  • Genshin Impact added an artifact fast equip feature in version 4.4, so I tried it out with a series of tests for both quick configuration and custom configuration. Can this new artifact feature be useful for new players, casual players, or veteran players? Find out in this video. #genshinimpact #hoyocreators #genshin

    I think the lesson to take from this, is that using the system is better than not knowing what you’re doing and equipping whatever, but it’s worse than knowing what you’re doing. And to be honest, that’s exactly what it should be, I think expecting it to be as good as having actual gamer knowledge is unrealistic.

      Already existing websites are able to generate the best builds using one's account's artifacts, given a certain set of conditions (team-wise, etc.). If they wanted to do something perfect they would have to do something like that, but what too complicated for casual players.
      They should have just implemented artifacts loadouts smh…

      No one was expecting it to generate perfect builds. We were expecting it to let us save builds and then fast equip them later.
      The reason no one likes this system the way it is not is because hoyo's gonna say "well we already have something similar to artifact loadouts, why bother making *another* system for that" and they'll use this current shitty system as an excuse to never give us what the players actually want

      @ruy7164 Месяц назад +6

      The problem is that this isn't what we wanted. Literally no one asked for this.

      @@ruy7164 saying that no one asked for this is just not true. The casual players that make up like 80% of the player base absolutely needed something like this. They don’t watch videos like we do, they don’t optimize builds like we do, they don’t even feel the need to switch around artifacts.
      Hoyo will always cater to the lowest common denominator, which is the casuals.

    My experience with the function is surprisingly good. Most of the time what it recommends is not as good as what I have on the character (or at least I don't like it as much) but there are cases when it points out improvements I can make that are more complex than just switching an artifact for a better one. And I'm talking about the automatic function, I didn't even try to play with the custom one.
    In my experience, what pays off is to have a stash of decent unused +20 artifacts so it has something to choose from.

    "Has our thirst been knowledge been quenched?" Sort of! I had been avoiding the Custom Config because it seems like a lot of steps to get a slightly off-target idea of what my characters need. We're also DESPERATELY in need of a 'save build' function, and I don't want to lose track of what I had on who. It seems from all the demo here that I can at least use Custom to get an idea of what the 'pure stats' best for my account is, and then I can target getting close to that with the relevant set bonuses.

  • @fernandoflores8449
    @fernandoflores8449 Месяц назад +7

    tl dr: It's (Hopefully) the first iteration of this feature and they are (probably) going to improve it over time, but you do need some artifact knowledge to use it correctly, best way to use it is to do quick configuration, select the recommended stats or (the ones you know you need the most) if the build lacks something, or goes beyond adjust accordingly. and lastly check for alternatives to refine those details.
    As a developer i can kinda see what they are doing here. First they filter the pieces to match the set, then they filter again to match the "recommended" substat and last they try to find the piece that matches the most substats. Probably after that they see which one is the worst piece and search again but without the set filter. And like we saw with your yoimiya if it doesn't find the full set it just goes rainbow (they should try to do the 2nd recommend instead, but oh well).
    Going of on this, the main issue i find, like you said, is the fact that it want to force a set over good pieces, and if you don't have good pieces it's obviously going to give you trash.
    Second personally i can't for the live of me get cr on my pieces so i almost always use cr circlet, but since this only takes the most used by other people sometimes it tries to give me a cd circlet and my cr goes down the drain.
    Continuing the point above those builds that need er sands if not enough er substats or need em or atk/hp depending of substats/weapon the game doesnt care about that, it just takes the most common, that's probably why yelan doesn't have er sands recommended, cause prolly most ppl use fav on her.
    Also (and this wasn't on your test) the algorithm doesn't consider set bonuses, cause i tried on my Neuvillete and it gave me 75+% cr so yeah i would be over capping by more than 10%, prolly the same would happen on a blizzard strayer set.
    Lastly, when you searched for alternatives it gave you all the pieces cause you had not selected a set, if you choose a set it will only give you those set pieces (which is also not great if you want to off piece that one instead). And ofc it also just give you the main substat you chose.
    nit picking here but at 26:03 and again at the last seconds, you said the AI, but this is just an algorithm not an AI.
    I put it on the top but gonna expand it here. The best way to use this would be to use the quick configuration, and either match the recommended set or try the 2pc 2pc you want. Then match the main stats for the recommend or for your specific case (like you have and er weapon and em/atk is better for you, or you know you don't have high cr pieces so you go cr circlet). Once you done that you can see the stats it give you and chance preferences accordingly. If that is not changing enough, you can go to check alternatives and polish it yourself.

