Poison had a string of big hits back in the 80s. This was one of the ballads that put them on the map. Something to Believe In, was another. But they had lots of hard and heavy party rock kind of songs. Talk Dirty to Me, Unskinny Bop, Look What the Cat Dragged In, Fallen Angel, Nothing But a Good Time, are some of them!
'Something To Believe In' is a great song. This song truly stands the test of time. If you happen to choose this song, you'll want to listen to it with the official video so you can get the full effect of what the song is all about. 'Nothin' But A Good Time' was one of their better rockers.
Poison started as a glam rock band... they looked like women on the cover of their 1986 debut album 'Look what the cat dragged in'... The drew a lot of women to their shows and they bought a lot of their records cos they were a fun band to party to. 'Every rose has its thorn' became Poison's #1 single in 1988 - it was written by Bret Michaels (lead vocals) about his own breakup w/ a woman... 'Something to believe in' ... and "I won't forget you"... were Poison's ballad hits. Some of Poison's hard rock hits - "Nothin' but a good time" ... 'Ride the wind' ... 'Talk dirty to me' ... 'Unskinny bop' ... '(Sacrifice) Flesh & blood)' Poison is: Bret Michaels (vocals), C.C. DeVille (guitar), Bobby Dall (bass) and Rikki Rockett (drums)... C.C. DeVille was fired in 1991 and replaced by guitarist Richie Kotzen... then, Blues Saraceno... However, C.C. DeVille reunited w/ Poison by 1999 and is still w/ the band today. Bret Michaels also records and tours as a solo artist.
I was in Wally World, looking through the albums, with my friend, Bill, not long after that album came out. He called my attention to the album cover saying, "Look at this band. They're all hot chicks." I had already seen them on MTV and knew. The look on his face when I told him, "They're all guys," was priceless.
Poison were a band I grew up on, I was 15 in '89, loved those first 3 albums! Look What the Cat Dragged In is probably their " heaviest " song but Nothin' But a Good Time, Ride the Wind, Fallen Angel, Want Some, Need Some, are all good rockers. Good video ladies!
Yeah this era is a bit between both Donna’s era and Kathy’s. I’m 49 so when I was in junior high and high school was when so-called “hair metal” (and other late 80s/early 90s rock and metal) peaked. As much as I loved 70s rock at the time, this is the stuff that was on the radio and MTV (though I enjoyed such bands as well). I recommend “Unskinny Bop”. One of the first handful of songs I learned when I first started playing bass. Heheh
This is one of my favorite bands as well. This is my 2nd favorite song from them, out of a whole lot of great songs. My favorite is Give me something to Believe in, another ballad. If you want to rock a bit, got Unskinny Bop, Nothing but a good time, Fallen Angel, Ride the Wind, Love on the Rocks, and several more.
You're fine Mom/Grandma (Donna)...don't worry about it! It doesn't matter! You were focused on more important things in life during that time 💞 It was all background music. I got your back!
Thanks once again for some great feedback and how many bands do a Power Ballad, that's what we called them, with a 12 string guitar and a double neck :)
This song always reminds me of Bill and Ted. When he says to death. Every rose has its thorn, and every Cowboy sings a sad,sad song as it’s a piece of poetry. 😅
Poison did a cover of GFR’s We’re An American Band. Bret Michaels, the singer also did a TV show. The band was named Paris when they were clubbing in the early days of their career.
Donna and I are close in age. For her to not recognize the name Poison, I suspect that she was listening to Alabama and The Judds at the time. Me too..but it was secondary to rock. A hillbilly kid from Kentucky who was raised in Michigan.
Kathy is very beautiful today. Not being a perv. It's an observation. This song meant a lot to many people. Poison at that time was HUGE in the industry. I love watching the generation reactions and laugh with it as much you probably do. Great reaction ladies! Keep em' coming! GO BOSTON BRUINS!!!🍻🍻🍻🤟👏
Check out "Ride The Wind", by Poison. It's one that I like listening to, when I'm riding. That's a faster song. Another slower one is ""Something To Believe In ", which is good, too.
Bret Michaels, Jani Lane (Warrant), and Matthew and Gunnar Nelson (Nelson) were the :pretty" blonde boys that the girls liked. They were all talented songwriters and singers.
I got a picture of my son with Brett Michaels from about 10 or 12 years ago. My son's girlfriend's uncle is Brett's tattoo artist. When Brett was in Dallas, they all went to dinner after his show.
Sad story about this song, Bret Michaels (lead singer) said that he was on the road with the band in Texas and went to a laundry mat and was washing his clothes and called his girlfriend back home and she wanted to cut the call short, then Bret heard a man in the background. he finished his laundry, knew his relationship was over and sat down and wrote this song.
This is a completely 100% glam band They really don't have "harder" music. They do have high energy music. Try "Nothing But A Good Time". That will give you everything you want to know about the band. They do have other hits too.
Your forgiven Donna for not knowing Poison. They put out some pretty good tunes though. A typical rock band of the 80's.....I like the recorded version much more as opposed to this live one! This was one of their hits and one of the only ones I liked.
Great reaction as usual . . I only realy tuned in for . . The Hair Report by Lulu . Intetnational reactor to the stars. . I was a blond kid . And tall so was always in the middle of class photos 🙄 .Now ,as the song goes ." Its a whiter shade of pale ". . Grey . . . Take care ladys . Till next time . Bye from NZ . 💐💐💐🇳🇿twa
You should react to some of beyonces new songs from her country album titled “cowboy carter”. My favorites are Most Wanted ft Miley Cyrus, also her new version of Dolly Partons Jolene ❤.
Love you all, how do I get you to react to one of my songs? The reason I ask I lost my oldest son and I would love for you to react to one young lady he was following very and trying to promote.
Brett Michaels actually fell on stage cause he's a diabetic i don't know if he fell off the stage but i know this if you were to fall off the stage cathy you'd fall into my arms❤
Just a suggestion, in the latest videos your faces look blurred, very unnatural. Maybe you changed something in editing, my guess would be you are overdoing the noise reduction on the image, which causes loss of texture in your skin. if you compare the latest videos, for instance with the one of tina turner 3 weeks ago you will notice the difference. You should check it. Regards.
talk dirty to me,unskinny bop, ride the wind, I won’t forget you, something to believe in

