    Thanks for the effort that goes into planning, filming and editing these songs, we all really appreciate it. You have a simple way of explaining things and educating as you go. I'm learning all different chord positions along the neck that I never would have picked up on my own, greatly appreciated.

    Bill Withers's songs are terrific. Thanks for this tutorial-- you made something seemingly complicated much more accessible. I love your explanations on strumming.

    Yesterday I heard this song and I wanted to learn it. It's a very memorable song from my past. You taught the chords to me in one night. Tonite I listened to you again....specifically to hear you again on your strum pattern. Now the song sounds infinitely better. You make it easy. You're a great teacher. Best wishes from Virginia.

    Clear, easily understood tutorial. The tone you get from your fingers, rather than using a pick, is amazing!

    • @OneChartguitarlessons
      @OneChartguitarlessons  3 года назад +2

      Aw, thanks, Richard. That’s kind of you. I was a pick player for the first half of my playing life, but I also find that finger playing gives you a lot more options and subtlety. It’s also good for reggae feels, which I love. Happy new year to you!

      @@OneChartguitarlessons Happy New Year to you too. Thank you for replying to my post: you know what, some RUclipsrs in your position don’t bother to answer comments and so it’s so refreshing to get a reply, thanks again!

      Not a problem at all, mate. Without subscribers, the channel dies. I started doing this at the start of COVID after many years of teaching, and I’m loving it. I hope to be doing this - and replying to people - for many years to come! Cheers.

    Hi Matt! Thank you for this tutorial! I love this song! I just downloaded the tab and will take this up as a challenge, as I just got comfortable with barre chords more or less up to the upper 5 frets. This song should take me up a level in terms of barre chords and knowing the notes on the fret board. And the rhythm in your rendition is awesome, too, another technique for me to learn and practice. And I will spend some time in the days and weeks to come exploring the library of songs and technique tutorials in your channel. Thank you again!

    Wow good! Clear! Even that crazy good counting! The rhythm is the heart soul of Bill Withers (the chords “talk” once married to the those awsome chords). Nice to encourage that Natural flow. Such talented and instructor!

    Thank you so much for this - I nailed this about 18 months or so back, but could never get the end of the bridge section after the walkdown- from the Amay7 aflat7 was "do stuff" in a sort of barre around the 5th fret & smudge...
    Sounds better now- thank you so much for revealing this bit! ;-)

    I don't see that bridge resolving in "F", I think it's actually an Ebmaj7 played at the 14th fret with the B string dropped to a Bb The F just doesn't sound right to me.

    Why is in f minor key

    • @OneChartguitarlessons
      @OneChartguitarlessons  9 месяцев назад +1

      Both the chords and the melody indicate that the key is Fm. It can also be thought of as Ab major. there are a few chords that are not strictly diatonic, which can be confusing. however if you follow the melody it is almost 100% in the key of Fm, and the progression resolves strongly to the Fm chord. Hope that helps.

      I once felt that I'd never get barre chords and my rhythm strumming sucked, but I worked on it (very slowly) over time, and all of a sudden I'm surprised and amazed at how simple they actually feel now. Practice, practice, practice!!!