      Yeah, that's kind of the big question mark here. Who is this actually collecting data from? If it's just everyone in general, including the people who use the tool itself, it's just going to end up in a feedback loop where most people use what the tool recommends so the tool just recommends what it's already recommended. That could be good but, as this video proves, it's just very general purpose and doesn't take into account stat balance or team balance (or maybe more importantly weapon and stat bonus results).

    I hadn’t even looked into this feature myself til this video & now having played around with it for a bit, I heavily agree with your thoughts. They need to fine tune the Custom Configuration a lot more. It’s annoying that we’re required to select a main affix for sands, goblet, and circlet but it only lets us select ONE. So many characters can use at least 2-3 types of sands and circlets. And same with artifact sets! It only lets us select 2 but some characters can be run on 5+ set combos considering so many sets give 2pc Atk%. But then just not selecting a set leads to that free for all chaos of unoptimized crap. The weighting of substat affixes also needs a lot of work. Would be nice if we could optionally type in a range of ideal values we’d want on each stat.
    Quick Configuration in its current state is pretty much unusable, even when giving it the benefit of the doubt that it’s only picking from pieces that aren’t already equipped. Tested it on both my accounts on Chongyun, and YIKES. Bad enough that it’s going for a freeze build of all things in this day and age (melt, burst spam, & full Noblesse support not even in the building), but on my main it selected an unleveled Atk% goblet & 82/129 crit ratio ON 4PC BLIZZARD. On my sub it’s trying for 2pc Blizzard 2pc SOJOURNER and another unleveled Atk% goblet but oh it’s a 3* piece 🤦🏼‍♀️

    My exp. with this feature so far lead me to these results (I havent watched the video yet will do after I finish this comment).
    If you as a player are just starting out on AR 40-45 journey when you get the 4-5* pieces of the artifacts by chance if you're not busy lvling talents and char. Lvl, weapon and let's say you have basic knowledge on artifacts, stats, can read properly ect. You have your fav characters in a world team and you want them to work, you open RUclips, Google, anything about character builds you get the info from them that you need (made up stats for a example) 160% ER to be comfy with Burst spam, 80-100EM, CR around 50-60% and 110-120%CD to call you character some what invested in this made-up scenario. You can use this feature pretty reliably.
    It will put the set you learned that this character of yours need, the stats are more than less comparable to the stats you got from YT/GOOGLE/APP.
    You would be happy that your character is now invested you see the results of your dmg being better, game feels much smoother now, you have more fun. Yippe! Useful feature for newbie builders that dont want to put that much effort to building characters or are still learning the game or just want to enjoy the game and not compete with 36* Abyss solo C0 R1 Aloy 5 bilion CV 2 milion dmg per auto stuff.
    Now. The other side. You're AR 55-60. You have mostly mid/high investment characters for 2-4 partys cause of abyss. Your artifacts should be relatively pretty good. You all you can do is fix some minor details on your character like rolling more max rolls on CR/CD EM ER ATK/% DEF/% HP/% you know all that.
    At this point I would take some screenshots of them, see all of them on my screen think about them blah blah blah take 1-3 that are the best and test them out with other pieces. Too little ER? Maybe I can use that one piece that has 10% more ER but 2,7% less CR in total ect ect.
    All you can do at high investment is minor changes not full build reworks unless you rly want to suffer all that rng farming again 😂 The feature will most likely not improve your character at this point cause at this point it's more up to your preference than "random bullshiet go" . Maybe you enjoy fishing for crits, work around less ER but have better nuke potential and stuff.

    i can see why some would want to be able to save set loadouts though if they have a several different builds they're trying out.

    I've seen a lot of outro joke videos and that was by far the best 🤣🤣🤣 the ad break was perfectly timed and nearly got me! 😂 Don't worry Sevy, they could give us the smoothest artifact equip tool and I would still watch your build guides. I legitimately rely on your videos to build my characters *because* you give situational advice better than anyone else I've seen ❤
    Observations from my own experience: I'm helping a friend that is AR 37 and trying to teach him how to pick good artifacts. So we select the quick configuration and it picks the *most random* pieces with ideal main stats... because obviously majority of the player base isn't using beginner sets and he doesn't have AR 45+ sets. So I immediately threw those recommendations out to prioritize 2 piece/2 piece sets that would give better overall stats. That makes the fast equip feature useless for new players until they reach AR 45 and really begin the grind for good artifact sets and as you've shown is equally useless for players who already have established artifacts - which is honestly a very small window during which it's possibly useful *if* you're building your character the way majority of players already are. There's not enough nuance for builds like EM Raiden, etc. I was still hopeful as I'm a fairly new player at the beginning of my end game grind, but even I haven't found it as useful as guides like yours.

