This was a great song, played by The Five Stairsteps. This group later became a group called The Invisible Man's Band and had a hit with another great cut called, "All Night Thing". Give that song a listen.

Man, I had a crush on her too!
She was so cute and a little bit on the chubby side but I loved her all the same, I had a pix of her somewhere on my computer however, I can't seem to find it.
Her name is Sister Remi she has become a Muslim..Alhamdulillah! This is the holy month of Ramadan.
Hey i find that pix I'll send it to you, her mother Kenny and brother Cubi are in the pix, Cubi has passed away.

Yes, they have crowned the first family of soul.
They beat out the J5 @ the Regal theatre with the first prize being a recording contract. The Steps turned down a recording contract from Motown too.

This is just not true. The Sylvers started late 50s, The Osmonds were performing from 1962, & The Jackson’s from 64 , Stairsteps are from 65. So all are peers with The Sylvers being around longest, but under a different name at first.

Yes we did- as kids this music and music like it was so important as a healing and teaching force. Also the Viet Nam war was happening, and weighed pretty heavily on kids as well as adults, so positive music was such a gift!

Then went on to be the invisible man's band and Keni Burke went on to make a song that stands the test of time and you may have reacted to already called Rising to The Top still playing that bass. The drummer Jerome Big Foot Braily went on to be 1 of the founding members and drummer for Funkadelic

Hard to believe now that hit after hit after hit played on the radio from the 60's through the 80's. Especially the 60's and 70's. We were spoiled, that's a fact.
