    Great video John. true knowledge is being willing to learn new things. so many people think health comes from a shot or pill. but is is a multitude of things, good food, good exercise, love and friendship, purposeful breathing. just to name a few.

    Your garden is so lush, you must be in a warm climate. Michigan is just getting started (snow peas n stuff) I have been doing some raw ferments like kraut and pickles and vinegar.

    Antibiotics, yes, but what about the natural ones, like garlic (as you mentioned), hot peppers, mustard (raw, seed) or horseradish, ginger etc? What we should do if we already have some bacterial viral or fungal infection and simply our immune system cannot handle it without natural antibiotics? Also let us know what is your opinion on sprouted legumes? As you pressure-cook them and many experts says it not good in raw as they are indigestible and high in lectins. Spices can also be too hard for microbiome. Do not washing products - I really dont know, if they are organic even, can they contain parasite eggs? Thank you for your answer in advance. P.s. Fermented foods - what if someone has bloating and other issues of those? Are they still good for therm?

    In situations where you purposely subject yourself to bacteria in hopes of increasing your microbe diversity, I would think that using a prebiotic would be a great thing. This will help feed the good bacteria, not the bad so it will increase the chances of the good bac flourishing better than the others.

    What do you think of psylium husks as a form of fiber. I recently heard someone say it is harsh on the colon. What are your thoughts? Thank you

    Trying hard to get used to those green smoothies but gosh darn, the taste gets a little getting used to! Had a beet, apple, carrot and cinnamon smoothie from the Kuvings cookbook (couldn’t include the ginger, I’ve had a reaction in the past) and was tempted to put a Mr. Yuk sticky by it. LOL! With this said, still experimenting.

      I am so lucky that I learned to like them quickly… the first one was the “oh” introduction, but after that I soon loved them & prefer them not to be sweet… I really like the “green”. 😉

      @@fluffypink6unny I wish that had been my experience. 😊 I don’t really eat sweets but I guess it’s just a matter of finding the right recipes. I’m inclined to think it’s more the apple than the greens or beets I don’t care for in blender recipes. Substituting the apple for another fruit or date may help.

      @@Victoria-bl4tw ; too much apple ruins it for me too. I usually restrict the fruit to a 1/4 of two different types of fruit. I may also add a small amount of lemon or lime depending on what’s on my fridge.

    I like sauerkraut. I buy it from the supermarket, I know store bought sauerkraut is sold pasteurized. Does it still have the good bacteria and do I still get the health benefits? How much Sauerkraut should one eat per day? Thanks

      pasteurized kraut no longer contains probiotics. Get one that says "raw" from a health food store. Avoid the bubbies brand at the health food store, its pasteurized.

    How do you feel about the fact that most, if not all, leafy greens are man-made hybrid plants that you will never see in the wild? Are they really meant to be eaten? Fruits are meant to be eaten because mother nature wants us to spread the seeds. The reason I even ask this question is because I did some research after having issues with eating greens for years. I finally just gave up eating them. And now I've discovered that they are man-made from thousands of years of cross breeding done by man. These plants would have never existed if it wasn't for human interference.

      ...and modern fruits are not man-made either? the fact of the mater is most plant life has been changed from its original form. To me this is not the main factor on why it is good or bad. I think a diet that doesn't have any greens is not healthy, personally.

      I believe as long as humans cross-breed naturally, without genetic modification, which is possible to happen in nature, although through much longer periods of time, that that foods are ok...
      even genetic modification that doesn't involve using animal genes on plants, I believe is not that problematic...but those are just my opinions... =)

      It’s pure truth! I ate a lot of Meat, Eggs and fish and now I have crohn disease.
