Apart from her lore knowledge, I really don’t know why Hoyo does not offer Aster a job as a voice actress. Her voice is amazing! Cheers to you Sevy, keep them coming, it is so heartwarming to see your interactions with the guests and your questions do help us to get to know them better!
For the EN VAs that is handled by a third party company which is in the US so that would play a large part in who they hire. Actually that is still the same for CN VAs so it is probably the same for all languages.
It's a good thing she isn't. The company responsible for the EN VAs is terrible. Paimon's EN VA has basically been working for free for several months now because the company has not paid her yet. Same with other EN VAs.
As an aspiring Filipino content creator, thank you for sharing your talk right here Aster and Sevy :3
i had no idea chillwithaster is a comms student OMG I THOUGHT WE WERE AN ENDANGERED SPECIES IN THE PH INDUSTRYYY
also genshin's world building, story, and character development are some of the main reasons why i can't let it go, because as a comms student, the stuff hoyovorse cooks up is so juicy and interesting, i feel like i'm behind in media if i dont look into it. it's also really cool to hear aster do the parasocial thesis thingy, especially since games are such an underrated field (it's considered literature, but oftentimes movies and books are analyzed) to research in media, and i'm glad there are people like her that integrates it into their studies ^^
i love how you interview genshin creators and hear what they go through there life and genshin experience.
can you interview Murderofbirds next? hes also a story/lore guy.
also can confirm we filipino for some reason have a Build in radar in our brain that detects fellow filipinos.
MurderofBirds would be a good guest as well but he is quite busy for a bit and currently he has plans on September to go in a Disney Cruise with his girlfriend
But he is one if not the only creator for genshin to make a time capsule like commentary playthrough for nostalgia and not capitalize fully to get traction for just posting current archon quest to gain a bigger following.
Another good guest would be BranOnline one of the creators that joined late to genshin he joined during (2.3) but still gained a huge following especially when he caught up fast to the main story so insight and experience for fast growth is possible.
For a non specific gacha or whale OkCode is a decent guest he played Arknights, and was known to be a top player in the early days of Epic Seven which is a turn base game which can lead also towards his insight towards gacha games turn base (HSR and Epic Seven comparison)
@@Mystake2002 Thats unfortunately is the case for murderofbirds but still i hope he will be part of sevy talks in the future!
No we dont.

I suspected Aster was Filipino because of how she pronounced certain words. I just can't specify now what those words are but I know they were individual words. But I only confirmed it when she used Filipino terms like "utang na loob" in one (or more) of her videos.
I don’t comment ever but I just wanted to also say I’m loving this podcast. Thank you so much for thinking outside the box and for truly trying to connect with these amazing people ❤
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it :)
I didnt know Aster was Filipino😮. The more you know
I personally already knew from only being subbed to her channel for a brief time lol
I didn't even know Phillipines was a country 😅
Jk I do, y'all been plaguing the internet for the last five years.
I only couldn't tell before until I saw her post Filipino words haha
Ok
for some reason i kinda knew immediately 😭 it only got confirmed when i saw their twitter. i have a radar for other filipinos lol
Aster's content is great because you get informative videos narrated in a fun & cute way and disturbing videos narrated in a fun & cute way.
Good luck with Fontaine pronunciations. French is at odds with Filipino languages because of how many silent letters are used. The manadory French classes in Canada was easily the most difficult thing to acclimatize to when my family immigrated. We left when I was 5 & there are still times when the accent slips out. Unless you actively train yourself, like an actor or a business professional, you'll never be able to truly drop an accent.
Oof you're right, gonna have to be searching and practicing a bunch of pronunciations 🥴
First Ashikai and now Aster :000
Aster can't fool me, she started looking for hidden and dark genshin topics because she didn't want to talk about Sumeru
I was about to suggest going to interview Aster as a fellow Filipino Genshin creator, but seems like great minds think alike. Would love to see interviews of other Filipino Genshin personalities like Anne Yatco as well.
Ratana, Christian too!
Anne has already sat down and talked with MarcoMeatball for a podcast but having her on SevyTalks would be a blast too!
SO cool to see my favourite SEA genshin creators colab. Thanks to Aster I got introduced with the lore of Genshin and been watching every video of hers ever since. Love ur Podcast Sevy
Levy is such a great interviewer. Just so chill
Sevy, these interviews are AMAZING! I'm so glad you've started doing these. You're very good at interviewing genshin creators.
It is so nice to hear how a masscom student sees the game and even publishes papers about it. Also loved the section where Aster just talked about people in her audience 'smelling' her Filipino-ness xD
Thanks for another cool episode, Sevy!!
really feels like the Genshin/Honkai community is maturing and connecting, keep up the good work Sevy, the podcasts episodes have been such bangers!
This was really fun each episode is amazing and hard to find a favorite.
I was also one of those people who confused Aster with Ashikai back in the day lol. It was less of the voice, but more so that youtube would always recommend their videos back to back and their lore video styles are similar to my now understanding of how Genshin impact lore is vs how I'm used to watching lore content where is a lot more in all honesty dry with little humor or never really seeing the personality behind the information.
