It's not just Michigan. Maintenance costs are so much more than initial construction costs and builders spend no time with no quality because when the bill is due they are on the next planned community.
When you add the lighting to the trailer park, you should have one of the light poles or Trailer Interior lights flickering. It's something I always see in Trailer Parks. The City Looks Fantastic!
Thanks, well I plan to do something like that with the trailer eddie munson is jamming on top of :) figure red and vlue lights would be perfect for that.
Don’t forget to add a car with its hood up and missing tires in the trailer park and one trailer lot with unmowed or partially mowed grass. One lot can have kids toys all over the place.
just binge watched every city update on this channel and i’m loving your plans for this city. the attention to detail, the unique custom builds, and small town feel are *chef’s kiss*. looking forward to everything that comes next!
I enjoy you showing this level of detail with the elevation changes. It really makes you appreciate that amount of effort (and parts!) it takes to do something that looks so simple when you are done.
That fence is a great addition to keep kids safe. My wife and I love the trailer park and look forward to adding the lights and minifigs. The curved road looks great and so does train tracks elevation. I always enjoy these videos.
Thanks John, yeah after he said that I thought you know, thats a real easy add so had to do it. Hoping to have the lights added and some more landscape for the next update.

This looks perfect. If you build the mountain, i would build it first flat and then go higher. That makes it morenrealistic. Do you understand me? As always i cant wait for a new city video Edit: i would build some smaller hills before the mountain
With the edit I get what you mean now :) Im a bit limited on space on this end of the table but yes Im planning a small grade change at first and then a up shoot using burps.
I would add some texture to the trailer parks parking lot, make it look a little over grown so there aren't too many sharp edges or straight line. Overall, it looks fantastic! Loving the updates!
Glad the kids are safe now! 🙂 As always though you go above and beyond... can you add a fence... of course you can but also a sign, and detail I never imagined! Great work on the trailer park too, that's coming on great and a bonus of some Metallica too! Are we going to get sounds as well as lights in this city? Also I always thought the downside to the new road plates were it restricted you to grid like patterns but you've proved me wrong on that too. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the great suggestion. As for music, sadly, youtube tends to be really funny about what you can use, so I doubt I will ever try for fears of a community strike. But I do post things on instagram with music without restrictions :) Dont ever think anything is impossible. If there is a will, there is a way 😉
@BevinsBricks Oh yes, of course. I watch a load of RUclips musicians so I knew but somehow also forgot that. :) I'd add you to Instagram but I never got round to adding myself so I'll just hum The Outlaw Torn once you've finished the park. Cheers again.
Trailer house, you mean modular home ? My grandparents live in what I called a trailer house. They bought a trailer and put it on propeety and then he built an addition around it. Was beautiful when it was done. Dont know anywhere that would allow something like that these days.
Too late now, but my son suggested that if you ever re-do your power system, use the power lines to run the actual electric lines to the buildings. More realistic and easier to switch up the lines if needed. And for my comment, you need the police in the trailer park, lol. Edit: You also need some Trailer Park Boys references. Maybe minifigs of Ricky, Julian and Bubbles and that crapped out car Ricky drives!
Slightly off topic, i thought you had mentioned but I cannot find it now. I created an MOC inspired by you actually. I now have my parts list. You had mentioned a website that would allow you to upload the list to order. Do you recall what the URL was that you mentioned???
one idea for your city, you should add in those propane or whatever circular tanks in the back of the gas station, where they would hold propane or gas
You could definitely use that fence with the 8x8 grating in other areas of your railway. Glad you remembered to put the sand mounds underneath the grass. Not many people do that
Yeah definitely need a fence around the park. As for the color change on elevation to me it looks better with fast slopes to do that. But on low grades all green works well too.
Don't know if you have the room for it but if you would like to make the curved road connect to the ground plates you could probably also use turntable plates (Lego item nr: 3680c02) And nice addition of the trailerpark. Love seeing the progress and always looking if I can get ideas from it for my small city :)
@@BevinsBricks I meant more the road that currently is laying on the tiles (the diagonal part) I noticed that under it you also had a brick that is probaly also located on a tile or standing on studs. That way you could connect it without having it too tight and without the risk of it accidentally moving when bumping the table :)
No sadly I started a freeway in my last city and then scratched it all to start over with this small city. But how to videos when I do make them are on my other channel Bevins Bricks World. :)
Nice idea to make a trailer park. I hope you make it a bit messier though, like putting some trash, rust, graffiti, broken windows and some over grown bushes in the scenario. I'm as always looking forward to the progress😊
nice build bro, seeing the trailers in the dark like that gave me a suggestion maybe less lighting on the Trailerpark so it looks a bit unsafe/unsavory. anyways ill hear what u think of it. have a good one.
