IN THIS VIDEO WE PUT OUR NEWLY MOTOR SWAPPED DIAMOND RIO TO THE TEST. HOW WILL THE DT466 HOLD UP TO THE HEAVY LOAD OF LOGS?? Развлечения
Appreciate y’all wonderful folks!
REO... not Rio...UGH
It's great seeing a RUclips chainsaw operator cut trees/logs like they're supposed to be cut, not like 75%+ of the RUclipsrs that think they're the "know all, be all" for operating a saw.
Thanks for the video!
I appreciate that! Dad been cutting a long time. A lot of people give him a hard time on here for some reason. Everyone is an expert haha
Hell I can cut em with a saw or my shear but on a job like this a trac cutter not really gonna work.
Glad to see ole red hauling logs again. You guys be careful and keep up the good work. Thanks for letting us come along.
Our pleasure! Appreciate ya!
Nice to see dad still keeping up with you young guys
He’s a champ!
Can’t keep a good truck down! Nice trees. I think Connor grows a couple inches in each video.
We’ve been in the 70’s,80’s and just had two days in the 90’s but always some rain and thunderstorms here and there just about every day too !!!! Those are some good looking logs there pops except that one. Truck sounds great , now just got to work on skidder and get it up to snuff. Stay safe and stay country.
Thank ya Mr Lyle
Hard working folks. Great video.
Thanks 👍Becky!
Glad he got out of the way fellas. 😮
Yes sir!
Beautiful equipment awesome job enough said.
Appreciate ya! Thanks for the kind words!
Well worth all the work and money, great video, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Jack!
I like it! I would call it Super Red!
👍🏼
I'm glad to see yall are finally drying out and getting back at it.
Yes sir! Wish it was dry when you was here to see this
Alright!! Big Red Hoss sounds good coming out of there.
Thanks James!!
Thanks Landon just haven’t heard it called that. Logging is big where I live actually done some myself.
I guess most folks call it pulp wood or paper wood. We have just always called it weighwood lol
That’s right we call it pulpwood or chipping and poles for light poles mostly pine trees down here. Some hardwoods
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Good job, keep it up, Big bucks at times.
Ol big red already paying you guys back good deal gentlemen .be safe until the next video🙏🇺🇸✌️
Thanks 👍 Grizzly!!
Nice Video ! Hard Days in the Woods when it's Already in the upper 80's.. ❤STAY SAFE. GOD BLESS. That Diesel Seems to Move..Or is it The MUSCLE behind the Wheel..😂
You got that right! May be a little of both Elaine 🤣
I would break my back buy a brand new chainsaw would $50 a bar and chain just to go to work down there and have a piece of mind awesome job. 💯
We sure enjoyed those few cools days up there, we are already in low 90's here.😳
Good grief that’s crazy lol
@@BackwoodsTN yes it is hot already 😭
Great video New Brunswick Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks for coming Jamie!
I have a 240a grapple skidder and a 525c and they both have their place
Yes we enjoy ours!
Wow... that first tree really kicked out! Guess that's why loggers dropping big trees in B.C. west coast really run after the tree starts falling... it's the potential kick back.
Yea hard to tell what it’s going to do!
They call that bucking
@@Tatoebot Really? I thought the term "bucking" refers to the procedure that happens after the tree is felled and de-limbed. (Bucking the trunk to length for milling.)
@@mrMacGoover it does but depends on where you from it has multiple meanings
If ya cut a Humboldt the but will hit before the top therefore I believe it being less jumpy
Got that video too, tank's again, try this husky 372xp full house 92 driver chain saw, don't break your fn back with that fn thing, yes it's takes half pint of fuel too make just a back cut....
Don't forget tunes ,nomyn vision
Thanks for the comment! Appreciated your comment
Tell Tommy I still have that one winch if he can get it to work
Will do ole buddy!
On the deeres when our cable gets hard to pull off you can speed the engine up a little and it will freewheel easier, til you get it fixed. The gearmatics may be different though idk...
We will try that Brad. Sure will work a fellar to death when it ain’t pulling right!
Yep it should. Long before I became tiebuyer work for a man had a 240 jack and we do that to it and it worked. Hopefully it will for yall.
Another very interesting video Thank you
Thats good work right there. Subscribed.
nice day on the job, good logs
Yes, thanks!!
Heh guys. Thanks for letting me tag along. Yall are hard workin men.
To me, this looks like a felling operation waiting for an accident to happen: zero protective gear - no chainsaw pants, no hard hat, trees cut so they rotate off the stump because there is no holding wood, thumb on the saw handle in a position where a kick-back will either break the thumb or cause the whole saw to kick back. Nice old trucks, though, and nice old line skidder. But, please don't get hurt.
I reckon they are hiring at OSHA Michael! Appreciate the comment!
By god u leave us tennesseens alone we cut the logs to save the butt log not Pull fiber and tear it all crap, We got common sense to get away from the trees when they fall unlike u softwood loggers 🤷♂️
Love it, wish I could come work with you guys.
Hey major change! Long time no see! Great to see ya
There ain't nothing worse then a winch that won't freespool. End up using all your energy pulling on the winch cable.
Yea it about ran me ragged this week haha
I may be mistaken but the engine in ole red is not a dt466 but a dt360. The valve cover is the quickest way to tell them apart
You put a 210 HP 466 international is big red, right Lots of power not much speed on the highway? Need an auxillary .
At about the 7 minute mark... crap! I log with horses and the only way I get sticks out of a hole like that is buck them up into 8 footers and I have a 90 ft cable and snatch blocks. Brutal work for the horses and man but no way to get them in or out of a hole safely...have to keep them up on the skidding trail. I only log in the wintertime, too many bugs and too hard a pullin' on the dirt.
Great skidder and a damn good truck!! Are u contracted to cut timber state or private???
We mostly cut private all the time
Put a John Deere winch on it, new skidder would be nice though
We’ve been thinking about doing that!
Love it
Yes!
Landon explain what way wood and pallet wood is thanks Mickey
Weigh wood is sold by weight and made primarily into paper. Pallet wood is made into board and runners to make various sizes of pallets!
Can ye at least get a red rattle can for the red truck doors?
We need to haha 😂
Go over and ask Bobby for his smallest skidder, and move up in size, Bobby s small skidder I’d bigger than your, thanks BigAl California.
Only bad thing about a big skidder is you got have a great big road to run them on. Mountain logging ain’t the best for big sliders sometimes
What saw is he running?
Stihl 500 I
what the heck is waywood:?or weigh wood for
Same thing as pulp wood or paper wood ole buddy
What part of Tennessee are you in?
Overton County!
@BackwoodsTN I am in warren county
No safety gear ?guess the ball cap is enough .
Yea we lose sleep over comments like these every night brother!
Absolutely!
Only one tree why not a full brag?
How old is Connor 13 still
He’s 14 now
No safety clothes at all!?...is not this for real?
I heard OSHA is taking applications so!
You're cutting your hinge off...the hinge is most important. Cutting above does nothing to stop it kicking back...that's the hinges job, it holds the tree in place.
Thanks for the advice
Looked to me like he would cut the hinge after the tree was committed to a direction already. Helps to stop pulling fibers out of the center of the logs. Don’t know how they grade them down there, but up north it’s a good way to ruin a veneer log.
Nice load of logs on both trucks big red is a pulling machine now, tell your dad to use a Humboldt face cut and the tree will slide off the stump instead of jumping and he want have to trim the butt's
Thanks Hickory!
You Boys are working Hard enjoy it as long as you can