Both Aster and Ashikai put a lot of their personality into their content and that was very new for me in lore content and when I was new to both of them I didn't have much of a distinction between them past what my ears understood as "mildly unhinged girl rambling about genshin impact". After watching them both for years I see the differences in how unhinged they are and understand the overlap I previously thought was similar content style/interests is moreso just what they have available to actually talk about due to how Genshin provides it's lore.
I’m diggin the fact that you have a podcast now Sevy!
As someone who studied in social working and psychology. Parasocial interactions and statistics was subjects I loved to work on. Hearing someone else's take on it on a different field of study was really interesting.
I really enjoyed this episode. Thank you to both of you ^_^
Aster´s laugh gave me 147 years of life.
So adorable. Her guy is Lucky
you guys are my two favourite genshin youtubers in your respective areas of genshin content! im so glad to see this collab lol
The collab I never thought I needed
I couldn't stop smiling
You both are amazing
Ayooo didn't know Aster is a pinoy! It just so happens that whenever there is a new unit in Genshin and HSR I always watch Sevy's guides and I also watch Aster's Genshin lore videos. Love both of your creative contents!
It finally happened!
I love watching both of your genshin contents
Listened to this on Spotify, another great episode Will be excited for the future episodes after the flood of the Fontaine update comes
This was excellent, I love the Sevy Talks videos! I am a huge lore fan and really loved the last two videos with Ashikai and now Aster. Great job with the topics and questions, it was really interesting to hear what you both had to say as content creators. And as an American, you both sound very American to me 😂
28:15 ASTER is really pretty! Shes got a lovely voice too. Love her vids! Such an awesome interview and collab! Im really loving all the guests youve brought on so far Sevy. Really a great way to get to know more about the content creators we all enjoy seeing and interacting with. Anne Yatco in the future potentially? Im really interested in the VA industry. would love to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes for genshin VA's and others in general
Hopefully more VAs in the future yup :)
Time flew by, i finished it phew~ this was a good listen sevy! ive been enjoying ur podcasts a loooot!
Keep it up!
OMG!!! my two fav genshin content creators!
Eto na!!!!! Grabe ito tlga ung inaantay ko after Ashikai❤❤❤
You both are so good at English. I'm amazed😭 Keep up the good work po sa inyong dalawa. Padayon mga kababayan!
I thought English is like their second language, I’m a student in Thailand and all the foreign teachers from my middle school are all Filipinos who can speak English.
@@kokonut7342yah yah English is our 2nd Language but a significant amount of people here, like me, are not that capable of talking in full English for an extended amount of time, more so with a nice accent. If I would have to guess, the Filipino teachers in Thailand probably are trained to be able to communicate with English for a good amount of time.
Personally, I am capable of speaking in English for a long time, albeit with occasional stutters, heavy accent and nervousness😂. I am quite capable of writing in full english tho, it is just harder when you have to talk :)
@@owendavidmalicsi5900 Ohhh, also same I’m able to communicate in English but my accent is bad and stutter a lot when actually speaking. Thanks for the answer too!💗
Both of you are brilliant - keep up the good work, genshin or otherwise! 👍
Loving the podcasts recently, and as a aspiring Filipino creator, I appreciate this openness and honesty about the balance between content creation and personal life. ^^
Love to see two of my fave genshin content creators together.
Its nice to see youtubers try to make content
This is a collab i never knew I needed
What a great episode! Thank you for this Sevy and Aster!
Sevy and Aster 👀? Never thought I'd see the day, but I'm all for it.
Aster's voice is sooo cute. Collab of the century right here.
You 2 are a good speaker I'm not really interested in the topic but somehow I finished the vid.
Love these type of your podcast a lot❤❤
My two fave Genshin content creators!
waiting for this collab, luv u both

I have thoroughly enjoyed these podcasts
Great podcast, love it so much. What's a Filipino indeed. XD
I LOVE THIS EPISODE I LOVE YOU BOTH
Omggg i did not expect thisss
what a nice duet for full genshin experiences, the other one clear challenges, the other one tell stories
ok we need one more filipino puzzle guides
Thanks for interviewing our fellow Filipino RUclipsr Asturrr!!!!
am a filipino, can confirm, I immediately smelled (or rather heard) Filipino when I first heard you guys speak.
Proud to be Pinoy yay! Salute to tha gurls! Yasss!
That thing about mild Filipino accents is so true! People from English speaking countries think I'm American, Filipinos know instantly I'm Filipino, and people from the rest of the world have just... buckwild guesses as to where I'm from based on my voice. My favorite guess has been a South American confidently guessing I was surely from Eastern Europe.
