Any story with the great Kenny Vaughn included as a side comment must be epic, and this one fits the bill! Thank you again Otis!

Mike Campbell produced the Marty Stewart and the Fabulous Superlatives album “Way Out West”. A MUST LISTEN!!🎸🎸.
Marty and Kenny complement each other’s playing, and are downright dangerous together!

I was in High School when Wildflowers came out - and I probably listened to that record a thousand times - and probably smoked ten pounds of weed while listening to that record. It's timeless. It's a timeless record, in my opinion. It didn't matter who was in my back seat while I was driving - I'd put Wildflowers on and everybody was down. I'd hear, "I never knew how good Tom Petty was." quite a bit. Yes, indeed.

I was with my son in his pickup listening to a classic rock station. They played several Tom Petty songs, & before the last song I told my son,I hope nothing happened to Tom. Sure enough at the end of the last song,he told about the passing of Tom. He was barely older than me at the time. I loved listening to their many great songs, I was shocked & saddened by the news. His duet with Stevie is one of my favorites. I still listen to their music all the time. Miss you Tom. Thanks Otis for bringing us these fabulous interviews!

Hey Otis..! I gotta say that Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore “righted MY musical ship”… I had already been playing bass in local bands for about a year… and I heard Berry Oakley playing that Fender Jazz..! Wow..! Thanks for another vacation for my mind,Otis..!👍🏼❤️

Hi Chris,I know you won't believe that I ghostwrote for Tom Petty, because he was so awesome, but back in 1987.I became more embarrassed about Echo & more proud of Wildflowers with age.

Wow! Great video! I remember getting wildflowers when I was in 6th grade, huge influence during my impressionable years! Howie Epstein was always the goofiest looking bass player, but an absolute ringer and bandleader capabilities. Tom Petty was known for stealing players from other bands, and Del Shannon's bass and bandleader was not spared. Also, Mike Campbell always had the coolest gear, I would always watch him close to see what he was holding.

I got to see a Paul McCartney sound check in Washington DC in 2013 at nationals stadium. We got let in early then a rain delay caused a gate shutdown and delay but since we were already in we observed it from the concourse (Magical Mystery Tour, Hope of Deliverance)…

I was lucky enough to see Tom Petty a good half dozen times in Austin. My daughter and I visited NYC when she was a senior in high school and were lucky enough to score tickets to see Letterman. Oddly enough, Jon Cryer was the guest, but the musical act was a frickin' SOLO DRUMMER.! We demanded our $ back, but management told us to to get a cab, insisting we got our tickets free. True story, folksos. When Tom's axes were stolen on a later Austin tour, I called the 1-800 # andd offered to loan him my vintage cherry red Rickenbacker. I didn't get a response.
