    I just bought 4 tweed suits from hockerty. They have a nice selection of fabric and colors. They fit perfectly. I’m a regular customer and besides some misplaced buttons on a coat I’m very happy with the quality for such a cheap price. Nice review !

    So when I take my arm measurement from shoulder to “where the thumb webbing meets the hand” it is 24.5”. When they make the jacket will they reduce the sleeve length appropriately? Since a sleeve that long wouldn’t be right for a suit since I would want some cuff exposed.

    it's interesting to see these pseudo-tweeds, useful I guess as cutting the wool does make it cheaper though I presume quality can vary. At some point I'll have the funds to try a suit, though I'd rather love a real tweed suit at some point.
    That pattern is indeed rather nice, though for me personally 70 percent is a bit too high in synthetic percentage. I'd worry a bit about breathability and whatnot, though a small amount say 30 percent at most I think is what I'd be comfortable paying for, myself
    Gotta say love the customisation aspect

      they do have 50/50. i think for sporting purposes it's alright however closer to 70/30 would be better.

    • @scottlewis775
      @scottlewis775 3 года назад

      @@RevAnakin true, but you wouldn’t recommend that someone looking for a firearm buy a water pistol. When they need the weapon it won’t be effective and will probably get them killed. Extreme as this example is, polyester follows a similar thought pattern, for one likely shouldn’t recommend that someone wear a “fabric” (that is truly fancy plastic) that doesn’t let your body breathe like it is supposed to. If one is allergic to wool, cotton provides a much healthier alternative.

    It's a nice suit for 300+ euros, but 30% wool, 70% polyester is a no no for me. I personally would pay more for a full wool tweed suit. Oliver Wicks has treated me well, with very good materials.

    • @QuintessentialGent
      @QuintessentialGent  4 года назад

      It all depends on your budget, and what you are looking for. This is the one I selected, because I liked the pattern and colors. Hockerty does offer 100% wool and other premium fabrics such as Vitale Barberis Canonico. Also, many brands sell a tweed suit that isn't 100% wool, so it just isn't them. You'll always pay more for the premium fabrics no matter where you go.

      @@QuintessentialGent the information is much appreciated. Unfortunately, for me that fact is a dealbreaker. Not to imply that you can’t find good suits made in Asia. I think your suit shows they can make a fine outfit, but for a bit more, you can purchase a finer suit made in Europe to your specifications at Oliver wicks. I’ve had my suits made to a more classic fitting. Something you would find in the late 30’s early 40’s with outstanding fabrics and at a reasonable price. I think we’re both content with our purchases, I just wanted to put another option out there. Gruße

      @@gabrielsandoval4994 options are great for us all. In the end it helps to drive quality, price, and customizations for the product. I would just like to point out that even the best Savile Row tailors use tailor shops in Asia for some of their ready to wear or cheaper bespoke options. It does help drive the price down.

    Looks good. They negative reviews at 5% although it appears they have scrubbed many negative comments recently by marking them as unrelated to their product (or something along those lines). Maybe they are having efficiency problems lately because of that virus. But I also found that communication with them is difficult. So I canceled my order. I do have a previous pair of pants and shirt, and I don't see anything wrong with them (except for the measurements I provided).

    • @QuintessentialGent

      A lot of the times the measurements are incorrect, which can then lead to problems with the sizing of the garments. That's why I provided my measurements in the video, and measured out what it equated to on the finished garments.

    Hockerty is Terrible. The customer service is awful and they don't deliver products. And if they don't deliver it they then refuse to help. I spent 130 usd on a shirt to have it never show up.