My favorite one is that they said I sound French
she sounds so happy idk listening to her was making me giggle and happy lol
As an aspiring Filipino, thanks for being Filipino.
yeah.. i thought aster was same as ashikaii initially too, LOL
they give off the same vibe. I just knew Aster was different when i saw her video of mimicking Genshin voices
I knew it. Pinoy ka Aster❤❤❤❤🎉
Would love to see Brax in one of these, Sevy!
finally ate aster 🥹😍
Aster we love you 😭😭
Aster’s love making lore content inspired by Destiny is pretty cool. Betting she loves The Witch Queen
Another banger episode 🔥 such a variety of topics were covered and all are interesting to listen to! Solid advice at the end
45:00 "the court of fontaine has beautiful ladies but we've only seen neuvillette 😂
These are awesome :)
42:00 Alhaitham story quest is one of the best
I've been watching your content for a while now and it has crossed my mind before, is Sevy Filipino? that would be really cool if she is. And Omg you are!
didnt realize aster was filipino kekwait
23:00 I imagine some of this is due to americans co-opting nationalities/ethnicities and people resolting to "US defaultism."
Like I imagine a lot of filipino-americans call themselves filipino.
it really is weird. Most Filipinos somehow know if someone is Filipino. it's a skill.
I'm a new subscriber and I LOVE THIS SERIES! Both of you are so outspoken and eloquent. Good stuff! Filipina love! Nakakaproud. ❤️💕
"accused of being american"
a terrible fate indeed
Asteeer ❤❤❤❤
Aru Hiseki is also a Filipino Genshin lore channel. 😊
Wait for real?
I didn't know that! Been watching his videos because they're very interesting
as far as I know also Klementine
and Minsleif too i think? Mga pinoy historians talaga
You know the content creator is a Filipino when they say actually and not create a counter argument lmao. My brain is exploding right now having the both of you collab.
So when is Geemo going to be added here?
I lowkey expected both of yall to speak some tagalog for fun tbh lol, but I agree with Aster. We know who are fellow Filipinos are lmao. I think the easiest tell would be how we usually pronounce words with 'tu' in them. Americans would pronounce it was 'yoo-toob' or 'toos-day' instead of 'yoo-choob' or 'choos-day.' My friends would 'mock' me (in a lighthearted way ofc) for saying Tuesday the way I usually do, saying things like 'it's Chewsday innit?' LMAO
As someone conceived in the Phillipines (lol) I find it fascinating that Sevy's generation learns English as a first language. Im so curious now when this started happening and what parts of the country are still primarily Tagalog.
Mainly the large cities especially the capital and metro Manila do this. I’m from the main island of Luzon but from a tiny barangay and they primarily speak Tagalog.
Primarily in the provinces outside of NCR, the demographic there is composed of the "older generations" and mainly use their dialect and Tagalog/Filipino... As for when the trend you mentioned started, I guess it started with the Gen Z because they were mainly "exposed" to English audiovisual materials at a very early age as opposed to the previous generation who only encountered English because of school and movies... Generational, geographical and material divide go bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrttttttttttttttttttttt
I'm late millenial (early 90s). English is my first language and when I started working as a call center agent (lmao), I met people my age with the same situation.
@@claidheamhsoluis3044idk, I'm from outside NCR and I'd say that I've met more people outside NCR (in the call center industry, so mostly not from affluent families) have English as a first language. Like, people like me from a Tagalog province, Baguio, Visayas. When I worked in Metro Manila, I was under the impression that only wealthy Manileños (my age, born late 80s to early 90s) spoke English early in life. It's different now though! It's more normal to speak English at home, probably because our generation are becoming parents too.
Noted: The reason why sevy is good at guide making is because of physics major in university.
Dang that's rough, buddy
I find this podcast truly delightful to listen to, particularly due to its recognition of the dedication in the education and the authentic creation of content. I hold a great deal of admiration for those who've chosen this path and achieved success. Here's to you, Sevy and ChillWithAster! May your journey ahead be filled with even more positive experiences.
Yep, When I heard Aster's voice from the very beginning she posted her first RUclips lore about Genshin, same thought, yep she is Filipino 😅😂
first fellow filipineese too
i just wanted to hear Sevy speak one sentence in Tagalog. Lol.
Aster - I have heard her speak Tagalog in her videos. So i’m good. And Communication Research pala course niya under Mass Communication, which means she studies in UP Diliman siguro.
I want Doro44 next!!
Watching this I felt like I was right there chilling and having fun with you two! ♡( ◡‿◡ )
Yaay
Absolute shot in the dark but given what Aster said about her course and how her university tackles her course she's probably from UP Diliman Mass Comm BA Comm Research
Y'all I'am filipino and i didn't even know that Aster was filipino and I watch all the time
I JUST KNEW SHE WAS PINOY i could def identify our special breed of pinoy english everywhere!
wait commres.. iska?
i don't watch sevy that much but i always have a feeling that she is a filipino.
Do a duet with angeless pleasee
Asther still has the pinay accent and I like her channel
Funny thing is I figured out both are Filipino right away. I have suspicions about another popular loretuber, but I shall hold off on that.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