    It helped me with a few of my builds that I haven't checked to improve in a while, but it also recommended me to downgrade some of my characters.
    My Kuki had low 900 EM and no gilded dreams 4 pc, and it showed me that I could have 4 pc gilded dreams full EM and reminded me that I had a 117 MH flower. Now she's 998 EM 4pc gilded which is a nice improvement.
    I wasn't aware that fischl's new BIS was GT since I don't play her too much as she's only C2. But after changing around her artifacts she went from top 27% on Akasha to top 11% on Akasha which was nice.
    Now for the builds that... weren't so good.
    It told me to take my c0r1 ayaka from 144 ER to 105.8 ER... and the build doesn't even do more damage either, haven't tried the ER substat priority though.
    Also wanted my nahida to go from 56.7:180.6 Crit to 18.6:197 Crit for a moderate EM boost. She already has 660 EM which is enough for on field.
    And lastly it recommended my XQ to get 250 less atk, and go from 50.1:133.2 Crit to 63.7:82.6 Crit but it Increases his ER from 202 to 204
    Overall, probably useful for new players, and possibly useful for older players that have a lot of builds they haven't checked in a while.

    From my experience with the fast equip it’s better with older characters and builds my guess is that it has more data on them definitely doesn’t take weapons into consideration but I will say I have benefited from the feature when looking for pieces to roll due to its ability to find sub stats I think it’s definitely a good way to start a build or to find pieces to improve which helps after a couple days of artifact grinding just be careful with what set because it doesn’t seem to take into account set bonuses the best either so the new set that gives rate may build 80 crit even if the set gives 36 crit rate

  • @antrepeyous
    @antrepeyous Месяц назад +2

    What I'm taking from this is that it works purely on the numbers it collects from players and nothing else. No weapons, weapon effect, etc., which can work but there is also the matter of it feeling like I'm guessing the stats that I'm gonna get and that feels like a waste of time for me and it doesn't really teach me why those stats and this build works better than that other build or stat because there is no rational for what I'm doing. Another thing that I don't like is that I feel as though it doesn't take into account set effects which I don't personally like, even if it's just a two piece. I'll stick to manually equipping my artifacts and looking up guides as necessary, thanx.

    But I like to see similar system when we were be able to manually create own builds and save them, but anyway it is not hard to equip things manually when I know what I'm doing and why, so not really a problem, will be a nice feature, but not critical to have at all.

    The thing that concerns me the most is that it doesn’t seem to take set bonuses into account AT ALL. Say you’re building a hyper Raiden, you basically HAVE to select Emblem as she kinda needs the ER to burst dmg boost to do big damage. If you just let it choose random artifacts that happen to have more crit, sure your crit ratio potentially gets alot better but it doesn’t compensate for losing the set bonus in some cases.

  • @markfeathers
    @markfeathers Месяц назад

    I use this tool all the time personally... I'm super casual though. I unequip all my artifacts except for the four currently equipped players. When they rolled it out, I went through each player with all the other artifacts equipped and locked artifacts as it picked them. Then for sets like Emblem I equipped a set on a user then ran the tool on other Emblem users and locked those. So I can have two decently spec'd Emblem users at the same time. I had a lot of 5 star artifacts that were unlocked after all that. They got cannibalized for other artifacts. I've been levelling all the locked artifacts as they get equipped on units I play. This ultimately allowed a bunch of my toons to become immediately useful rather than trying to build sets for every single player. I did the same for weapons (without the tool/configurator). I still work on trying to optimize sets for particularly adored players (full Gilded EM for Shinobu as an example) but it's ultimately allowed what I've wanted to enjoy the most about the game... playing with different team builds.

