How to take MTO from P&ID?

Estimation of material quantity is very important activity in success of every project. In the early stages of project, very little information is available which can provide us the estimate of material quantities. This can be done by using P&ID to extract MTO for all commodities except 2 things
1) Pipe Length &
2) Elbows
Other than the above to items all the commodities can be taken from the P&ID. This video explains the tricks and rules which helps you to estimate the MTO from P&ID itself.

This video covers how to take MTO of single line in a given P&ID.... If you follow the same steps and take MTO line by line.... then it will give you MTO for Entire P&ID
Pipe length will not be possible from P&ID, that's understandable, but is there is thumb rule that can made to get the length by clubbing P&ID and plotplan?

You made a p&id for some system, now you need to buy all the necessary piping material for that, so you take material off from that p&id to get it from market, and the list you will be requiring for that is MTO (material takeoff list)