Great song from their second album. They were fantastic live! 👍👍🤘🤘. I was 30 back then lol.
You're fine Mom/Grandma (Donna)...don't worry about it! It doesn't matter! You were focused on more important things in life during that time 💞 It was all background music. I got your back!
Thank you so much!
Yes song talk dirty to me. And look what the cat dragged in.

Thanks once again for some great feedback and how many bands do a Power Ballad, that's what we called them, with a 12 string guitar and a double neck :)
Another classic song Poison had many hits but this is perhaps their ost famous song and biggest hit
This song always reminds me of Bill and Ted. When he says to death. Every rose has its thorn, and every Cowboy sings a sad,sad song as it’s a piece of poetry. 😅
You should check out the band Warrant, Uncle Tom's Cabin. Big hair, and great rock and roll.
I've seen them play live a couple years ago and they still rock
Great song 😊
This was a huge smash. They had a ton of hits from 87 to 93. Nothin but a good time is a great video. Its a rock anthem
.
Poison did a cover of GFR’s We’re An American Band. Bret Michaels, the singer also did a TV show. The band was named Paris when they were clubbing in the early days of their career.

As good as they are alive this song is much better studio version
"We are not Poison. We are Cyanide. A tribute band to Poison." --a glam metal band's monotone disclaimer before concert on The Simpsons. 😜
@ 07:38 - .... So, I'm not the only one 😁...
7:56 - That's hilarious.

If you liked this you'll love Weird Al's version

Poison really was the band that ruined the 80's.
No way
@@RayfordRaySiegel Way. Super way. I'm friends with someone really, really close with the band.
