I work with the guy I had been seeing, and he asked me to not speak to him after he broke up with me and I got drunk and sad. We sit 20 feet from each other in an open office space and I can hear his every conversation. After 30 days of completely ignoring each other, he walked over to me and wished me a happy new year, and then asked me to have lunch with him the following day. That was last week and although we're not texting or speaking outside of work, it feels like I'm slowly falling into this "just friends" space with him. Is completely cutting them off after a month or so after the breakup a bad idea? Such as deleting their contact fully so that we can stop trying to contact them... I did it out of impulse without telling him or anything and I knew I had to do it anyways because I would never have the guts to do it if I kept thinking about it, but every now and then I still feel sort of guilty. We both knew the breakup was necessary and beneficial to me because he acknowledged he just couldn't give me the attention I needed, but even then I thought we could've worked things out together, instead he just ended the relationship, the breakup would've been so unnecessary if he just didn't give up so easily. So obviously after he broke up with me I was approaching him over and over again and being nice about it (which certainly was a bad idea because it only made me seem desperate and annoying). So then we were on mutual avoidance for a period of time and it confused me because we agreed to be friends, but the problem was he didn't even make any effort to restore any sort of "friendship". Then one day I texted and asked directly whether or not we were going to be friends, whether we can still hangout or not, and then he said we could still be friends and we could still hangout, but on the inside I knew he was just trying to be polite and hangouts weren't gonna happen anytime soon and it kinda made me feel sick but I just left it alone. And that was fine for a week or so until one day I was hearing things he told his friends from awhile back that sounded as if he was very sick of me at the time, things that sounded as if he was pitying me after the breakup. I couldn't help feeling like I just didn't want to be associated with him anymore, now or ever, so I deleted his contact fully because it'd just be better like that anyways. In all honesty I really didn't need him, all my friends said he didn't deserve me and I was out of his league, other guys kept telling me I should date someone hotter or whatever. But then again I loved him a lot, and he had been polite to me even when he broke up with me, and I told him I wouldn't blame him, and I don't, but he also hurt me a LOT even though it was unintentional, but then now (or when he finds out later that I deleted him) he might think I was hypocritical and he might tell his friends about it because I asked to be friends and then I ended up deleting him completely. I just didn't want to be an annoyance to him anymore, it's not fun to be someone's living burden, it felt as if I'd be just as good dead as alive in his world so I'd deleted myself from his world, and him from mine. It feels almost as content as just murdering someone you love from your world because you know they tortured you and they'd be better off without you anyways. I know it sounds stupid but should I feel guilty about this? Should I feel guilty about deleting his contact? Is he going to think I'm just salty or bitter? Or is he going to understand I just needed time for myself and needed to fully distant myself from him?

I wish I found this video earlier. After 2 weeks of our breakup (reason being that his parents didn't approve. Is completely cutting them off after a month or so after the breakup a bad idea? Such as deleting their contact fully so that we can stop trying to contact them... I did it out of impulse without telling him or anything and I knew I had to do it anyways because I would never have the guts to do it if I kept thinking about it, but every now and then I still feel sort of guilty. We both knew the breakup was necessary and beneficial to me because he acknowledged he just couldn't give me the attention I needed, but even then I thought we could've worked things out together, instead he just ended the relationship, the breakup would've been so unnecessary if he just didn't give up so easily. So obviously after he broke up with me I was approaching him over and over again and being nice about it (which certainly was a bad idea because it only made me seem desperate and annoying). So then we were on mutual avoidance for a period of time and it confused me because we agreed to be friends, but the problem was he didn't even make any effort to restore any sort of "friendship". Then one day I texted and asked directly whether or not we were going to be friends, whether we can still hangout or not, and then he said we could still be friends and we could still hangout, but on the inside I knew he was just trying to be polite and hangouts weren't gonna happen anytime soon and it kinda made me feel sick but I just left it alone. And that was fine for a week or so until one day I was hearing things he told his friends from awhile back that sounded as if he was very sick of me at the time, things that sounded as if he was pitying me after the breakup. I couldn't help feeling like I just didn't want to be associated with him anymore, now or ever, so I deleted his contact fully because it'd just be better like that anyways. In all honesty I really didn't need him, all my friends said he didn't deserve me and I was out of his league, other guys kept telling me I should date someone hotter or whatever. But then again I loved him a lot, and he had been polite to me even when he broke up with me, and I told him I wouldn't blame him, and I don't, but he also hurt me a LOT even though it was unintentional, but then now (or when he finds out later that I deleted him) he might think I was hypocritical and he might tell his friends about it because I asked to be friends and then I ended up deleting him completely. I just didn't want to be an annoyance to him anymore, it's not fun to be someone's living burden, it felt as if I'd be just as good dead as alive in his world so I'd deleted myself from his world, and him from mine. It feels almost as content as just murdering someone you love from your world because you know they tortured you and they'd be better off without you anyways. I know it sounds stupid but should I feel guilty about this? Should I feel guilty about deleting his contact? Is he going to think I'm just salty or bitter? Or is he going to understand I just needed time for myself and needed to fully distant myself from him?
