  • They may not officially be called loadouts but this is likely what we're gonna get. They're not terrible but they do lack some serious features.

    My workaround for no true loadouts is just to have unused characters "hold" specific sets. My Kaeya is holding my best physical build, so if I ever want to play a physical set, I just swap everything with Kaeya. Cumbersome? Yes. Better than nothing? Also yes

      this is a good solution but as someone who is slowly but surely building every character they have, i am running out of placeholder units... 💀

      Agreed. Even the people who know dick about the finer parts of Genshin's combat (which is its own discussion) could benefit from a proper load out system.
      You'd think "I want to save this configuration and move it to other characters" would be simple to understand and have universal support but the other comments under this video are proving me quite wrong.

      Is mostly for new players or others whose doesn't understand which are the best artefacts for X character
      You could say they could been watching guides but what if don't understand English and there's any guide on their native language 🤷🤷

    There is another problem with the system. It will forcibly unequip all the artifacts that your character uses instead of swapping their artifacts. So that character will not have any artifact equipped by the end of the process.
    Example:
    You want to give Kuki's artifact to Raiden, so the game will unequip Kuki's Artifact & give them to Raiden. But later if you want to swap them back, you'll have no idea which artifact your Raiden previously equipped because Kuki has no artifacts on her. So you have to go through all of your Emblem pieces again & find the right one.
    If you instead manually change the artifacts, Kuki will keep all of Raiden's Artifact, making it much easier to find Raiden's previous build. Also I'm pretty sure this is still faster than the "Loadout" System.

      This is something I noticed too! It's also very possible to forget you yoinked an artifact from another character and only realize when you're already in combat. At least if the artifacts were swapped that character would have something on even if it's not perfect. It's really strange that they did this considering the manual way lets you swap artifacts.

      But if we can save our builds as DPS Raiden & EM Raiden. Even if you select the EM Raiden build and it so happened to be on Kuki. Once you select your DPS Raiden build it would assemble those pieces back to your Raiden. And the EM artifacts I guess would just be unequipped by anyone. Or they could add some sort of pop up message like are you sure you want to swap or something like that. I think all we have to do is save our builds for each & every character before we get to snatching sets from other characters lol so we don’t forget who had what. That would be the most important step. Saving and naming your builds for every character you have. Then go have fun

    once again i will yell about how HI3rd LITERALLY has the exact system genshin players want despite the fact that most characters in HI3rd don’t even need to swap builds around bc they prefer their signature gear 😭😭😭 like does hoyo not allow the different dev teams to talk to each other bc i can’t think of any other reason why they wouldn’t know the perfect solution to this issue the community keeps begging for is literally in their other game

      This is what I wanted to say, having a loadout system in Hi3 where most characters have a set in stone set they must use but not in Genshin where builds can be so much more creative is honestly baffling especially because both games come from the same company. I know there are different dev teams but still.

    An ingame optimizer is nice but... we didn't need more optimizing.
    Yes, the game may put my Xingqiu with a great Emblem piece with crit and 18% ER. But I might prefer to put him on less ER, so I can use that piece on Xiangling instead. It's all about being able to equip different builds on each character with as little clicks and swapping around as possible.
    The tool itself is cool, but it's sad because this probably means we won't get the customizable loadout we've been asking forever.

    i just want to select a group of artifacts and give it a name, thats it. a little drop down menu with a list of my sets and and a button to equip.

    I feel like its a good system that could really help lower AR players but isnt really a useful tool for the more endgame side of the community.

      This is kind of the overall issue with a lot of the quality of life features that are added to Genshin. They help the new players but usually at the cost of existing players. New players don't stay new players forever. So getting some things that are universally useful for everyone would be a big help.

      The funny thing is, this system kinda fails to help new players. For example, Thoma's recommended artifact set is 2P emblem+2P Tenacity set. Imagine a new player farming these 2 artifact sets for their Thoma without even knowing how his kit works. These kinds of information can completely misguide new players imo. I would much rather new players to actually lookup how their character's kit works and farm artifacts accordingly.

