You can get one from Astro but it's 3/8 drive but they're 3/8 set goes all the way up to 24 mm. The pass through rent is extra long handle too so plenty of leverage. These are the same sockets made by Astro and also sold at Home Depot under the Husky brand
Yeah I gotta agree, most cars are using metric these days and the SAE sizes offered are fine. I have little need for an 11/32” socket in 1/2” drive or whatever, I’d just opt for 3/8” drive at that point. $30 for 11 low pro impacts with lifetime warranty and foam case is a great deal. Besides, your beef is with Astro Pneumatic Tools since they were the designers of this set, part number 78211.. Harbor Freight just got the same factory to rebrand the sockets 😂
@@hallowedbethygame2840 thanks for chiming in. Yea was a small gripe however a couple more larger sizes would have been nice. Yea likely the same manufacturer in Taiwan for Astro three together this set as well. I would like to see a HF dedicated wrench though.
I’ve been a diesel heavy and light duty the past 8 years and i can’t remember needing a standard 32” sized socket a single time. And I’ve only used my 3/8 for sheet metal screws and that’s about it. (In my diesel field) In my opinion if you need something smaller than a 3/8” socket you need to bump down to 1/4” drive. And yes 100% you can get all the 32” sizes in 1/4” drive. Pretty sure aviation uses all sorts of those weird sizes in 1/4” drive.
Thanks for commenting. The 32” sizing is not common but if you are working on older equipment (pre 80’s) then they do pop up every once in a while. I however would have liked them to include several additional larger sockets instead. Again a small gripe.
Yea I have several tools as well and they have been pretty decent as well. I hate the coupon game as well as “the guess which factory we just swapped to because quality just dropped but prices stayed the same” game.
I wonder why they made these impact and not regular chrome sockets? Impact sockets depend on the mass of the socket to do the work while these seem like they were made with the intention to be used on a ratcheting box end wrench and a standard ratchet. Also I think these are a rebrand from existing products from Astro pneumatic so they likely just use the same size range as those and that’s why they are short 4 sizes on the SAE.
I honestly think they are trying to appeal to as many perks as they can. Although these are impacts they did do a good job trying to keep them slim like chrome sockets. Yes that’s less mass but if you’re a stubby you probably aren’t looking for that anyways. Thanks for commenting!
Yes all of those larger sizes would be acceptable substitutions. Still a good set regardless. Thanks for commenting. Please consider subscribing and sticking around. 👍🏻
The pittburg pass through socket set doesn't fit them from my research, I have the quinn metric set for my compact impact, but I haven't found a good ratcheting wrench that locks on to them yet. I would like to know what other people have found to use them with, preferably for me a flex head that will lock on to them!
I also hope that quinn comes out with a flex head ratchet for these to be used as pass through sockets or maybe just a pass through socket set that fits these as well!
Yea I took a look and the Pittsburgh might be closer to 17mm. I would agree that a dedicated wrench for this socket lineup would be very beneficial. Others have commented that other manufacturers (possibly sunex) might have a dedicated ratchet. Thanks for commenting. Please stick around and subscribe 👍🏻
They actually look very similar to my 3/8”Capri set. Quality is really good. I have no complaints. You should grab a set as the price is the most competitive. Thanks again for sharing. Please consider liking and subscribing 👍🏻
@@timweb1510 it’s done well so far. I mean it’s a 1/4 drive so it doesn’t see as much stress as the larger ratchets. They all have held up good thus far.
Great question. Although they are mostly phased out by now but machinery like Delta or older classic cars up through the 60’s would use them. Willys is famous for that. Older farm and tractor equipment they are common as well. Now if I could choose between the 32” or larger 1”+ sockets I would pick larger as those are more common for all of us. Thank you for commenting. Please consider subscribing and asking more great questions. 👍🏻
I bought a set of sockets 9 of them in 1/2 drive that were all stamped only in 32nds had a pass thru rachet and a square extension ,he had retired from an auto dealership in early 60s I bought them because they were unique
Gonna have to agree and disagree with you. In yiur complaints in the beginning on the video. You complain about there not being 32's sizes, there being less sae sockets than metric sockets, and that it doesnt go below 3/8 or above 1 in. The first thing ill point out is the set is 1/2 in drive, and while they do exisf it oretty difficult to find 1/2 drive sets that go below 3/8 or have 32's sizes, let alone both. You tyoically only find that in 1/4 and 3/8 in drive sets, mostly 1/4 drive sets for the 32"s sizes. I under you would like to see it go above 1 in size, but realistically stuff above 1 inch isnt all that common, yes it does pop up but not often. Which leads me into the comolaint about the uneven amount a sockets between metric and sae. If you look up 24 mm to inch you'll find its actually a little smaller. So the two sets are sticking to similar size ranges, not similar socket count, which is whst most sets do as there is almost always less sae sizes for a given size range than there are metric sizes (unless you go into 32's sizes but that is usually smaller stuff and metric starts doing half sizes so it evens out). You also mentioned how most of the quinn stuff was chinese made. Im not sure what tooks you are referring to or where you got your info, but i have had many sources tell me the quinn sockets and ratchets etc are all Taiwanese made, possibly even frim the same factory as tekton which is known tk be a good brand. If you are referring to all auinn tools and not just socket sets, then i cant comment as i havent dine the research yet on the other tools they make (srarted research on their digitial calipers but no word yet on the ciubtry if origin) These are a decent tool, and i understand you wanting to have more sizes, i wouldnt mind the metric going up to 32 and sae up to 1 & 1/2 or something (like their regular socket set). However, i understand why they didnt (not needed often), and the other mentioned conplaints are kinda just silly or nit picky. I wouldnt be surprised if and hope that they are planning to come out with a smaller drive version that adds in the smaller sizes. But time will tell
Appreciate the thorough post. As you pointed out I’m just being nit picky. I realize that most sae sets have less sockets naturally but it would have been nice to see a couple additional sizes. I’m with you on the Quinn sockets however their ratchets, pliers and other tools are a mix. If you haven’t done so already please consider subscribing and continuing to comment. 👍🏻
Quinn should make a 22mm comfort grip pass through ratchet to accommodate these sockets.
Agreed 👍🏻

Not always. 😉

Cause it is more precise metric than imperial just for it.
@@ranchosandoval5871 what’s more precise?
I got the gear wrench and a paper towel hack works wonders to keep the socket in. The wrenches that hold them in are sold out and hard to come by.
