Welcome to our Country 🇿🇦 Tommo. From Gqeberha aka Port Elizabeth. We are making our way to Cape Town for my son's school Derby Rugby and Music concert. We will be on the road back for the race. Hope you enjoying everything.
Bruno Famin was the CEO of the Renault F1 engine department before he became the team principal. They also have the worst engine so he is the past management and I dont understand who he is trying to blame here.
I guess it's risky plays they took on the chassis / crash structure that have left them with an overweight car.
But the PU is still sub par.
I remember the 2010 Chinese GP. The rain came and the madness happened. Button with his 1st win at mclearn

6:42 I think the Mercedes is still fairly quicker, especially in race trim. Russell started 4 places behind Alonso in Japan but finished within a second of him, with bad strategy, losing a place at the start, being stuck behind Piastri, and Alonso having a really strong race himself

Brrrake f1 or whatever it's called did a good video on the 2026 regs. Basically, they're not adding enough battery capacity for how much fuel they're taking away. The math doesn't work out for the pure energy needed to put in the lap times the cars currently do. Even if you assume 100% efficient regen braking I don't think it closes.

I think for similar reasons to Fernando, Sainz could find a move to Aston Martin appealing long term. He’d even get to race alongside his hero for a time. However Stroll being in that seat makes that move difficult at best/realistically very unlikely. I hate to be harsh but I think that Stroll being in the seat is hindering AM from being able to attract an actual strong driver to pair Alonso now to challenge in the manufacturers championship, and will continue to hinder them in any future silly season opportunities.
First thing I noticed was the mic with Tommo brand colours. Very nice.
36:53 If you don't see Zhou-Hulk happening, but Hulk is pretty much set for that seat next year, doesn't that mean Zhou is already out of the equation for staying at Sauber? Sainz-Zhou isn't happening anyway since it's already an open secret Hulk is going to Sauber.
I mean maybe. There's so many different ways it could go. Maybe they're looking at Yuki, or Esteban, or Albon too? That's a really tough pairing to call.
@@TommoOnRUclips Audi are almost considering a third of the whole grid, which indicates Zhou and Bottas are pretty much gone unless they really fail to attract more than one driver. And Bottas appears to be the more likely one to stay in that case anyway.

As far as predictions go. I don't think the sprint race will go through. I think there will be a safety issue due to the rain and the new tarmac.
As for the race. Max , Charles, Checo. I think we are going to see a lot of this combination in the coming races.
Let's hope Zhou stays on track and doesn't do a Checo , Mexico 2023.

Best Sprint change is that Parc Fermé is after the Sprint Race. So it's like a more interesting practice now, I think. I hope we'll see a bigger difference between the Sprint and the real Race this year.

Hear Steiner is in the market to buy a controlling interest in to a F1 team, the only team I think that may have a for sale sign up is VCARB according to Marko but then Marko is lucky to remember what day it is.
Tommo predicting Checo as a race winner because why not lol. Unless Max's PU goes kaput or Ocon decides to renew his rivalry, it would be another Dutch national anthem day come Saturday and Sunday.
China is a really underrated track. Hopefully it lives up to its hype ( which i think it will) so all the new fans who havent seen this track before rate it highly.
Ferrari doing what aston Martin was doing last year and also the drivers doing what they supposed to do unlike the 2nd driver of aston Martin when they was the second best team last year hopefully we see the continuation in form from Ferrari ❤

I saw a podcast of this track, it has been off the calendar for COVID 19. It was re surfaced but Pirelli have not been able to see the track surface as China was in isolation. Max dose not run well here and it has the long rotating slow turns . The sprint will mean less time to work on setup which will be confusing for teams. Probaly run a generic setup and get data and improve on it for next season when there is more data. Just hope Pirelli send the right tire.
How is Cape Town, bruv? Have you been to Table Mountain yet? Knysna will be great!

idk as a Dutch Verstappen fan I think Verstappen will DNF in the main race. I think he will quali somewhat awkward on p3 next to Perez on P4 who also has a bad quali and then they will crash t1. I feel like chaos and weather will impact the race a lot.

Verstappen and Zhou at Audi for 2026. A star driver they would want and a clear number two.
If the Red Bull dilemma is true then it would allow Max to persumably win his fifth world title, achieving everything he would've needed to achieve at Red Bull. Plus Red Bull might drop back if the Ford engine dosen't deliver.
If he does leave Red Bull in the future, a Mercedes or a Ferrari might not build the team around him like a Red Bull would. With Audi we all know they would roll out the red carpet for Max.
Max would be taking a calculated risk, with no pressure to win a title and nothing to lose anyway because the team would technically still be in it's infancy and he already has 4-5 world titles.
This could also reinvigorate his desire for the next decade and if Audi become a dominant team in the future then the risk pays off and he wins more championships.
It would be a massive win for Audi as they have signed basically the number one guy in F1 right now that they can make the franchise star of their brand, perhaps they might re enter WEC with their orginal hypercar project with Verstappen competing in that series in the future as well.

Honeslty don't understand why you think Max isnt clearly ahead of Carlos and George. Put them in the same car and he probably beats them 3:1 in quali and 5:1 in the races (at least).
The only driver on the grid I could see beating Max on pure pace on a regular basis is Charles. Lewis 3 years ago as well.
Ricciardo cooked here in 2018, lets see if he manages to salvage some of that energy for this weekend.

Zero percent chance red bull offered alonso a seat. They may have been having discussions, but red bull would definitely want to wait til later in the season before giving up on all their drivers and having to fit 6 drivers into 4 seats instead of 5 into 4.
