Shames a shame to have to ether that 5-ton that much and it hot outside. I ran them in winter in Kansas and Virginee and never had to ether them at all but that was in the 70's and had the old Continental multi-fuel jobs.I was cutting grass on the 4th and we finally got some rain today on the 5th. GLAD to see it. My sweetie won't have to water the garden every other day. HER garden! I'm the grass mower. Pick me a tune and God Bless Yall!

My father logged in south Alabama when I was young. He used to carry me with him just about every day before I started school. He was small time . A John Deere G with a pto winch as a slider and a 1957 Chevy 1ton with a Big Stick loader. I really enjoy your channel and videos featuring an independent logger.

I've been logging and sawmilling and trucking hauled many loads of Pope wood to weslaco at Wickliffe Kentucky it's hard work and serving the Lord Jesus it feels good to just set the saw down and set on a stump and listen to The birds sing .

Narrow ridges are no stranger to our logging operation. Greene County, Pennsylvania is nothing but ridges, steep slopes and narrow creek bottoms. There are the occasional wide fertile bottoms for pastures and crops, but those are few and far between.

I used to say red oak smells like “panther p#ss.” when you cut it, but then I realized that it just reminds me of once I mixed mortar with sand cats had been using to pee in! Had to throw out the whole batch! Me and my bricklayer both almost lost our breakfast.
When I logged which I am 84 years now and the stil saw is the best.

Hey, could you discuss more about those holes in the logs in a video? Is that caused by insects or age of the tree? Are some trees more prone to have them? In some of those big trees, its hard to believe there is rot down in the base! You have a great channel!

Does Connor work on his firewood business at all at this time of the year? Just thinking if I had a chance to make money as a kid I would have been into it whenever I could ... a simple way to financial independence. btw, I went to Europe for 3 months from Detroit, MI, as a first year college student.... all paid for with my own money. Connor has an opportunity to earn his own money and use it for himself.
He doesn’t have much time this time of year! We hit the logging pretty hard right now then start cutting some fire wood in the fall!
