  • Dale Jr. visited North Wilkesboro earlier this year to give back to the community, promote reading, and of course -- take a few laps around the track.

First you need to get the sport back from the people that have killed it. When it became a bastion for liberal ideology, it killed the true nature of NASCAR. When huge teams took over the owner driver it changed. Nobody has to wrench their car all week and then qualify on the weekend. Drivers are walking billboards for their Masters and don’t spend all week under a car. When you get rid of pretty boy standards and get back to grit eating men as drivers then you will get the sport back.

I never was a jr fan when he was racing but since retiring and seeing all he does for the sport I've become a hard-core jr fan now.

I tuned in to the dura lube 400 at Rockingham the very next race after sr died to watch jr and see how he did his job and responded racing one week after losing his father. He wrecked in a very similar fashion that sr did on lap 2 or 3. Thankfully it was at a much slower speed and he had the HANS device and was uninjured. Been a huge fan since. Seeing him racing here and there in xfinity nowadays is one of my favorite things.

Love ya Dale, I'd love to shake your hand. You and your Dad have given me years of enjoyment. Hearing those RPM's echoing off of that speedway reminded me of my 1 st visit to Indy Speedway this year during the FFA convention. My Dad loved racing and we'd always watch the 500 laying in the floor together. I'm 48 now but I got so emotional hearing a Vette pacecar go around that track I literally cried and remembered Dad. What a place. I had NO idea it'd hit me like that

This must've taken place about 2 months ago by my estimate... The old pavement was still on the track. It's now repaved. Very cool opportunity to give teachers the chance to experience something cool like that. For as important as teachers are, they don't get nearly what they deserve in recognition for their work building the next generation of our country. Kudos to everyone involved with that.

This is a side of Jr that's never seen or mentioned. On one of his podcasts not long ago Chocolate Meyers said he was doing things for the sport that his dad would not have been doing. I think this is a perfect example of what he was talking about. As much as I liked Sr I can't see him sitting down in front of a bunch of kids and reading to them.

Well Dale Jr and the rest of those NASCAR fans who are enjoying the revised North Wilksboro track...here's my message. Remember the "let's go Brandon" meme some NASCAR fans love to shout [it stands for 'fu*k Joe Biden']. Y'all should be thanking President Biden and the Democrats on Capital Hill because they passed the funding that gave 18 million dollars towards making North Wilkesboro happen again. NOT...ONE...North Carolina Republican House or Senate member voted for the bill that netted the money for North Wilkesboro - NOT ONE! I'm a 60 year NASCAR fan and, putting politics aside, I believe in giving credit where credit is due!