I have to put lights in so it can be seen. But the amount of lighting will be limited. Typically though in seedy areas, at least near me, people tend to have more lights on.
What are the best materials for adding levels to cities for hills and extra levels? I have read that duplo blocks may work with lego pieces on top or build a custom table to add the extra level.
For support on high elevation changes yes duplo is great, i use it all the time. Its even in the 6ft tall avengers tower I made. 2x2 and 2x4 bricks are also a huge help as well as supports beams. And for the surface space 16x16 plates.
thats good cause with the train that speed might make stronger wind to slam the door or someone walk out without warning i seen many cars run over by train in real lif not in a cartoon like either popeye or looney tunes if reference
Great updates. Shouldn't the 'No Trespassing' sign be on the other side of the fence? You can probably hide the gaps in the road angles with some vegetation hanging over the curb.
I do agree but then noone would be able to see it :) and I did debate that for hiding the gaps. I also have another idea I may try as well that may fill them in.
It is all a matter of personal preference to the individual. But to me even if it came assembled I would want to pull it apart and redo it myself. I say this because following instructions and building sets is a great way to learn a lot of unique techniques for building your own builds.

That trailer park. Is a great ideas and not seen often in Lego City's. I mentioned it before But this is ver good solution to make virved roads. I wondered already why the Designers of Lego did'nt make there own solutions or roadplates with a curved. The same for the masonry bricks. Why are there only straight brivkes. And no corner masonry bricks. In my opinion a mistake the they don't have them.
Yeah it would be nice if they did. The funny thing is even off brand companies make them. Which you would think would drive lego to want to make them also.

I don't know if you have room for it, but it's an idea. Your city always brings me back to my childhood it makes me think of HO scaled trains just with Lego with the amount of detail you do in your city.
@BevinsBricks Nice. Say you have done skyscrapers in the past. Would you ever try to do one with the art panels from the Lego art set? Lego sent me 6 by mistake a few months ago, and I am not sure how to start with this skyscraper other then copy the frame of an art set on the outside and copy the detectives office for the windows but that's all I can come up with.
@bricklover2258 ive never even built any of those art sets. But Im sure you could snot build it into the building. Think of old large buildings like mongomery wards and such that have huge painting on the facade😊
@BevinsBricks I am thinking if Lego makes a 2 by 2 brick with the wholes for technic pins, then I can just copy the frame design of art sets minus the tiles but use plates for strength.
I dont watch him, but its not the curve that Im talking about as I myself have made several version of curves. Its the angular road with the new road plates. Ive seen noone do that before.
@@BevinsBricks Exactly, ehat do you do with you power poles, the big ones, you know? I would place one of them on the green area behind the train tracks near the trailer park in that corner if you get me
I really want to light up my city. despite this, I don't know how any of the lights work from the ones u sell and other brands. Is it hard to set up the lights? and does it cost a lot of money cause basically, I don't have much lego and its for my winter village.
Lighting is very easy, and my products are compatible with most major brands. For example mine work with game of bricks, bricksmax and light my bricks just to name a few. I have a lot of videos on my other channel bevins bricks world that go in depth on explaining how to use and install lighting.
Check out Bricksie. He did curved roads with the new roads a while ago. He's just re done the lay out of his city so not sure how many curves he has now. From memory he did do a vlog about how he came up with the curve too
@@BevinsBricks Bricksie did his curves in a very different way to you. I thought you might be interested in a different way of doing them since you said you hadn't scene anyone else doing curves and that was your first time
Well first I have no interest in anything bricksie does but thanks, and second Ive never seen anyone do a diagnal road using the new road plates. Brick built roads on a diagnal are somewhat common. The best person Ive seen do that is lions bricks. The best curve a builder in germany does uses jumpers and tiles and it very slick but very part intensive. A simple curve yes there are a ton of versions out there. I think everyone that sells on bricklink has a version available lol.
Absolutely wonderful work as per usual. You would think Lego would allow for easier systems with their new modular road plates, though your system seems to work pretty well!
Thanks, Im surprised they havent come up with at least a simple curve as much as people ask for it. The way it was explained to me is the standard road plates are for that and the new road plates were intended for kids, apparently kids dont want curves lol.
