Tomb Raider (1996) - Easter Eggs and References you might have missed!

- I've put together all in one video every Easter egg, references, and anything you might not have known, even decades later.
I've searched the internet and played through the entire game to validate each one the best I could. I can't take credit for a lot of these, I merely pooled together as many Easter Eggs into one video. Some pointers may not be classed as anything of the above, but were included as a point of interest.

holy fuck, i've never noticed the passport easter egg before
Yeah, it's a pretty cool little detail that.
As a huge Tomb Raider fan, I appreciate finding new stuff about my favorite franchise. Good job!
Thank you, Hagane Elric 😄👍
When you think about it, Lara is actually harming the history and all that. Imagine going to unexplored parts of Amazon and finding dinosaurs on the edge of extinction, only to be shot down and killed immediately on sight.
Yeah, that's true, Ap Yt. Lara, also does have a tendency to damage ancient buildings and destroy ancient objects😆
Imagine thinking there are snowy mountains in the Amazon Rainforest. You people seriously think that South America is just one big jungle, it's embarrassing. It's like saying New York is part of the Nevada desert.
@@scorpioigor Wtf?
@@scorpioigor I honestly don't understand why are you picking an argument, why are you so negative? It's ok if you want to correct me, but you're just being rude.
The dinosaur in TR1 is found in the 3rd level called Lost Valley. TR Wiki says the level is located in Peru, in the City of Vilcabamba. There is also Vilcabamba in Ecuador so i'm not sure which one it's supposed to be, but but the Amazon rainforest spans both Peru and Ecuador. And Peru is the 2nd South American country by the percentage of Amazon rainforest which is 13%.
Hearing the Theme of this old game is just pure nostalgia
Similarity between Lara and Natla is they were both abandoned by their families.
Excellent video dude!👍This game was such a classic! I remember back in 1996 just before my birthday I went into my local game store and I saw 2 games on half price this game and Doom I was a pound short of buying them both but my aunt was in the store and she saw me and bought them both for me such an awesome day!🙂👍
That's cool. And Doom is another classic I have a lot of nostalgia for. I miss the 90's 😆
@@SalopianGamer Same here dude the games today just can't replicate the games of the past!
The passport WHHAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!
That's the most new tombraider Easter eggs I'v ever seen in one video! Well done man
Cheers, Joseph Herdman👍👍
Damn, this game had 1996 Easter Eggs and References? Impressive
Great to see people still loving the original
Damn I thought I knew everything about this (my all time favourite game,) but didn’t know about the passport or the hieroglyphics spelling Heather…Damn!
Great Video
Very good. Finished this game for the first time just now what a game
I don't know how I found your channel but I absolutely love it! Subbed and sharing
Hey, Snepy Gaming, thanks for the sub, and I appreciate the support, mate, cheers 👍😄
Great video
Been a Tomb Raider player since the Saturn/pc times, and never noticed many of these
Just subscribed
Hey, Fern, glad you enjoyed the video🙂 And thank you for the sub 👍
Great job on this vid. Brings back good memories, I gotta replay the game sometime
Thank you, Sacagawayway! 👍 Yeah playing these older games brought back good memories for me too.😄
I hope all of the PS1 games get trophy support on the PS Plus.
Also the City of Khamoon is based on the name of (Tutan)khamun.
Been looking forward too this one thanks for posting this😁🍿
Hey, Scott Steele, glad you enjoyed👍👍

Another small thing few people know: the engine of the game was designed to display on PAL TVs. So, all NTSC versions crop the image and then stretch what's left to fill the 4:3 frame, resulting in stretched square tiles and circles, as well as what I call Tall Lara. PC port somehow avoids this. You used the US release of TR1 and stretched it to fill the 16:9 video, but because of Tall Lara, that is almost not an issue.
Me: I've watched so many tr related videos, there's no way there are easter eggs I don't know.
Me after watching the video: HOLY SH-....!!!
😆I'm glad the video was able to surprise you.
Great channel, keep it up man.
Cheers, Shane, appreciate that👍👍
Awesome video
Thank you, nightfloral👍
I have to ask because I've never heard of this before, how much legit is this info about the hieroglyphics? Honestly didn't know. Very good work by the way, you've really done tour homework. I never knew about the wall in Atlantis level and was always wondering
Yes as far as I know it is legit... except the smiley faces 😆
5:45 That's innacurate. The developers have said that it was an accident that that medipack was inaccessible. They thought that Lara could reach that height by jumping. They were extremely overworked and had a very tight deadline. It was just a mistake on their part.
Cool video.
Thanks, Michal Domeracki 👍
5:41 I did actually hear, although I can’t remember where, that this is incorrect. If you look at the wall texture directly behind the medipack, it is slightly darker. I heard that the medipqck was actually planned to be accessible via an opening here, but was changed to be blocked off and the medipqck was accidentally not deleted.
Ah, makes sense🙂 cheers for sharing that👍 I miss playing TR one. I got to find time to get back on that game.
I Would Request Duke Nukem 3d or Total Meltdown 3D Realms Refrence Lara Croft
