Brtt Michael's loves playing so much, that when Poison doesn't want to tour, he has a separate band, The Bret Michael's Band that he tours with. He may be the most charismatic front man in ANY band!
When they did the tour with Def Leppard and Motley Crue a few years ago, I read a review that said Bret's voice is the only one that has held up over the years. The guy said Joe couldn't hit the high notes anymore and Vince should have hung up it up a long time ago.
Amber & Jay, here are some other good Poison songs to react to: "Fallen Angel", "I Won't Forget You", "Your Mama Don't Dance", and "Livin for the Minute".
Being a teenager in the 80s was amazing and im grateful to have been there for all of it! I was born in 1970 so I was a kid, preteen, teen and adult all in the best decade. Blessed
In 2005, a co-worker asked me if I liked the band POISON because the drummer, Rikki Rockett, was coming over to her house that day to buy a motorcycle from her husband and that I could come over if I wanted to. So, I grabbed my Look What the Cat Dragged In vinyl and headed to her house. I met up with her in their garage and there was Rikki looking at the bike. After introducing us we went in the house for a drink. I got to talk to Rikki about motorcycles and drums, as I am a drummer myself. Rikki signed my vinyl and I got a picture with him. A few years later, my friend Courtney Cox was a member of Femme Fatale who was opening for Vixen at the House of Blues in Anaheim/Disneyland. I was close to the entrance when I saw a familiar face come in the door. The man had his hair in a pony-tail and was wearing a poncho looking very incognito. I said, " Hello C.C.", C.C. said "Hello" back and gave me a bro hug and hand-shake. So, meeting two out of three members of Poison unexpectedly was pretty cool. But, that's just two of many 80's Rockers I've able to meet in my life.
On drums, I asked Rikki what happened to the drums he used on the Flesh & Blood tour and in the video above, and also in the Unskinny bop, and Flesh & Blood sacrifice videos, because I always liked the Clockwork Orange movie paint scheme he put on them, anyways he said they were stolen. I guess that's why in later tour dates he had a set with flames on them so I dont know if they were stolen during that tour or in later years, but Ill never forget that story. He had them at the show I went to in march of 91 so at least I got to see them in person before someone took them.
Something that I like so much about 80's music is that somehow there is an underlying feeling of joy, hopefulness and ''life is fun'' kind of thing, even in the sadder or darker songs. This song is a good example of this.
Just saw Bret Michaels perform last weekend. He put on a killer show. He still has it. What an amazing man! He thanked the audience after almost every song and has such an affinity for the military. You still have some Poison hits we are all waiting to see you guys react to. Hope to see them soon.
JOURNEY - " In The Eyes Of A Woman " More Amazing 80s with the Timeless sound of the era not only is Steve's voice at its peak best but also the music arrangements are at their very Best Chek it out 🔥it's FIRE!!!
Love the 80's and 70's. I was born in 71 so I was a teen in the 80's and did my share of partying in the 80's to Hair Metal, Heavy Metal and all kinds of Rock!
Poison was the first concert for my 2 boys. I've seen them 4 times, 3 of those with my kids. They love these guys and all their songs are in their playlists. We've always had fun at Poison shows.
I know Rob totally feels the music but with videos and especially live videos he misses so much of the joy and entertainment of the band and great time capsules. Especially of this era.
One of my FAVORITE Poison songs! Loved that Amber acknowledged what a great front man Bret is. I have seen them so many times, on their last tour with 3 other bands, Bret blew all of them out of the water. And I love all of those other bands. I don't think Bret stopped jumping around for a single second. He brings so much energy to to crowd!
Brett is great...i saw him last summer here in pa...true down to earth rocker.... and very patriotic...he helped replace all the tattered and old flags at a local veterans cemetery the same day of the concert....love him and love poison...
These guys played Motley Crue off the stage at the stadium tour. Every rose has its thorn is definitely the next one you have to hit by them and then something to believe in. They are two of the best power ballads of all time.
Great, one of my favorite Poison song!! Here's a list of bands and songs for you guys. Tesla - Hang Tough L.A. Guns - Never Enough RATT - Body Talk Great White - House Of Broken Love White Lion - Wait Extreme - Decadence Dance W.A.S.P. - Blind In Texas Cinderella - Gypsy Road Winger - Down Incognito
I saw Poison open up for David Lee Roth's band in Jax Fl in 1989. Great show! But i swear during DLRs set when he broke out those inverted South American drums and played them on stage while Steve Vai and the band played spooky fills in the background, DLR said, '...I have the power of the talisman..! I swear a few of us heard it. I wondered if that drum solo was actually a ceremony.