  • @swekyde41
    @swekyde41 Месяц назад +2

    I'm really liking how everyone is shitting on it for doing 2pc/0pc or full 0pc builds despite the fact the community constantly parrots "sub stats > set bonuses". Reminds me of seeing complaints about the training guide allegedly not recommending crafted weapons people don't have when it absolutely does do that.
    There seems to be a fair amount of garbage in, garbage out from the system. For example you expressed you didn't like how much it was lowering Crit for EM on Alhaitham, but it was told to treat EM as just as valuable as Crit by the user. But then when you started fine tuning your primary and secondary substat desires it started spitting out approved results. Which probably isn't ideal for a system that's supposed to help people without knowledge to determine they're feeding it garbage.
    The Emblem tests started highlighting where high-end optimization is going to cause someone to diverge from popular options. A lot of people are going to be in the ER or Atk sands era of their Xiangling, so it makes sense it doesn't prioritize EM. EM is an optimization for teams that specifically Vape Pyronado but is absolutely useless in teams that don't. Meanwhile ER and Atk still work on those teams even if they're less good. With Xingqiu it likely isn't factoring in that you do in fact have C6 which massively changes the energy needs, but that amount of ER it suggested is correct if you don't (and eventually you came to this conclusion as well). The Beidou build that overcapped Crit rate is getting a ton of ER that it wants from the Circlet that happens to have some Crit Rate it no longer needs as far as I can tell.
    What I easily gather from it is that it's very possible you can have a tl;dr section of a guide where you tell people what settings to stick into the Custom Config for it to attempt to generate them a build out of their gear. It also will likely benefit from them possibly adding "generic" set options. Right now it lacks a "2pc EM" option so it can see the 2pc/2pc Gilded/Wanderer's for example. Something tells me it doesn't quite know that 2pc Gilded and 2pc Wanderer are the same, and that it's coded that way because it's extremely difficult for it to quantify some 4pc set bonuses so it doesn't quantify any of them.

    For new players as far as I know don't have to bother about sub stats too much. So, making the artifact set bonus a prority is THE way to do it imo. Remember, this feature is built for new players who don't farm anything. They don't have peices with good sub stats anyway. This is ment to be a good starting point, not an 'End Game' feature to 'Optimize' builds which I think they did it well. I've seen many comments in HoyoLab stating they started to care about building characters becasue of this.

    At this point I'm just resigned that I'll never get a good enough set to the point where I think I'm not gonna spend resin anymore on artifacts for the next few weeks. Every time they introduce something about artifacts, my immediate reaction is "meh." Honestly I didn't even remember that they were introducing this in 4.5.
    Although overall it feels like fast equip isn't going to live up to expectations because artifact stats and character building overall just require a lot of nuance beyond just crit rate and crit dmg that leaving it all to what I'm guessing is an algorithm is too simplistic that anyone serious about character building would be somewhat annoyed with what this function would suggest. I mean there's a reason why Genshin builds can get very complex to the point where some players still tear each apart whether or not a certain build is better than another or what not.

    As a day 1 player I really don't think it's that bad of a system even for long time players. It compares the average stats by other players which is why xingqiu gets a lot of ER with the emblem set. I aim for 200+ with him to generate for other hydro units or characters as well. Emblem also gets a buff with the amount of ER but you can see different characters got different ER stats for the quick equip. It gives a general idea based on what people use but there's always preference. Like i prefer atk sands on Xiangling instead of em because i use her in teams that don't use reactions sometimes (like navia, Bennett, zhongli).
    So it's good to check and to change yourself but the custom config is also more helpful. It let me compare my artifacts between characters and choose who to prioritise. Showing level 0 arts isn't too bad either as we can just swap that out. It was crazy that you got similar but obviously weaker stars with lv 0 artifacts sometimes though so shows potential for improvement as well. Hope they refine it further so we can set max percentage for some stats we aim for but currently very helpful for new players for sure. Maybe it would be as good as the genshin artifact calculator for maximum optimisation but i doubt that.

    It undervalues crit rate, in my experience, yet is more than happy to keep stacking crit damage. I wonder if this might have something to do with most crit weapons essentially being behind a paywall, especially when talking crit rate ones. That this skews the player data it is based on.
    Improvement-wise, I'd like the ability to have something between "steal artifacts" and "unused only". Like I'd like to be able to lock a certain character's artifacts, but leave others free to be pillaged.

      @@Nameless422-That's the irony. Hi3 is a game where every character literally has a personal set that's their BiS and no reason to ever change (with very few exceptions). Meanwhile in Genshin you can basically use anything on anyone but no way to save the sets you come up with

    220 ER isn't crazy for non-C6 xingqiu, so if it's basing ER needs off of what "most" players build, that stat distribution makes some sense