    I won't lie... the interface is becoming more and more crowded... They added so many clicks and menus that I'm just getting lost.

    Hoyo probably doesn't really want to implement such system because it would really decrease the time you have to spend in the game. Emblem set is, at least, usable on most dps chars and being able to switch that around easily means that you dont have farm for the most of chars ever again. Same with gilded dreams or French set. So basically Hoyo wants to keep us in artifact hell forever so that we would always have something to do and spend resin for.

    In the last video I said I was going to hold off my overall thoughts until it gets added into the game.
    So now here's my entire opinion after tinkering with it.
    The bad: We can't specifically "save" a build for a character after making a build, let alone 3-4. The system somewhat tries to be like "Genshin Optimizer" but it still needs optimizations to reach that level.
    The good: Unlike other people who just wanted to just create loadouts first then give them to the character they want according to their needs.... I somewhat wanted a sophisticated system where I could go to each character and according to the character's needs I wanted to build them 3-5 loadouts specific to them.
    Yes, I know this is much more work than building a loadout first then swapping that specific loadout around characters.
    However, if we took the time to build loadouts for each character the first time. later down the line, unless you want to upgrade the piece you won't ever have to change that loadout.
    While on the other case if your pyro dps values HP over Attk in substats, you might need to change the loadout artifacts a bit.
    How to fix the current system: The base system for making unique loadouts for each character already exists. They just have to let us save 3-5 for each character, optimize the algorithm for finding the best artifacts and as a added benefit let us add weapons for that specific loadout too.
    Overall, we just need to keep providing feedback about the loadout. If we stop now they'll think it a job well done and they need nothing else to improve it.
    And no constantly spamming "genshin could never", "after three years" etc won't do nothing. You're just diluting the pool with useless information while valuable feedback gets blocked out.

    I do think the fast equip system is a great addition for newer players and just players who don't really know what to put on their characters or want to sort through it all. *if* and only if we *also* get an actual loadout system where we can save a collection of artifacts that we like to switch between characters on a dime. The fast equip system for me is more to just give characters artifacts that you don't actively use and thats only half the problem. If we were to also get actual loadouts I think people will respect and like the fast equip system a lot more

    Unfortunately this system have even more flaws than the video points out.
    - It does save the settings you input, but only the first screen. If you swapped some artifacts from the config you have to do it again every time you use it.
    - Then there's this silly little thing: they added a 3 second cooldown to switching artifacts in the custom loadouts. I really wonder what that's about because that sure is a weird way of punishing missclicks.
    - I'm also pretty sad that using already equipped artifacts removes them from the original character, instead of swapping like it would if you did it manually. Would be nice to ensure the original character has at least something equipped, and make switching character like Raiden from EM to DPS a lot smoother since Shinobu could hold her other artifacts. I guess we can't have nice things :(
    I have other grievances with it like the sheer amount of times you have to hit "confirm" to get anything done, but that could just be me. Still, none of these are major flaws unlike forgetting to include what artifact loadouts are supposed to do. They're just little quirks that make me wonder how much thought they really put into this.
    We were so close to getting a good system, I *really* hope they expand on this because currently it's disappointing. If we can have 15 party composition slots, why can't we save our character builds? And like you said, along with letting us save our builds it would be awesome if they added weapons into this.
    Anyway as it is right now I just don't see a point to using this system as a veteran player. It's decent for more casual players but even then, I think it needed some more time in the oven. Fingers crossed it gets expanded upon!

    As a relatively new player, that has been my opinion since I originally saw it, it's not a bad system, it's honestly pretty useful, especially as a new player still going through all the hassle of farming and setting up artifacts. But at the same time it's not what people requested. This system by itself is a good addtion to the game, but being able to actually save loadouts should also be included to make it a complete system.

    I am proposing a loadout system: when you save team, you save artifact and weapon to that team, and you can choose teams directly in the abyss.

    What I really want, is a system that lets you switch a characters gear while setting up teams for the abyss. Then once you are done with the abyss, it resets everything.
    My Tartaglia is tired of ending up with Stringless whenever Fischl borrows his Polar star.