I saw Poison live in 1988 and them along with Scorpions were the cleanest tightest sounding bands I've ever seen live, and I've been to over 400 concerts in my lifetime: from Joan Baez to Metallica, from Winton Marselles to Halestorm, from Cyndi Lauper to B.B. King. I think Jay would love some 80's hard rock Dangerous Toys "Teas'n Pleas'n" and Junkyard "Hollywood".
Poison is really just 3 albums. Their debut, Look What the Cat Dragged In (1986) was raw and harder rock, introducing them to the scene with a few hit singles. Then came Open Up and Say... Ah! (1988), which was the height of their popularity, where you will find the majority of their hit singles. Then came the album this song is on... Flesh & Blood (1990). It sold a ton coming off the previous album, but, as you noted, it's much more soft and poppy then what made them famous. Then grunge hit and they faded into oblivion with the rest of the pure hair metal bands. It was a good run, but really short.
Poison songs y’all should check out: Look What the Cat Dragged In, Cry Tough, I Won’t Forget You, Mama Let Me Go To the Show, Look But You Can’t Touch, Fallen Angel, Your Mama Don’t Dance, Life Loves a Tragedy, and I Hate Every Bone In Your Body (But Mine)…
Love POISON! Such a great party band that just gives it everything for their fans. One of the bands that made the party level up when songs were played. The energy of a POISON concert is infectious! I have seen this band play live more than any other because they were constantly touring and opening for bands or they were the main act. They, genuinely love to tour and their fans appreciate everything that they give in their shows. They sound amazing live! This is off of their FLESH & BLOOD album (1990), which was incredible and showed their growth as writers and musicians. Unfortunately, the end was near for bands like Poison with grunge and a new style/sound around the corner. Fortunately, they got this one last album in of incredible music and while they did put albums out after this one, they just didn't seem to fit the times and the band seemed to be lost in where it wanted to find itself. It was stuck between their image/style of the 80's and this new sound which fans didn't want to see them change and others simply found them a cliche. But what was once old is new again! The band has endured unlike many of their peers and they continue to make great music and play live. For the fans, that is all that matters.
Sutherland concert several times back in the 80s and early 90s and they always put on an amazing show my brother was doing lights for one of the shows and he said they were some of the nicest guys you'd ever meet
I had a snowball fight with CC and Bobby back in the day then went on their bus and they shared their food and beer we with me and my Friend back in the 80's. Really Nice Guys. Seen Poison 17 times
I grew up in Louisville KY and was at this concert. Alot of this footage is from the concert...CC DeVille was actually arrested in this at a bar called The Toy Tiger, he was wasted 😂
Love it!!! Their debut album is still my favorite overall, so may I suggest you revisit that one and do their debut single, "Cry Tough" and/or the title track, "Look What the Cat Dragged In"? Love Y'all...mean it 🙂
This is a STAPLE of ANYONE'S road trip playlist. You HAVE to blast this song while on the highway! 🛣 You HAVE to try "Flesh and Blood", "Mama Don't Dance", "Life Goes On", and "I Won't Forget You".
Bret will always have my respect for 2 things. Yes, he slipped at times, partying too hard but he fought back and dealt with insulin shot juvenile diabetes everyday of his life and as hard a ricker as he is, his kids have always been his top priority .
Saw them live in 87 in New Orleans and Lita Ford opened for them awesome concert!!! Here's an interesting side note I was impressed with Lita Ford's drummer he was killing it, turned out her drummer was Eric Singer who went on to be the drummer for KISS in the mid 90's who I'm a huge fan of so bonus!!! 👍😎

You guys did this song two years ago. I wonder if you remember? You seem to like it more this time than last maybe because you've grown in your music Journey.
I absolutely LOVE Bret Michaels. He was always my favorite hair band front man. I've seen them in concert 3 times. Bret loves to be touring. He has his own band separate from Poison. We have a fair in the area where I live called Mississippi Valley Fair and they have 5 nights of BIG name artists come. He is coming with his band this year and I definitely want to be there. He is my celebrity husband (he just doesn't know it) 😏😂
Such a great song :) Makes me think road trip with the windows down, sun shining, and nothing but sagebrush and prairie for a hundred miles or so... "Wings" by Tyketto and "Down in Flames" by Blackhawk take me there too
Check out the band, D.A.D......you could fall down that rabbit hole. Their first two albums were nonstop bangers all the way through!! Girl Nation, Jihad, Sleeping My Day Away, Bad Craziness!!
