Got 99 Cooking yesterday and needed to get into the guild to get my cape. So I headed off and thought they'd let me in 'cause I'm a "master" of cooking. Guess what? They didn't let me in because I needed a chef's hat... Seriously? So I went to G.E. and then I thought to myself, hell nah, I'm not spending my hard earned money on some crappy hat that I just need for 1 second. So I went to kill the goblins. Can you believe me, I've been killing goblins for almost and hour and got no hat. So yeah, I went back to the G.E. and bought one for freaking 5k... If I knew that my luck with goblins would be that bad, I'd rather spend 5k and not waste and hour... ~KrashOPS
I know man but GE just makes everything so easy. I have bought most of my quest Items and the I just tele to the place and complete it. I agree but you have to remember that chef hats are rarely put up on ge just like other random items

I'm pretty sure that is how it always has been with the reduced burn on a range whilst wearing the hat, at least I always remember it that way, and lumbridge range reduces that chance even further ^_^ check out this ign guide from 2003 and search for "burn" on the page. Leather boots and gloves? ESSENTIAL! Or else some kind of vambraces. Wearing jewellery to use for emergency currency that doesn't fill your inventory? Excellent. A fine wooden staff? Good for long hikes and for bashing various foes along the way, especially in the hands of a good fighter. Wooden shield? Lightweight, offers both melee and magic protection, and if you are short of space from picking up various treasures, including shields, you can just throw away your trusty wooden shield and equip another shield, easily acquiring many more wooden shields later.
The goblin mail is also used in one of the later quest (not remember the name, but it's one of the dogreshuun quest series). And you CAN wear it after drinking a special potion, that turns u into a goblin :D
Late 2017 when I returned to Osrs the Goblin Mail was selling on GE for between 300-500gp each. I literally went to populated worlds and picked them up from other players kills in lumbridge and used the money to buy every armour set including rune, all range sets including black d hide and runes for casting. I checked back again recently for the sake of it and they were around 70gp but yeah... Goblin Mail funded my return to the game. Ignorance is bliss.

Mote dont disappoint me, they gotta be on the list. (the +9 def bonus doesn't matter, dont wear it. It makes u look like noob). I start crying when people wear full bandos and plebby cape. Other item could be dragon med helm, but should still be plebby cape.

I use to sell wooden shields, black capes and chef hats in Grand Exchange, they surprisingly sold well.
