How do I change my existing Sony EV-1 into a Sony EV-10, by adding an asterisk?
I would suggest, take a look at the Emeet S600 .... This is also very budget-"ish" but for the pricepoint, thats solid. I'm not disappointed at all... It'll replace my Sony A5000 (which I used as my webcam with a clean hdmi out mod)

I'd still recommend buying a old mirrorless camera and capture card as well as a good lens. Will be much better than any webcam

In deed I want to try getting one of the 1"-class cams like the Canon G5 X Mark II, which can output a clean HDMI.
I do a lot of cycling-holidays, and this light, compact cam (with a viewfinder) would double as carry around cam on tour, where my big DSLM-equipment simply is too heavy and the trip is worth not only being shot on the smartphone.
But be carefull with "old mirrorless" or the previous 1" cams (Sony, Panasonic, Canon) and check first, it can provide a clean HDMI... as some older cams where not able to or had a hard limit on the recording-time etc.
Tbh it will be way more expensive than an elgato pro tho.
At this point going for a camera is not rly worth it anymore unless you have one anyway IMO
@@maxzett that's why I explained the 2nd usecase... and I already would have a decent cam, to use as hdmi-source - I just don't want thate "monster" behind my monitor all the time - resp. having to unmount and setup it all the time I really need it as cam.
For the casual business-meeting I have a simple Logitech 922... decent enough for a small teams-window in a conference-call, where half the people just use their builtin cam in the notebook (and I have some light)

@@maxzett Yeah, even comparing Elgato to Elgato, the cheapest 4k60 capture seems to be the (imaginatively-named) 4k60 Pro internal capture card. So... £180 for the capture card alone or £300 (UK prices) for the Facecam Pro. And I say this as someone who does have a mirrorless camera which I use with a capture device. My setup is more like £400 and is only 1080p60.

As someone that owns a Kiyo Pro Ultra, you're absolutely right - when I first saw it's natural bokeh I had to made sure I didn't have a filter turned on lol

@@javalfo277 I've never owned the Pro, but the Ultra is a large sensor, 4k webcam. I'd say it's a pretty significant upgrade.
@@javalfo277 My guy you can literally just search it up on youtube. there are already a couple vids on it lol. There isn't even that much of a drastic difference if you're comparing 1080p 60fps. But obviously the ultra has 4k 30 fps so there's that.

Worth saying that if you're running on Android, Droidcam functions largely the same as EpocCam, but integrates into OBS (for free)
There's no Elgato customization with it, but it's not too bad if you're down to apply camera filters in OBS! :)
And Epoccam doesn't support Android. I feel like that should have been mentioned

Did you use the ZV E10 in USB mode though? The quaility and noise looks bad even for a kit lens and the FPS seems off to be through HDMI

I’ve been using the E-10 for Years. But the epoc setup works super well. Have used that in tandem for some alternative stuff
Wow the phone camera looks pretty good for a starter. The elgato doesn’t seem bad either but I feel a new version will come out after I buy one LOL. Off the subject though how do you like that beacn mic? I want to get one but scared to get one and on comparing it to the shure mv7.
@Senpai I own the Elgato FaceCam Pro. With a recent update to the software, it is now possible to do things like AI face detection and tracking, blur the background or replace it with an image, or use the creepy but cool eye contact feature.

What's with the motion glitches from the zv-10? That camera can definitely look better
im sure he plugged it in via USB. (720p - no 1080 or 4k) next thing is i believe he rendered this video wider than 16:9 so he had to zoom in. What you see is not nearly what this cam can do. (but i also believe he has done this on purpose - cause if you buy a webcam you dont need extra stuff - plug and play style)^^

I remember those big ass bulbus webcams that came wit their own little tripod stand and they would come with their own software you'd have wait like 20 minutes to download, then set up, and when you finally set up it doesn't really work, the call is always spotty at best.
Those were some times.

