That’s why they look and taste different, but the reason is so the customer was assured of the SAME quality every visit. No grease like the then prevalent “Greasy Spoons”of nearly every other diner. I remember when they were 15 cents a burger , and the only thing you could get were burgers, fries and coffee.
The reason is, this burger is cooked at a lower temp. Therefore you don’t get the crust from a hot sear on the burger. Ballistic Burgers you tube did a piece on them. And they don’t season it. It’s very particular and it’s an acquired taste.
I love Belly Bomber's! Get a single cheeseburger with mustard. They are great. But, the absolute best way to eat at WC Lounge is when drunk, especially on whiskey, or bourbon, like Maker's Mark. Yum, yum with belly Bomber's.

That's why they are a strange colour and a bit damp. Must be an acquired taste. I imagine they must be like the old Westlers burgers you used to get from the salmonella carts outside football grounds in the 70s and 80s, burgers, mystery meat hot dogs and onions all boiling away in the same juice for hours on end served on a stale bun and watered down ketchup ....

Restaurant chains will vary in quality from one location to another. Just because one WC 's food was not appealing doesn't mean it's so for every WC
