Lots of people have already given great tips about resin but here's some more: Water doesn't mix well with resin, which is probably why the original hack used fake leaves. Basically it can "overactivate" the resin, cause an accelerated chemical reaction, and overheat and cause a lot of bubbling. The "weight" of the resin doesn't matter, if the leaves weren't glued down they float. A lot of people who work with resin will often do things in multiple pours, or use other strategies to secure an object to a spot. Also lots of people use a heat gun or vacuum chamber to get rid of bubbles. Wear gloves and work in a well ventilated area when working with resin!!! Nail polish remover gets out resin, or just acetone to break the bonds Resin is tricky but fun! I was worried yours was going to leak out the back of that tray, it would have been good to seal the whole bottom with modge podge then paint w/e an let that all dry before adding it. You should use a blowdryer/ lighter to pop any air bubbles on the top so you have a nice smooth surface. With my resin projects I have these huge plastic tubs to store my projects while they cure, keeps any pet hair out and contain that chemical smell. You could honestly buy another bottle of resin and do a layer on top of what you did to smooth out imperfections, its kinda rad in that way. Loved the vid!
You look like you feel much more put together in your "new" space! Tie dye tips: soak in warm water(with soda ash preferably) first, it makes tying everything easier. You can honestly tie just the Mikey part back up and put dye on just that spot. You could also just kind of draw it on with your dye.
*Me who works with resin as a living* oh Chloe no Pro tip, dry your leaves in silca gel first (works great with flowers too!) Also my fav resin is Unicorn Art resin (hope this helps someone)
If you work with resin be sure to have a ventilated space, be outdoor or wear a respirator! This is really important because the fumes are bad for you. Safety first. Also use gloves cuz it can irritate your skin.
Okay, because I work with resin too, let me help you out here. While your resin is still wet, you can wipe it away with isopropyl alcohol to clean it. Soap and water will not work, that'll just get stickier.. Otherwise, you have to wait until it's cured after 24 to 48 hours (depending on your resin's instructions), then maybe you can peel it up, but I dunno how well that's gonna work for your desk. I work over a silicone mat for that reason, makes cleanup way easier if I spill (which I do, I'm very clumsy). However, the way you filmed this has me a bit concerned because it wasn't clear whether or not you mixed the hardener and resin (parts a and b) together before you poured it on the piece. It looked like you were putting each chemical separately one at a time, and I'm not sure if that would actually cure. The idea is that you mix the two parts together for two minutes (or more depending on your directions) then pour it into your piece evenly and slowly within the 40 minute work time. You can employ a lot of techniques to make it smoother, like letting the bottles (while closed) rest in a hot water bath, or double mixing, which is pouring it from one cup into another to ensure it thoroughy mixes (my EasyCast resin actually requires that you do this, so I'm in the habit of doing it with all of them). Also, using a lighter overtop while it's still wet can help reduce bubbles in the final piece. For more information, I'd advise looking into some of NerdECrafter's older content, she's the main channel I learned from. I also learned a lot from BunnieDIY, Ayeshashasha!, and Rybonator, who all work with both UV and 2 part epoxy resin. Otherwise, this was a really entertaining video. Some of these hacks looked fun, and I'm tempted to give some of them a try in the future. ^^ I wonder if it would work to use a string of beads instead of a pull chain for that one painting technique, that could be interesting.
The video was amazingly entertaining.... I didn't actually wanted it to end. I loved the t shirt hack... The back part turned out amazing. Thanks for this great video.
Yeah from my experience you’re basically stuck with that resin until it eventually wears down in 6000 years. 😂 paint thinner or Dawn dish soap helps but there’s still a thin layer that never seems to leave.
Which is why I always wear gloves from before opening the bottles right through until I'm done touching anything to do with the uncured resin (some recommend double layering gloves but I find that more of a hassle than a help) and put down either a silicon mat or something like a bin bag (though I find the resin tends to stay wet on the latter long after the piece is dry) anything that will protect the desk and is easily cleaned away.
91% isopropyl alcohol works. I learned that from Stone Coat Countertops. First time I did coasters I forgot to put on gloves. One of my cups had a crack in it. My hands were so sticky. Washed my hands with the alcohol, they were no longer sticky. Had to use hand lotion 10x a day. 🤣🤣