    Feel at this point, If they added a function in artifact loadout allow you to swap 2 character with just few clicks. I would consider a win. I have been use non-leveled character to build and hold artifact anyway.

    Obviously this system is going to be terrible for accomplishing something it was not designed to do. XD It's good at what it does, but it's not what people wanted. It's for newer players and players who are less interested in learning too much about the game's mechanics. Criticizing it for not being what it was never meant to be makes no sense...just keep asking for the saved loadouts. It's really that simple.

      @@fanafelgminecraft5789 ...when did they act like this? I never saw them act like this was the fulfillment of any specific ask. They delivered a feature and said, "we're always taking in and listening to feedback."
      What's interesting is how a bunch of players seem to think that the game devs are SO BAD at their job that they can't comprehend what players are saying. If y'all think you know how to do their job better than them, I promise you that's highly unlikely. lol
      These optimizations are not for hardcore; no one said that they were. They also changed in the in-game language from Loadout because they realized that it was not the right word choice for the feature they were delivering. They know the difference.

    I think the reason they didnt really want to add "Preset Loadout" in Genshin (Even in the HSR too, at least so far that I know) is because they really dont want the General Players to stop Farming the Artifact...
    Adding those QoL means less people will Farm the Artefact for each Character, less people Farm the Artefact, means less Reason to play the Game...
    They prefer YOU to Farm 1-Set Artefact for 1 Character, rather than 1-Set Artefact for 2 or maybe 6 Different Character... (Ekhem... for example : Noblesse/VV/Emblem/Shimenawa/Gilded/Deepwood/Golden/Marechaussee)
    This is kinda Scummy and doesn't makes sense I know, but I dont know what the real Reason they didnt adding it even after 3 Years...

      As a casual, i dont mind farming. It's just that the RNG sucks so bad that i can never get a set with good stats, let alone a complete set. Ive been stuck usjng the same team for the last two years because i cant get a good set for any of my characters. What we need is a way to choose the set and pieces that we want instead of relying on pure chance.

    The Artifact "Loadout" system is probably the most disappointing thing this patch.
    Not only they actually put resources to this, It's not what most players ask for.
    This isn't the same as Encounter Points where it's just alternative to what's already there. I was just okay with that.
    This? Did not even get the assignment.
    To be fair, Quick Loadout is nice feature especially for new players.

    It's very useful for those who don't want to look for guides and just want a quick and simple way to equip characters they're not familiar with.
    I started farming for my Tighnari but I didn't feel like going through my hundreds of artifact pieces, so I just used Automatic Loadout and it pulled out my best options that I didn't even know I had.

    Am I the only person who gives two different Characters the same artifact set?
    Example: My Tighnari and Baizhu both use Deepwood Memories
    Is this a bad idea?

      It depends,if you play them on different teams then you have 2 characters to use the 4piece effect,that is useful,however if you swap the set from one to the other,then i understand,i do that,i level up too many characters and i dont farm sets enough

      Using 2 characters with the same 4 pc set, when that set doesn't stack, on the same team is a waste yes. Deepwood should always be used on the support, unless they are locked to other sets. Tighnari is better off with 4 pc Wanderer's Troupe or Gilded Dreams (Marechaussee if played with Furina). Baizhu doesn't provide much damage so leaving him on deepwood is a good idea. That said if you don't have a good WT or GD set for Tighnari you can leave it for now. Main stats > sub stats > set bonus.

    The only big thing it lacks is just to save several number of different loadout for each character. Heck even 2 is already pretty good

    I will say that this system was what I had wanted HSR's fast equip to be like, and I kinda want them to implement this over in HSR which maybe some smoother UI with specifics I can't think of.
    Here's to them allowing for saving multiple settings for each character!

      i never use the recommended relics option because there's no way of configuring it to take pieces from the others so i dont really see a point to it

    Tbh. I don't see this as an issue, since it like an Ultra Niche thing to complain about.
    I don't use social media so i might not know how big this even is, but i never had an issue of just picking an artifact and just equip them, like there are multiple game i play with this system and i still barely use them because i see more tedious issues of actually using them more then just pick and equip them on the spot.