Still rocking the Nexigo N660P 1080 60fps webcam and loving it.
I find that recording in 4K takes up way to much memory even for short vids, takes longer to import/export from software, longer to upload and process for smaller RUclips channels. 4K does not matter when watching from your phone when out and about. Most have the auto setting enabled for vids and 1080p is just fine.
(Use my iPhone pro for higher res pics for thumbnails 😊)

I was hoiping to use Epoccam with my older cell phones, but no android support. They said it was coming when it first launched years ago and now they won't. They kept saying on reddits they were rebuilding it for android then stopped over 2 years ago.
I have the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra and I love it 🤎 worth every penny. Looks great when I film a video and amazing going live ☺️

Insta360 are probably still in a lot of content creator bad books after the scandal with the X4 (where they asked creators not to disclose that their videos were sponsored).

Gosh! I love the look of the OBSBOT. A family member has the 360 Link and the image quality on it is fabulous! So cool to see the OBSBOT have such quality at that price point. Do I finally move away from my refurb'd GoPro Hero 3+ & £10 capture card for the OBSBOT? Maybe, we'll see!

I remember the first time I ever used a webcam was on Yahoo chat in the quality was so horrible that when you would move it would be blurry it was a 1.3 megapixel camera but back in 2003 or whatever that was. People were blown away that you can actually see somebody that they were talking to. Nowadays we take it for granted that everything is HD and the resolution is pretty good

For dedicated webcams, I have an Obsbot Tiny 2 and/or an AVerMedia PW513L. Using either one usually means I have the best video of everyone on the call. I also have a C920, but it's a backup now. I thought I would be using my Canon R50 as a webcam, but it's very much overkill for that.
Epoc keeps trying to give me issues with wifi streaming lol
I love that webcams have come a long way but I am def more excited by actual cameras coming the other way, like the E10 in this video. I struggle to see why I would buy the higher end "webcam" models here instead of a Sony ZV-1F or ZV-E10. Used those cameras can get relatively cheap and just offer more.
I purchased a Sony A5100 off of FB marketplace for my main camera and have a elgato facecam as my second. I did use my pixel 8 pro as my man camera for awhile but I found I missed texts and stuff when I was on stream, so it wasn't practical. For me anyways
I used the main camera of an older flagship Android phone as a web cam for remote learning using android-only IP Webcam several years ago. With adequate lighting it was the best image of anyone in the class, for better or worse. If Epocam is a less jank solution that works on Android as well as iOS, it would be worth the paid upgrade.
Own a facecam pro, really love the simplicity of it. Swapped from a Sony ZV1, which of course had better quality, but the simplicity of the facecam pro makes it so much easier for me
WHY has RUclips stopped showing your videos in my feed (I checked, still subscribed)? This is absurd that RUclips even suppress the most non-controversial creators. Why is RUclips failing so hard? 😮💨
Sony a5100, Elgato Cam Link Pro, Sigma 16 mm, f1.4. Still one of the best combos if you are okay with 1080 which is still great for streaming.

Had budget to get any of those. But decided to buy Facecam mk2 + lights + second portable monitor + midi controller.

i'd still recommend people the a5100 from sony. I still rock that thing and its REALLY cheap to get nowadays. Its also 1080p 60. :)

OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite's quality looked slightly better than EFP- 4K60FPS. The 60fps was immediately noticeable though. I'd say the Razer one looks the best with, weirdly enough, the last camera being the 2nd worst next to logitech.
I think something must be wrong with your video cos picture from Sony camera is choppy too and look grainy - maybe this is youtube ?

honestly, still got and am happy with my logitech C920 .. i've even got an older C910 on my office PC which for general use is more than fine! honestly though I might upgrade just for the new and shiny 😂

I think you're better off getting a Canon RP and a 24mm 1.8 lens
For any of y’all using your phones with epoc cam a way better option is Camo the free functionality is way better then epoc cam
Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra has the largest sensor of any dedicated webcam, so if you can afford it, and don't need a motorized gimbal, that's where I would start.
The fact that the quality from the Sony ZV-E10 was worse than most other webcams features in the video... was that on purpose?

I had the Elgato Facecam Pro and I was really disappointed in it.
Yes before you come at me with "YOU NEED BETTER LIGHTING BRO" My Builtin Macbook Pro Camera without any lighting looks so much better than the Elgato Face Cam Pro.
No matter the settings I used it just looked really bad.