The first Poison album had a sound similar to Motley Crue in my opinion. It was more rocking. "Want some, Need Some" is a great rocking song. I think Pearl Jam would be considered 1990's grunge.
I am new to your channel and pleased that you cover so many genres of music. What led me to your channel was the reviews you done about Spandau Ballet and sincerely hope that you do more of their stuff. I would recommend Through the Barricades, Raw and Once More. These songs cover the latter part of their initial career and the reunion some 20 years later. Hope you are able to do so. Many thanks.
In 1990 poison was performing on the arsenio hall show, and CC was so drunk/drugged or just wanted to play what he wanted. CC would play a different song of theirs while the rest of the band was playing another song. Which led to poison going their separate ways from CC for 8-10 years.
CC Devil is the most underrated best giturest of all time, he created the most iconic tracks , riffs , and solos of all time , and people forgot him, wake up , " every rose has its thorn " was totally written by CC Devil just remember that ! " Nothing But a Good Time " was written by CC Devil ! Yes the other band members helped Bobby Dall excellent Bass player , Ricky Rocket very good drummer , Bret Michaels very very good front man always and I love him , but CC Devil should be up there with Slash if not better ! Slash once said he copied CCs riffs !
Hey Rob Squad! can't wait for more of your Abba Reactions, my friends *some suggestions: As Good As New Move On That's Me Summer Night City (long version) I'm A Marionette Put On Your White Sombrero Angeleyes x
i think you guys might have done this song, either way you need to do FALLEN ANGEL by POISON. its their best rocker then try every rose has its thorn for a great ballad by them!
I got a band for you from the eighties. One of my favorite bands Armored Saint. Some people might consider them hair metal by I feel they were just metal. One of those few bands that didn't fall into the categories. Songs to check out are Can U Deliver, Long Before I Die, Raising Fear and Chemical Euphoria. I only chose songs from the albums they released in the eighties, to start off.
Some other Poison songs suggested: "Fallen Angel" (of course), "Look What The Cat Dragged In", "Cry Tough" (this song is more Power-Pop oriented), "Stand" and some deep cuts like "Want Some, Need Some", "Valley Of Lost Souls", "Let It Play", "Poor Boy Blues". Some other "hair-bands" recommended: - Faster Pussycat: "Poison Ivy", "Babylon", "House Of Pain" - Enuff Z'Nuff: "New Thing", "Fly High Michelle" - Black N' Blue: "Hold On To 18" - Quireboys (also known in USA as The London Qireboys): "7 O' Clock", "I Don't Love You Anymore" - Dangerous Toys: "Teas'n Pleas'n" - Babylon A.D: "Bang Go The Bells", "The Kids Goes Wild", "Hammer Swings Down" - Bulletboys: "Smooth Up In Ya" - Jetboy: "Feel The Shake" - Love/Hate: "Blackout IIn The Red Room", "Wasted In America" - Helix: "Rock You" - Killer Dwarfs: "Dirty Weapon" - Saraya: "Love Has Taken Its Toll" - Badlands: "Winter's Call" - Tora Tora: "Guilty", "Walkin' Shoes" - Kingdom Come: "Do You Like It" - Bang Tango: "Someone Like You" Some rawer, grittier hair bands: - Circus Of Power: "Call Of The Wild" - Zodiac Mindwarp: "Prime over" - Every Mother's Nightmare: "Walls Come Down" - Spread Eagle: "Switchblade Serenade" Some Heavy Metal bands with Glam/Hair Metal influences: - Loudness: "Lonely Heart" - Leatherwolf: "Hideaway" - TNT (a Norwegian band): "10000 Lovers In One" - Fifth Angel: "Time Will Tell"
Such a great song! Check out "Fallen Angel", "Look What the Cat Dragged In", "I Won't Forget You" and "Life Goes On" 🤘
CC’s solo in Life Goes On is probably his best in my opinion
@@bigh9248 Yes 💯%!

In 1990 poison was performing on the arsenio hall show, and CC was so drunk/drugged or just wanted to play what he wanted. CC would play a different song of theirs while the rest of the band was playing another song. Which led to poison going their separate ways from CC for 8-10 years.
That was Arsenio hosting the MTV music awards.
@@williamyates694 oh ok thank you for the correction. I remember arsenio there, I thought it was his show.
Slash once said he copied CCs riffs !

i think you guys might have done this song, either way you need to do FALLEN ANGEL by POISON. its their best rocker then try every rose has its thorn for a great ballad by them!
