  • There are many reasons to buy a bigger motorcycle when coming to Vietnam. One of the many reasons to buy a big motorcycle or motorcycle more than 200 cc's is that you will be be able to meet many local Vietnamese people who speak English. I was invited to go on the distinguished gentleman's motorcycle ride in Hanoi Vietnam with some of my friends and it wouldn't have happened if I didn't have a big motorcycle.

Total agree! If you will have big bike you will have more friends because you need to repair it sometimes) A lot of my friends in local enduro community and they are travel a lot. Local people will ask you about your motorcycle and you will say "Hi!" to someone on similar bike in traffic jam. One problem - is A2 driver licence, you can not to convert it from yours licence and local exam all in Vietnamese, now police will not stop you, but seems in future they will. And a foreigner without a license, on the road is always "not right" in any accident. But now you can buy any illegal motorcycle (without documents, with fake numbers plate) here and ride for pleasure =)

@@MitchellMillennial too expensive and you also need resident card (+4mln), for local they asking 2.5 only. And also you can pass exam in HCMC legally .

Hello Mitchell, thank you for your bike video, not easy finding Vietnam videos with no information, just music,
I’m a keen rider considering to relocate to se Asia, hope you could answer a couple of questions. I’ve Considered work in Cambodia as it is extremely easy to set up 100% owned businesses and work permit their, by the way foreigners are not allowed to register secondhand bikes (only new) in Cambodia.
Could you tell me if a foreigner would have a lot of hassle getting a work permit and running a small business 100% foreign owned?
Also can a foreign legitimately registered a bike in his or her name?
Any “on the ground” information would be appreciated.
    Peace
    Mike

In Vietnam you will need a local to set up the business. There's no need to register a bike as you will never get asked by police. Or if you do you can just run

Good point that you make. I am debating on what type of bike to get at some point here in Saigon at least. My mate has a Winner 150cc and it neat but also keen on a XR150cc. However, I would love to get something like my old Hysuong GT250 I had in Korea (SV640 clone) here in Saigon. Where would you recommend looking for larger motorcycles if I go that route.

Find the richest 1% to make friends? No one drives bikes like these because no one is crazy enough to pay the import and luxury goods tax. You don't have to fork over $2000+ to make english speaking friends in Vietnam, this video is a joke.
