- Frozen burgers isn't bad to use when in a pinch, but some are better than others, and I tested all the 80/20 styles (yes, there's more options, but I wanted to test the 80/20 variations). Enjoy.

Best frozen burgers I've had, Costco sirloin burgers. Great flavor, they don't shrink as much and don't cup as much as some of the others I've cooked up. My VFW Post used to do a burger and hot dog booth at our local Lumber Jubilee. I cooked and sold over 1200 burgers and 600 dogs in 2 days.
Boy that's a lot of burgers and dogs!!!
Agreed
Costco is the way
Ik. I wish he tried costco burgers
Hell yes! Costco burgers sirloin or the angus.
I use the frozen patties on my george forman grill. Works perfect
sounds like someone needs a friend
I was rooting for Bubba 😂. Good to know which are better at Walmart. I don’t usually buy frozen ones. Great job Hussey. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you Robert!
You always got to root for Bubba weathered is a burger or not.
Here's the thing. For the same price (it's actually a little bit cheaper) you could make double burgers using the Walmart bag version as opposed to a single Bubba Burger and the Walmart burger would taste almost the same with a lot more burger.
Six 1/3lbs Bubbas are $14 at my walmart while twelve 1/4lbs Great Value burgers cost $13. If this review claims that they are super close in taste, then it's almost a no-brainer to get the Great Value burgers because you could be having 1/2lbs burgers for the price of 1/3lbs burgers.
I'd normally agree with quality over quantity, but I also think Walmart is able to bring equal quality due to their sheer size while keeping costs down over a much smaller company like Bubba so the argument of Bubba being higher quality is pretty much non-existent.
Bubba's are the worst I've ever bought!!🤢🤮🤢
Shoot Bubba burgers better be the best tasting they are the most expensive to at $24 a box.
Today or tomorrow I will be trying the Shaq frozen patties. And for the size of them they are bigger then bubba but bigger isn’t always better. But we shall see tomorrow. If they aren’t that great then I will have to finally try bubba patties. I’ve heard nothing but great things about bubbas patties. So I’m gonna have to just try them out. Saving best for last I hope lol 😂
Bubba burgers are in the shape of Texas!!!
nope
should have done a blind taste test! PART 2!!!
much love!
Yeah, should have probably.
The dog is really givin you the stink eye under the table for not giving him a sample.
I noticed that, too.
She got to try it too… 😂
I love both fresh or frozen and for the frozen variety I absolutely love the Bradshaw ranch thick and juicy frozen burgers. A coworker of mine a few years back worked at a grocery store and she was the one that got me hooked on this brand of burgers back then they were just called thick and juicy but now they are Bradshaw ranch thick and juicy and I've had frozen burgers in the past and these guys knock it out of the ball park for being a great frozen burger. Also the Bradshaw ranch frozen burgers are made with angus meat
I have not been disappointed any time I purchased bubba's burgers.
I buy frozen Bubba burgers for quick and easy meals. They’re great when I don’t have time for fresh ground beef patties. The fact that they’re 1/3 pound ensures they don’t dry out on the grill the way 1/4 pound burgers do. You chose the right one! 👍🏾
you must not care about your health,,,,
@@lexcan05Is this what you do, troll meat videos making health comments? If you think these are so bad why are you here? 🤷🏻♂️🤡
@@lexcan05We all gonna go someway, why not death by burger?
Sorry, I'm sure ya'll were waiting for this, but I hope you gave that sweet pup a bite. LOL
Oh she got hers for sure!
When I have a large party at my house, I use frozen burger patties. It makes the cooking turnaround time a lot quicker. It's nice to know that I have not profaned my Blackstone Griddle or the whole Blackstone community by using these 😆
Haha.. Not at all buddy, not at all!
