. Embroidery machines will usually just ignore file formats they cannot process, but you should ensure the appropriate hooping. Just download StitchBuddy's free trial to test if it fulfills your needs...
To some extend you can: StitchBuddy v3.0 has introduced an option to add simple shapes, to be outlined and/or filled. So you can create new elements in existing or new designs. Please watch the most recent videos from this channel, where I show how to define and embroider these shapes.
Thank you so much for this video. It was very helpful. I was able to put my two letters in and change the color, but I can't export it. It says StitchBuddy error 205. How can I save my letters?
Error 205 refers to a limitation of StitchBuddy's trial version: You're trying to save a design with more than 1,000 stitches, which requires the In-App purchase of StitchBuddy Pro. I'd suggest to thoroughly test if StitchBuddy fulfills your needs with small samples, and consider the IAP if it does. The corresponding option can be found in the app's preferences.
Hi, thanks for prompt response. Im looking to use an image , in hopes of embroidering . However when I drop the item from finder, to stitch buddy , it gives me an error message. Please help. Thank you @@EmbroideryOnMacs
Natively in macOS? No, sorry, I don't. A lot of people are running Windows either in Bootcamp or a virtualized environment like Parallels or VMware ... and using Windows apps like Embird to digitize graphics into embroidery designs. But I have no first-hand experience with Windows embroidery software.
needed this thanks
Thank you so much for the video! I updated my software and wasn’t sure how to move letters-shift! Of course! Thank you!

how can we change the hoop size? Even on your tutorial it is greyed out.

I'm sorry, but you cannot digitize with StitchBuddy, but organize / edit / merge existing embroidery designs.

@@EmbroideryOnMacs Thank you! I am strongly considering it!!! Love this program!
so how do I put my own design onto stitchbuddy, do I convert it to jef? how is that done
StitchBuddy works only with embroidery designs: You can convert from other file formats into JEF, but graphics cannot be digitized into embroideries.
my pictures aren’t importing to the stitch app when i drag. what do i do?
Karen Ramirez StitchBuddy does not import pictures like JPEGs, but you can only merge embroidery designs.

Are you referring to a specific topic? Which problem are you facing in StitchBuddy where a video tutorial would be helpful? I’m open to suggestions...
