- During a news conference Sunday, Patrick had a message for CenterPoint, saying they need to respond to questions about their response.
You mean, just because you give a corporation all the money they ask for, they still don't care about their customers? Shocker!
I love how these politicians point the finger at a corporation for failing to be prepared but take absolutely no responsibility themselves for not making sure that they have Houston’s back instead of assuming a corporation who has repeatedly dropped the ball was on point for this upcoming storm.
I'm sure that's NOT what is going on. LOL
@@jmw611 Clearly the one at fault for all of this is the GOVERNOR. He sat in his AC for days till he understood how big this really was and now he comes out to blame Centerpoint. Why is this company, given a monopoly over a hundred years ago, is running a utility as a corporation trading on the stock market? Who is the concern in that situation? The stockholders! Not the public and the people paying the bills. Why is the CEO getting millions every year in compensation when my rates continue to go up and up.....where is all that money being spent??
I've lived in other states, and in other places the power company is run as a utility. It's goal is not to run for profit. All the money you spend on your power bill goes to pay employees and the rest goes into maintaining the grid and upgrades. Turning the electric grid into a casino to enrich a few is what we have today. A total failure of the leadership of these corporations, but also a failure in the leadership of this state who allowed this to happen.
CenterPoint has only existed within the last 25 years…
Well said!
STOP the monopolies!! Everyone in Texas is vulnerable. Abbott, Patrick could have put their travels on hold to help Texans and they DIDNT. Let's call truth here, not blame game. Say I screwed up!