@@hughesjulian u mean vanellope von schweetz, who is a "glitch' but isn't named glitch, If you know what i mean😅
@@hughesjulian Uhhhh, no. 🤣
Vanellope IS a glitch. That isn't her name.
You look like you feel much more put together in your "new" space!
Tie dye tips: soak in warm water(with soda ash preferably) first, it makes tying everything easier. You can honestly tie just the Mikey part back up and put dye on just that spot. You could also just kind of draw it on with your dye.
your baby yoda t shirt is just adorable loving it.......
Chloe in every video : I am gonna mess this up
End of the video : creates a master piece
Zisters Forever how did u get to the end of the vid already 😂💗 and hi bc I see u all the time now!
@@MintysSketchbook that's just in general but i know she is gonna make a masterpiece , and hi
@@MintysSketchbook and yeah she has created a materpeice finished the video
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT YOUR PODCAST CHLOE💖 I will definitely watch it after I watch this video!
It's not the feeling of glue it's the peeling of it after it dries
Ooh satisfying
Me: "That looks go--"
Chloe: "That looks really bad"
Me: "That looks bad"
"I'm too old" honey I'm 27 :') a glitch is like, a fault in visuals
how old is chloe?
thatkidmorganmariah i think like 24-26?
Wow....I feel even older, lol. I'm 33!!!!
Chloe: Their leaves in the resin are fake, but mine are real. I hope the resin preserves them.
Me who has made the same mistake: NO CHLOE! NOOOOOOOO!
Lol when you were doing that resin craft I could actually see and hear NerdECrafter judging you in her own adorable, salty way. 😄
Hey same 😄
I could hear her saying "oh no, oh nonononono" in that way she does when something is going/has gone very wrong.
I love your accent and your art!
And your humor!
for the failed mickey tie dye, you can just make another mickey face with a sharpie or something on the tshirt, and i think itll turn out pretty cool
*Me who works with resin as a living* oh Chloe no
Pro tip, dry your leaves in silca gel first (works great with flowers too!) Also my fav resin is Unicorn Art resin (hope this helps someone)
Me: mom can I dye my handkerchief..
Mom: Nope. That's wastage.
Chloe: dyes a hollister t shirt for nothing
The tie die wasn't that bad. But the marker on the shirt was..
@@petrescuework-difficultcas6581 yep!
Yes these are my favorite kinds of videos! Can’t wait to listen to your podcast as well! 😄
CHLOE I AM LITERALLY OBSESSED WITH YOUR T-SHIRT !!!
absolutely *loving* the lighting!!!!
I don’t know why but I kinda want to see chloe try and paint using house paint. Like how well can wall paint mix with others etc 🤔
You're cheerful and fun to watch! Thanks for the break!
If you work with resin be sure to have a ventilated space, be outdoor or wear a respirator! This is really important because the fumes are bad for you. Safety first. Also use gloves cuz it can irritate your skin.
r
Her shirt is soooo adorable!!!😍😍
For the watermelon 'hack', you should draw the seeds afterwards.
Your second bead painting looks like a tropical flower!👌 digging it
Yeah from my experience you’re basically stuck with that resin until it eventually wears down in 6000 years.
Sometimes it's easier to just sand it down
@@shizotypical From your hands? Well good luck with that.
I just wanted to let u know, I listened to your podcast, Spilling the Paint Water. I LOVE IT!!!! It's awesome and so inspiring! highly recommend.
Hey chloe you are the 👍👍best thanks a lot for your entertaining videos 💜
God I love this channel so much - you're reaction at 3:02 to your light falling over was just like "what now" lol
I'm so glad you have a podcast! Not kidding - I've been looking for an art/creative talk podcast to listen to but haven't found one I liked yet. I'm excited to listen to it and can't wait to see what future episodes you create☺️
Fabulous as always chloe! 💖 sewing if these hacks really work or not probably saves so many of us time and supplies!!!

I love the new aesthetic (background n stuff I see someone is already ready for spooky season) and that shirt!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER SHIRT!!!!!
Is it just me or are all the art RUclipsrs suddenly gotten better backgrounds and video quality
Just got done listening to your first wonderfully funny Podcast!! It was very entertaining! Looking forward to next week. 👍🏽❤️
It looks like lemon leaf. We used to use it as a filler when I worked at a florist shop.
I think it looks like salal, also a florist filler.
@@michelleb4697 Could be! They look pretty similar. Good eye!
Loving the new filming setup, it's amazing!
Please please please if you use resin in the future wear gloves! I know a lot of people use resin without it but you really shouldn't because it is quite toxic. Nerdecrafter is good with resin if you need guidance. I would guess 100% acetone would work to get it off since I'm pretty sure that stuff would dissolve a whole car 😂
I am soo excited to listen to your podcasts!!
My exams are going on right now so after each exam , I am going to listen to your podcasts and maybe draw along as a reward☺️😃

For the glitch effect if you add some lines with white on the border , and black lines too
It will be much more glitchy!
I’m confused. None of these hacks are that “genius”
sarcasm?
Yes sarcasm and also having a unique title every week is a task in itself. Going through my descriptive word dictionary 🤣
Chloe Rose Art thats actually kinda clever 😂
Ooo 2 roses together

I just learned out your Podcast and subscribed to your Podcast. I just finished listening to the Jazza interview & it was very informative. I like hearing Jazza’s views on RUclips algorithm and how kids who are younger vs older RUclipsrs may view themselves and RUclips who use RUclips as their profession.
Girl, cmon. You’re not “too old” to know what Rick and Morty is. it’s a raunchy adult tv show that isn’t new or anything and impossible to escape because of how popular it is. “Glitch” is just the effect that the art hack does because it makes the drawing look like when technology glitches out. The whole “I’m so old idk what’s hip with the kids!!” When you’re under 35 is getting so overused and annoying. Just because you don’t understand something doesn’t mean you’re like some grandma who can’t understand pop culture.
If you're 35, Rick and Morty was actually "after your time". And if you're not that into pop culture, you might not know it
I am soooo excited to listen to your podcast!😊