    I think the devs rightfully don’t see a reason to care about the ‘loadout’ in the way a tiny, vocal, enfranchised minority want. Making something that helps maybe 3% or something that might help 20% or 40% of the player base; which would you consider a better usage of dev resources? The answer is obvious.

    It's completly useless. It does something you were already doing but with less control.
    I guess at least the automatic one is good for new players but the costum one is completly worthless.

      Agreed. Players experienced enough to generate custom sets already know which pieces they want, so trying to force the custom picker to grab the exact ones you want is worse than doing it manually.

    Even for swapping between two characters, the new system is pretty pointless when you're talking 4 piece artifact sets. You just filter for that set, and pillage the pieces the other character is wearing. 4/5ths of the way there, easy enough. And since we can flag multiple sets, double 2 piece? Also easy.

    the system we need is the pity system for the artifact specailly crimson witch

      Or just a flat out crafting system.
      Get blueprints from domains, then use various overworld mats - _or_ rework artifact domains to also drop the mats needed to upgrade them - to place and upgrade the stats you want. Hoyo gets their retention, and players get both a resource sink _and_ a solid upgrade path. And whoever doesn't care won't have to engage.
      Everyone wins.

    you craft your set, you press on a save set button, a menu similar to when u save savefiles in a game pops up and u select a slot on which to save your set on, you craft an em set and save it in the second slot, same thing for the third slot and set, would it really have been that hard to do this
    it looks simpler to develop and more efficient than the poor excuse of a system they gave us now, i dont know why they did that. the only draw back with this is that you need to craft the sets yourself for the first time as opposed to straight up equiping another characters set, but once you build your sets youre basically done. I personally dont switch artifacts around much (maybe because its so cumbersome to do so in the first place) so im not dying from lack of proper loadout system but looking at this i just cant help but feel like theyre making some things in the game frustrating on purpose. Like what's the point in the 5 minute respawn time for world bosses

    seriously, the loadout system is a very simple one,
    they just made it 10X more complicated for no reason, as if they are just saying " hey look we wrote hundreds of lines of code for no reason at all "
    it's so stupid simple even a first year CS student could do it.

    I used it to equip gaming and for equipping a character for the 1st time is quite nice with this system. I did have to tweak a bit after as I tested more but that's me trying to minmax.

    As a late game player, this seems unnecessarily complicated. I just want a loadout to swap between characters and an alphabetical filter.

    Its a glorified filtration filtration system. Nobody wanted or asked for this shit. But as per usual, Genshin devs doesnt listen to a damn thing its players say. Part of the reason why I uninstalled.

    Quick configuration keeps telling me to put unleveled 5 star pieces on characters even if I have maxed 4 star pieces that work great for the characters. Feels like a weird priority to me, since I'd rather have a +16 4 star artifact on my characters then +4 5 star artfacts that I can't level due to lack of fodder

    As a non tryhard player, I actually liked what we got.
    It could have better options and more presets for sure, but tinkering with the custom configurations is not as cumbersome as the video implies.
    I'm still farming for my second team, so I don't have a lot of choices on artifacts. Having a basic understanding on builds makes the custom config a pretty quick way to build characters from zero using whatever you have at hand, and without having to spend a whole lot of time on optimizer instead of playing the frigging game.

    As a casual, this isn’t the worst system ever? It’s like the dailies thing done worse. Like yeah it’s nice to let things autoselect artifacts for floors 9-10, but I still have to do it myself eventually. Idk def not what I was expecting out of a load out system and hoping for an expansion to save our damn artifacfs

    I have friends who have been playing for years but don't know/care to do proper artifact builds for their characters. This system is good for them. I suspect that this is an issue for many players, given knowing what to equip can be daunting and we all know what artifact farming is like...

