I got the same two , when I cook hamburgers on ether one . I put down a paper towel to set it on. That's the way I would eat it 🙂 Meats on the grill and pancakes and eggs on the dash griddle. Seems to be a good way to go 😊
Definitely not overcook. When you cut it with a fork, my thought was wow that cut really easy and it’s so juicy. I’m gonna pull my grill out and make me some burgers. Thank you.
It would've been nice to see the bottom. Maybe there was less shrinkage with the grill, because the grill holds it in place better. And also more aluminum is used consuming more energy. I have the griddle myself, and I love it for single eggs and sausage McMuffins.
I actually have both, i love the grill more for the different variety burgers, paninis, quesadillas, etc. I love the griddle for wider use and pancakes.
*I have one of these mini grills, which I bought about six months ago. It is as clean today as it was when I unboxed it, and I have never had to clean it one single time! And here's my secret!* *I use it solely for hamburgers, and before I start cooking on it, here is what I do: I take two squares of aluminum foil, one for the bottom and one for the top, and I put them on the grill!* *One at a time I press them down everywhere on the grill so they conform themselves to the shape of the grill, I spray each one with a quick shot of cooking spray and set them aside!* *I brown my hamburger buns, then I put the lower piece of aluminum foil on the bottom grill, I put on my hamburger patty, then I lay the upper aluminum foil on top and close the lid!* *I bend the lower piece of aluminum foil to form a trough so the grease drips into a tiny disposable container. I place something about 1 inch high underneath the rear feet of the grill.* *So the grill is tilted and the grease will run into the container. Then I cook the hamburger patty for 10 minutes exactly. When I am done cooking the burger, the grill is still perfectly clean!*
Awesome! I will be doing this to keep it clean, especially cooking meat. The chaffles don't mess up the surface much, or the "fried" cheese that I do in my wafflemaker. The meat would, so the foil and the raised back side would help a lot! Thank you so, so much!!
@@hol99-vw6ue Yes but, the parchment paper probably would not conform to the shape of the indentations in the grill. The aluminum foil retains its shape after you press it into the grooves. Plus the aluminum foil retains its shape when you form it into a trough to drain the grease.
I’m so blown away by these, how good they are and affordable . I went with the griddle bc it’s more versatile and don’t eat meat very often. i plan on getting the rice cooker as well.
It was really good to see the comparison. Thank you. I tend to use my little waffle maker more than either the grill or the griddle. The griddle though it’s fun to use with those popcanned rolls as it gets more of the center cooked all the way and then you split it for like a sandwich. The small street taco size tortillas are great in the griddle.
I am so grateful to you for your comments on well done food. I too like all my food well done and my people say I am maniacal because of complaining that to people these days well done means burnt, and that is because of only one reason; they don't know how to cook! It is a lost art.
Thanks. It's all about the timing. After one or two burger cooks, you'll get it done to your satisfaction. I like the grill as it doesn't cook the meat in its fat.

The grill I only really use if I want the darker marks, or if I just need another surface. I agree w/ you and use my griddle WAY more! Great for mini quesadillas, korean scallion pancakes to dip in a soy sauce, toasted sesame oil & riuce wine vinegar sauce... yum!
I haven’t got myself the grill because (as you said) it’s not as versatile. I like the griddle for little pizzas and quesadillas. I also have the egg bite maker which I sometimes use as a griddle, but it doesn’t get quite as hot so things take a littler longer to cook.

This is related ..... I noticed a while back that my medium sized ( two burger ) George Forman Grill seemed to be especially made to make boneless pork chops ( slightly thick cut ) & did them perfectly , no drying out of the meat , nice , tender , & juicy ( that is if not overcooked , pork isn't as forgiving as ground beef ) ..... My question to you my dear , I wonder just how it ( a slightly thick boneless pork chop )would fare being cooked in a Dash Mini Grill which by design is somewhat similar to the George Forman Grill Concept ..... 🐷🐖🐖🥩🥩🥩😋😋 Thanks for your videos , I do enjoy them , even the fails 😅 Somebody has to be the test pilot & sometimes the crash dummy , it's all good , entertaining & even funny along with learning new ways of doing things ...Thanks for sharing your videos with us .....👍👍🖐🖐
I bought the 3 pack on Amazon (grill, griddle and waffle maker) about a month ago. Haven't used the grill, yet. But, I'm looking forward to it. I use the griddle and waffle maker regularly! Love them!

The griddle looks easier to clean. I wonder if the griddle cooks a little faster cus the meat is in better contact with the hot surface. I'm looking at these as travel appliances.

I agree. The mini George Forman is just a tiny bit bigger but more capable. If your comment does not go towards the purpose of this video she needs to explain.
The griddle has more versatility and is easier to clean. Grilling involves drippings that drop into the grill and vaporize/ smoke and add to the overall flavor. Grill marks do not equal grilled food. I'm not trying to gate keep, just trying to save you the hassle of bringing two different devices that yeild the same product.

Yes they run on electricity. They are 300 watts. They need to be plugged in. I use mine and I live in a van. They take much less power than most other kitchen appliances. Example; a toaster oven is usually at least 1000 watts.
Yes, you can use them anywhere there is a power outlet. If you use them outside, obviously you don't want to use them in the rain or somewhere wet since they are electric.
Since they both started out as 4 oz hamburger patties to tell if one rendered more fat than the other you could have weighed them before you ate them just for demonstration purposes.
I live in UK 🇬🇧 Usually, I can find things available in USA 🇺🇸 on Amazon UK, but these little DASH cookers are £20-£30 each 🤑 I can get some cheaper alternatives, but comparisons have shown DASH are better. Sigh 😢 I can only afford to get one at that price. I like the grill, but I'm not sure if I can make a fried egg on it ... Have you tried it?
I don’t want them pink inside at all. They messed with them and added fat and I had a bunch of stuff in the butcher. It is not like a steak add ground meat, ground sausage ground anything is different. Do you wanna cook it.

The Dash waffle maker cooks hamburgers more evenly for those that like their bugers without pink spots.

I haven't found that any grease gets inside them. There's plenty of grease on the griddle surface though.

The flat surface griddle is easy to clean (once it’s cooled down). I have had one for a couple of years. Great for traveling.