@@BevinsBricks oh no I’m heartbroken. That was hands down the best ever Lego airport. Hope you do one again in the future. It was the reason I followed
Thanks, I have had so many people make other suggestions like Jesse Pinkman but dont know if I can squeeze all the ideas in. I though stranger things and eminem from the 8 mile movie would be the two most recognized ones. :)
probly one or two of the trailers shouldent have lights cause when you have the lights on it is uasually night time and at night some people would be sleeping so two of the trailers should not have lights
Trailer park eh? Looks like I have somewhere to stay if I ever visit your city that fits my price range, are you going to have sat dishes pointed in all directions? That seems very trailer parky.🤣
One of the biggest issues I have always had with making a lego city: the squareness and flatness. This is awesome work as always! Definitely an inspiration to me, and I imagine to others as well!
Thanks man, yeah I want to get away from everything looking like its on a grid. Its hard with lego though. But I figure even if its some small subtle things like this it might help.
I watch a couple of Lego city builders. I gotta say, your videos are probably my favorite. I was asking myself yesterday if you'd have a new video out, and here we are. Beautiful city man, love your work.
Have you ever given a thought to slightly elevating the outer side of the train track in the curve, as RL curved train tracks are, to accomodate the centrifugal force? I love your trick with "curved" roads, I was trying to do something similar for my own town.

@Bevinbricks brickies has done curved roads with the new plates
I dont watch him, but its not the curve that Im talking about as I myself have made several version of curves. Its the angular road with the new road plates. Ive seen noone do that before.
You might want to put a wall between the railroad tracks and the trailer park.. don't want kids getting squished lol
Maybe a small wooden fence
I was debating the fence but I think a small wooden fence would looks much better. The flip side though is that a chain link would be more fitting
@@BevinsBricks Exactly, ehat do you do with you power poles, the big ones, you know? I would place one of them on the green area behind the train tracks near the trailer park in that corner if you get me
I actually plan to make more of those and place in the city
@@BevinsBricks Good, when comes a new city Update Video?
From memory he did do a vlog about how he came up with the curve too
Well I have made several versions of curved roads and most of what bricksie does he has gotten from other builders like myself.
Great update, love what you are doing
Thanks 😊
Are you still working on your city?
Make sure you add a tornado siren because it will be coming for the trailer Park 😂. Awesome update 😁👍
Lmao, you know thats right. May have to moc one up for the future to for fun.
Great job Daryl! Love the trailer park!
Thanks Kipp I appreciate it
Imagine people living in a trailer having a Lego city
As always like the city updates .looks real nice keep it up. Your city is inspiring.
Thanks I appreciate it.
Car tutorials?
The front of the trailer park is screaming for a row of mailboxes.
Oh awesome idea, I didnt think of that
Trailer Park needs a trans am or Camaro sitting on blocks with no motor
Yes it needs at least 1 distressed car for sure
Lego has to know that city makers need curved roads, no?
Yes but they dont seem to care
Are you bringing the airport back or did you demolish it???
I demolished my airport but still have my runway. If I do the airport again I will make it a seperate display
@@BevinsBricks oh no I’m heartbroken. That was hands down the best ever Lego airport. Hope you do one again in the future. It was the reason I followed
Yo quick question when is your next City update?
was hoping this weekend but something came up and didnt get the work done
Love the idea of Eddie and Eminem in the park. Nice easter egg additions to your amazing build.
Its funny you say that as 2 of the trailers currently have nothing installed :)
Trailer park eh? Looks like I have somewhere to stay if I ever visit your city that fits my price range, are you going to have sat dishes pointed in all directions? That seems very trailer parky.🤣
Lmao, the downtown hotel is very reasonable also and very comfortable :)
Bug zappers is something i always see outside of trailler/caravan park/sites. Think it would also add some life on a random timer
That would be cool, I will have to see if I can figure out a way to make one, as it would be simple to light with a blue led. 😀
Very American
Yes small town 😀
I watch a couple of Lego city builders. I gotta say, your videos are probably my favorite. I was asking myself yesterday if you'd have a new video out, and here we are.
Beautiful city man, love your work.
Thank you I appreciate it. I try to post every Sunday but fall short of that a lot lately :)
even a forest would have been nice instead of the caravans
To each there own. Thats why this is my city. I do have plans for a forest area just not here as I want the front of the table to have small builds.
Have you ever given a thought to slightly elevating the outer side of the train track in the curve, as RL curved train tracks are, to accomodate the centrifugal force? I love your trick with "curved" roads, I was trying to do something similar for my own town.
I never worried to much about it as I run my trains fairly slow but yes that great for going at a faster speed. And thanks 😊