Marketside frozen burgers have a burger with Vidalia onion nice flavor and a different one called Bradshaw Ranch with cheddar cheese garlic and butter awesome flavor but these were 6 frozen burgers instead of 8 burgers all 👍
These are awesome for summer cookouts😋
Tried That onion one. straight terrible 😅
Yes they are not bad at all unless your tastebuds are burnt off
If I ever made frozen burgers, my mother would rise from her grave and come hit me on the back of the head with her spatula lol. Always made them fresh.
Agreed! It’s just so easy to buy fresh ground beef and make them yourself!
Or for the ultimate burger, I recommend grinding up chuck roast yourself. It’s truly the best hamburger I’ve ever made.
I make my burgers 80/20 put in all the spices: onion powder, garlic powder, italian herbs, mustard, ketchup and bbq sauce with planko. Make the patties, freeze them with parchment paper between them. Easy and quick to grab to throw in the air fryer or grill. Yummy! I agree though with Bubba burgers such as when we do a 40 people coming over bbq!
Thanks for your homemade burger idea❤❤❤
There is no such thing other than homemade burgers. I Hate frozen. And I also pre make patties and freeze for later. Salt and pepper and chopped onions mixed in the meat
It tastes amazing! I also buy my Hamburg on sale and freeze it in the right quantity for usage. Thos way I can use it according. YW for the idea. @@antoinettebrown8517
You forgot the dried Badia onions. I soak them in the BBQ sauce !!!!! Kids make your own! And do NOT make it with ketchup! !!!!!!!!! you will never ever buy it again.
Sounds great to me!
Another great video. We've had the Bubba and Great Value and both are good but we prefer the cheap Great Value.
GV, for the price cannot be beat!
Great value great taste
My pastor used to make up a bbq rub he called “Heifer Dust”. He learned the mix from an old bbq man he worked for back in the ‘50’s in Ft.Worth. This is the first time I’ve heard this term used in many years.
Considering most of these BBQ rubs are made from the same ingredients: garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, sugar and a bit of cayenne [don’t take my word for it, look up the ingredients for Heifer Dust and just about every BBQ rub out there], I always just make my own. I honestly don’t know why people prefer to pay $6-9 for a small container of these rubs when you can literally make your own for about 25 cents if you buy the ingredients in bulk.
I recently found out the bag of burgers you can get at Aldi are pretty damned good.
You beat me to it- I love them, and they're currently on sale for under $10. for 3 pounds.
I have to disagree. They’re terrible. My son won’t eat them & he eats anything. As well as Aldi angus burgers in box. No one would touch them
@@jesselliott604it's almost like people can have different opinions.
@@astuteandyit’s almost like you can’t comprehend the reason they commented.
@@deander7653 I can, I just think it's funny that someone who thinks they're bad would even consider that someone who likes them would give two shits if anyone else likes them.
i just cooked some of the great value patties this weekend. They were great for the price, they shrunk quiet a bit. The members mark sirloin burgers are my favorite from sams.
Thinking about trying the Members Mark and Costco brands too!
I've had the Bubba ones, and thought they were pretty good. They're handy to have on hand👍😊
In a pinch, it's not bad at all.
Love your videos. Things have changed so much in your videos over the years. Now I have to go get Bubba's and put them in the freezer. I always think of having a burger but all the beef is frozen in packages and can't unthaw in time. I bought Duke's mayo after watching your videos but can't open it yet until my regular mayo is gone. I can't wait. I also bought a Blackstone griddle a few years ago after watching your videos and it is fantastic. I still keep a charcoal grill for that special taste once in a while. Thanks for your great videos.
Hey Richard! Hopefully change is a good thing and not bad. I feel I've come a long ways personally from the old days, as far as camera presence an such.
Enjoy the Duke's mayo when you get to it and the Bubba or Great Value burgers too!
bubba burgers look like the burgers Id order for the few restaurants I ran. They are a "homestyle" shape. As soon as you showed them I knew theyd be the winner. I did many burger tastings with sales reps. It all starts with the quality of beef they use. I bet bubba uses 1/3 and 2/3s choice trimmings and the rest use select trimmings.