    This is just an Artifact Optimiser system built inside of the game.
    It is nice to have, and hella convenient for non PC players, but in the end this is not a loadout system at all. I do understand why people are trying to use it like a loadout system. People want more, instead of an optimiser that like 5% of the community will care about

    Solution to "Raiden problem" is Staff of Scarlet Sands. Not the optimal for either of two roles, but it's enough. Until we get the actual loadouts.
    I hope MiHoYo sees this and other videos on this topic.

    show them the pgr artifact loadouts you just go to the artifact/memory equipping menu you find two buttons load and save when you click save a menu appears with saved artifacts where you can name it and save it, it's so simple and they still managed to mess it up

    Why didn't they just add main stat criteria to the regular artifact sorting system we already had instead of making an additional sorting system...
    Oh well at least we can use this abomination as a calculator to "quickly gauge how high of a crit rate we can get with a certain set without having to actually equip it and then equip back to what we were using

    Tbh when it was first implemented, I was like "straight up trash, not at all what I asked for. wasted of development time." I still generally feel that way, but it was a nice SLIIIIGHT convenience when I wanted to just quickly put a bunch of whatever trash I had on characters I don't usually use when I wanted to play around with some Chevreuse teams in the overworld.....so if that's something you care about, then you won, I guess?

    The artifact lock system is also pretty meh... It's a huge help but takes a century to set up properly and you can only have 2 plans, ideally you want 4
    1 for the usual/ideal set for that set
    2 for Attack off pieces
    3 for HP off pieces
    4 for Def off pieces
    But instead you gotta bunch the last three together and select the 4 substat requirement to hugely reduce the chances of it locking less ideal substats... They need an option to get more plans and an ALL artifact setting changer so you don't need to setup those off pieces for each one (takes ages), technically we have that already but it doesn't take the substats into consideration at all so it will lock less ideal things like a Atk% sands with hp and Def substats

    It's useful for switching around artifacts for Abyss, but the lack of loadouts means I mess up the builds for my mains, which annoys the shit out of me because I have to hope to god the custom loadouts get the same artifacts, and then I have to make sure no one else can steal them. The fact that you can't change weapons on the screen is also baffling to me.

    I have been very much on record as sick of hearing everyone else complaining about artifact loadouts. I refuse to switch, have gear for each character, and hate micromanaging gear every time I want to switch team. That said, I'm sorry to the people who really do want a genuine loadout system because even though this does kinda sorta serve *some* of that purpose, it also looks like its more cumbersome than just going in and switching the gear yourself.

    i try to build every character with an at least usable set, and my favorites with the best of those usable sets, so i haven't run into issues with loadouts yet. that said i would love to be able to put a note on an artifact saying i use this on this character most of the time if i'm using some chaotic builds

      I think they are making a mistake by not really doing anything for this specific minority of players, but let's not twist it like all players ask for loadout/endgame.

    The feature they gave is not for sweaty mid-maxers. Many players who don’t want to spend time creating builds need this feature and Genshin wants them to stay. It’s simply not created for you. Feels bad but it is what it is.

    now can say something about reducing artifact RNG? the thing that actually matters instead of this useless QoL that doesn't help the older players at all
    the loadout system right now benefits casuals and the improvement you want will only benefit the spenders

      ??????? in what way does loadouts only help spenders as you said yourself and this current "loadouts" helps no1 its simply slower and just like the talent upgrade prioity its just wrong by doing it the fast way it gives worthless artifacts to a char that doesnt want them and the custom way is like 5 years of pain to get it working

      cuz he wants to save builds and weapon then equip them with one click
      now tell me as a F2P did you get both cyno and keqing just so swap builds between them? did you get raiden to swap between her hyper build and EM build? do you have both noelle and itto?

      @@MojtaAS i have a raiden em build and a raiden hypercarry build and i use keqing to hold my yae miko hyperbloom set i use qiqi to hold my freeze ganyu set im fully f2p its not hard to have mulitible builds

    That says alot about how good the system is when no1 uses it, what baffles me is MHY can get the feedback, they can make it reality and that feedback IS the best solution for the problem but specifically to NOT do what the players want they come up with a worse "solution" for that problem even tho the players' proposed one was infinitely better 😂😂😂