Bubba for the WIN!! Not a big fan of frozen burgers, but I'll have to give them Bubba burgers a try!
Ole Bubba isn't bad at all brother! Thanks Butch for watching!
You won’t be sorry! They are excellent and I am not a fan of frozen burgers. Get the ones with onion.
I love this review. You could do a follow-up on how these burgers (thawed) make a smash burger. I would love that!
When i use frozen patties, i season one side of 2 patties with cajun 2 step and salt, put the seasoned sides together, then smash them down to 1 burger. The seasoning cooks through to the outside while you cook it. Sometimes i use tiger sauce on them on the grill like you would use barbecue sauce. You just have to coat it with tiger sauce a couple of times since it isn't as thick as barbecue sauce. Its a really good flavor on a burger
I hear that!!! Sounds great Joe!
Please try the kroger brand "private selection - applewood smoked bacon & cheddar" best ive had
I love the Angus Bubba Burgers and Wegman’s Angus Burgers👍😋
I get some at the beginning of every summer. I love making great burgers on the grill. But, sometimes you didn't prepare ahead. Bubba is my favorite. But, the generics from Walmart or Aldis are really good. Find one you like. Great in a pinch.
Aldi, haven't thought about them!
I had bubba burgers a long time ago and remember they were seasoned nice and came out great. I might have to buy them again
Have tried them all myself. Bubba is the family favorite for quick burgers and hot dogs.
Wait. There's hot dogs too?
@@thehungryhussey haha. no son, just that they like dogs too.
Bubba always win at a cookout
I buy fresh ground beef in bulk at BJs, make 1/3 lb patties, wrap, and freeze in portions that fit my family. It takes a bit of time, but it's worth it to me. I do appreciate Bubba burgers when they go on sale :)
Perfect timing I was just thinking about buying frozen burgers. I have. Brother can’t stand them this video has provided perfect results for me coming from you thank you
I think you should had some cheer-wine with those burgers. Awesome vid Hussey
Haha... I know right. Been doing more water, but funny thing is, I ran of out Cheerwine downstairs and didn't feel like going upstairs.
I love the members mark from Sam’s
They say they're great! I'll have to check those out.
We buy the great value. They are pretty decent. Of course I prefer fresh ground chuck or brisket trim but for a quick easy meal, frozen are a win at our house.
Totally agree! Whatever can make life a little easier!!!
Bubba is usually my goto burger...they have a burger with cheese infused...its REALLY good
Now we doing groceries in my price bracket. 😂😂😂
The price of those Bubba burgers... Shesh... They like them things!
We always use Bubba Burgers, they are consistently a perfect burger. Easy to time, by the look alone, they remind me of glazed donut's surface when they need to be flipped! Taste Perfection! Best burgers out there!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Lol the ole puppy loves burger testing day!!!
I remember the 1st time I had a bubba burger 20 yrs ago, best/cheap frozen Pattie out, soooo good I’ve been out and ordered a gourmet burger “SOB it’s a got dang bubba burger lol…
They not cheap anymore. They proud of those suckers. lol.
As much as I like Bubba's black angus patties (they used to have a grass-fed variety, but I haven't seen them lately - might be discontinued), they're awfully pricey. The Great Value patties in the red bag aren't bad at all.
Those GVs, for the money, ain’t bad at all. You’re 💯 correct
May have to try the Marketside burgers sometime, I love the Marketside sausages
The Marketside isn't bad at all.
We've had the Great Value many times. I tried the Marketside last time. They were hard to get apart. Wife actually broke the glass stove top with them. I'm going to try the Bubba Burgers next.😊
Fresh is always the best but thx for the info.
"Got into some Cold-Water"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
(...so subtle and quick, PERFECT!!!)
I think you’re the only one who picked up on that.
Thank You, been wondering about frozen burgers
Hello Cousin Hussey from Gatlinburg! I try to have a burger once a week with Pepper jack cheese..yum! 🍔🍔
Thanks Cuz!!! Appreciate it! I love some pepper jack too!
@@thehungryhussey yes sir!! With Duke's Mayo too *just a tad* lol
Gotta throw sams club burgers on there. They got the best
Another test for sure!
To get a good review, you must share those burgers with all of us
Let's do it!
Once I discovered Bubba Burger(Angus), I stopped shopping around. I get them at Target for about $15.
Perfect buger IMO.
More expensive but better tasting and consistent and that shape is an absolute winner.
Single household, you gotta go frozen.
Howdy All Can I Just Say That One Finds That @The Hungry Hussey is indeed the stuff of youtube Legends ladies and gentlemen 😂. His content Is exceedingly epic and that's they way I like it 😂. I'd love to do a cooking collab with him one day.
Appreciate the kind words!!! Means a lot! Let’s do some cooking!
@@thehungryhussey your welcome sir. Sure indeed one day sir I shall let you know when
Man I miss bigtop frozen burgers. Bubba is my go to
Sam's Club - Chop House and Member's Mark brands. I like them better than Bubba and Great Value. However, I try to keep the cheaper (GV) around for dinners other than burgers (smothered patties for one)
Thanks! Plan on doing some others too!
First time watcher you must be from the great state of NC cause I see a Bright Leaf hotdog sign behind ya the best hotdogs ever in my opinion
I'm friends with those guys, but Bright Leafs aren't everywhere in my area. My area is more Curtis and Jesse Jones for red dogs.
Ive always used frozen pattys an smoked them. They come out so damn good!
I didn't realize Bubba was that much more expensive than the others. I have to admit that I've used burgers from Walmart that come in a sausage shaped roll are pretty good.
Ive always wondered, does it make a difference to thaw frozen burgers vs cooking them frozen?
Good point!
Great review Matt, this was epic😂. Bubba Burger on my Walmart list lol. Cheers my friend
Thanks ole buddy!
You should try Makers Marks
I usually do a grind of brisket, chuck, and short rib for my burgers. My sister in law invited us over for a cookout and it was Bubba's burgers.
I stopped inviting her over to cookouts. 😅
Haha... Give sis another try man.
Haha.
Glad they made this hybrid. Been thinking the exact thing since day one Sevrs came on the market.
Alrighty then... Not sure what this means, but thanks for stopping by
@@thehungryhussey Sorry make a comment on the wrong video. Damn fat fingers of mine. My apologies. Burgers looked good though. Bubba burgers are my go to when camping. Thanks
I do my own. Garlic salt and ketchup to season before squishing. They are AWESOME!!!
The Great Value 80/20 are good!
Try the Sam's Choice bacon cheddar burgers also at Walmart. They are better than many of the restaurant gourmet burgers we've had.
Sounds great!
Great video, do more of these to change it up!
For sure!
Kroger frozen patties are pretty dam good as well. You should try them out if you have a Kroger nearby.
Bubba burgers are good , but you just can't knock the value and taste of the " bag o patty's " Great value burgers. I've been using those for years when I need to make a quick last-minute meal for the family.
Nope, sure cannot. AND Bubba got a chip on his shoulder with them prices.
Matthew ,,, all those burgers look good . I would eat any one of them. THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.......
Thanks Frank!!! Good to see you pal! Been a while. Hope all is well in Montana!
Can you do precooked patties next?
Hello, my friend happy Sunday, you and the family.
Thanks Gene!
Hussley!!
Those burgers looked mouthwatering!!
Did Maggie get any of that cooked meat?
Also, don’t use water to cleanse your palate!! You should be using diet Cheerwine!!
Cool story... I didn't have any more Cheewine downstairs and I didn't want to hike upstairs again. Haha. Lazy... so Lazy. Jacob said "just use water"
Bubba are best cooked over a flame, not on a griddle. They are my go-to burgers for a normal bbq. If I want to impress, I get wagyu steak burgers
Bacon cheddar from Sam’s club 👍
Great video. I subscribed...thanks
Thanks for stopping by and the sub!
Bubba Burgers are all beef and no fillers or preservatives
@@heavyg3634 you're 100% right. I must've been looking at one of the house brands that copies the look of the box of bubba burgers or something. I got rid of it so I'm not putting bad information out there. I appreciate you correcting me.
Thanks I bought the Philly recently for my son ooops next I’m sending the Bubba 😂👍🏻
Sam’s clubs old Chop house brisket burgers are the only frozen burgers I’ve ever enjoyed. I wish they would get them back
Bubba burgers are the best. I have beeb eating them for years.
I even have them in place of a small steak! Yummy 😊
Did the taste or texture change at all in your opinion as they cooled off while you were filming and taste testing?
They do seem to dry out more in my opinion. Maggie girl loved it though.
Frozen burgers come out pretty good, we get what is known as a cloud burger from where I work
For in a pinch to get stuff on the table in a hurry, not bad at all!
We have a country store that makes a burger called the “Bubba burger”. 🍔 It is certainly one of the best burgers I’ve eaten.
That's cool!
Target has some good burgers that are already seasoned😋😋😋
Thanks for doing the research for us. Good video 👍
You bet
Great value burger if no freezer burn slaps but the Flanders burgers in orange box is best
Slap em on a flat top and peppers onions and cheese and kraut with mustard
Sounds good!
Understand...there is just one of me. So...I could buy chubs or flat-packs of burger and pat out my own burgers as well as cooking with ground beef. But for the last two years or so I've just been buying a bag of the 80/20 Great Value patties. If I want a quick burger I yank one outta the freezer and pan fry it up. If I want some chill beans n burger, just grab two and brown 'em up and crumble them.
Nothing wrong with that buddy!
Not too many reviews on the marketside patties. The brand's wagyu ribeye is bomb.
What brand of cheese did you use?
I like Kraft Deluxe American.
The Bubba burgers are shaped like that so they don't look like preformed burgers. When I was in restaurants we used something similar, Cardinal Roadhouse burgers.
Huh, so it's different. I've never used Bubba Burgers before so I thought it was strange.
Try the costco ones.
Soon my friend!
Most of the burgers come from the same place and are the same. I use to lead at a meat plant. We just stopped the line and switched boxes.
We like the 85/15 burgers from Aldi.
Foodlion brand is also a great frozen choice 😊
Thanks Rodney!
last time i had a frozen burger was4 years ago on the fourth. The host made them and I went out side and pucked it up
Good test. Thanks for doing the work and sharing.
We grill Bubba Burgers every now and then. MUCH better when cooked on a grill with a grate compared to being cooked on a cooktop or in a pan
Been using Bubba for a few years and they make a good tasting Burger.
I'm a believer now too! Love the convenience of it. Thanks so much for watching!
Would have been interesting if you covered the ingredients list on each. One thing I do know is that Bubba is only beef, no additives.
They all just said Beef.
Not gonna lie I love the bloopers lol keep it up "Hungry"
Thanks my friend! I enjoy them too. Seeing my dumb self.
I like the nolan ryan frozen sold at krogers
Being a Sam’s Club member, I tried the Sam’s frozen patties that are packed the same as the brown bag Walmart patties. They actually turned out to be pretty good! The only downside is none of these taste good when you reheat them as leftovers.
Interesting fact about the warm up. I'll keep that in mind.
That comes with them being frozen in the beginning.
That's my rankings too. For frozen I prefer Bubba but funds are tight so I get the Great Value. I couldn't hear Jacob's rankings. Also the cost differences?
The GV was the cheapest and the Bubba was more expensive.
Great info.Thanks.
